Thank you all for joining ! The weather was pleasant and the company and food even more so ! Please do let me know which things can be improved. This was the first time we organized something like this and I’d love to repeat it this coming winter a couple more times. From my personal opinion we should perhaps try to find a more central location inbetween Abu Dhabi and Dubai / Sharjah as we have people joining in from several Emirates and it would be good if we could find a location that’s suitable for all. Perhaps also next time we can meetup a bit earlier before dark so it’s easier to set up camp 🏕️ while still having some day light. Stay tuned for more to come ! @LooperThank you so much for safely taking out the campers this morning.

What a great signup ! @Gaurav@Srikumar@Looper@Gok Krish@Mohammad Sayawoush Azad@Krishna R@Senthil Kumar@Sreenath G@Ahmad Nerat@Premjit Vappala@AlexM@sohinik@Bjoern@Ignacio Quindós@Soufiane@Abhilash Kottakkal@Jaro Tuzinsky@Ben Williams@Bhaskar Some information prior to the event: 1. This is not an off-road drive, but a sit-down session to look and listen to the Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon album together. Bring your chairs, or a beach mat if you prefer to sit in the sand. 2. The meeting time is 7.30PM. Meeting location is https://maps.app.goo.gl/AU7pE4S6kJCCp56e9 3. We will deflate to 15psi and head out together to the camping spot by 7.50PM latest. 4. Upon arrival we will park the cars 20-30m away from the actual sit-down point. 5. Setting up the gear will take about 20mins max. You can also use that time to setup your tent if you like. 6. During the duration of the album listening, please respect the people who like to pay attention by not shouting, driving around with big lights, or disturbing the event in general. The total duration of the album is 43mins. Album information The album reflects on various stages of human life, beginning and ending with a heartbeat, exploring the nature of the human experience and, according to Roger Waters, "empathy". Below the playlist of the album. The visuals are taken from Live concerts in 1974 Wembley and combined with more contemporary visuals. 1. Breathe. 2. Speak to me. "Speak to Me" and "Breathe" together highlight the mundane and futile elements of life that accompany the ever-present threat of madness, and the importance of living one's own life – "Don't be afraid to care". 2. On the Run. By shifting the scene to an airport, the synthesiser-driven instrumental "On the Run" evokes the stress and anxiety of modern travel, in particular Wright's fear of flying. 3. Time. "Time" examines the manner in which its passage can control one's life and offers a stark warning to those who remain focused on mundane pursuits; 4. The Great Gig In The Sky. The first side of the album ends with Wright and vocalist Clare Torry's soulful metaphor for death, "The Great Gig in the Sky". 5. Money. The first track on side two, opens with the sound of cash registers and rhytmical jingling coins. The song mocks greed and consumerism with sarcastic lyrics and cash-related sound effects. "Money" became the band's most commercially successful track and was covered by many other artists. 6. Us and Them. "Us and Them" addresses the isolation of the depressed with the symbolism of conflict and the use of simple dichotomies to describe personal relationships. 7. Any Colour You Like. "Any Colour You Like" tackles the illusion of choice one has in society. 8. Brain Damage. "Brain Damage" looks at mental illness resulting from the elevation of fame and success above the needs of the self; in particular, the line "and if the band you're in starts playing different tunes" reflects the mental breakdown of former bandmate Syd Barrett. 9. Eclipse. The album ends with "Eclipse", which espouses the concepts of otherness and unity, while encouraging the listener to recognize the common traits shared by humanity. It was great seeing you again @JeromeFJ and it seemed indeed that the hidden gems we went looking for did not reveal themselves so easily to us. @Rk ramwoke us up with a nice stuck inside a dip, where @JeromeFJ was able to redirect him a bit, but eventually he was able to drive himself out wonderfully. It gave us the first taste of what would follow.. About 20mins later into the drive, @JeromeFJ announced he had a popout from sliding off a dune, and while i circled back towards him, @FERNANDO SYRIOannounced he also had a popout. I went to check on Jerome, and after seeing he was ok, i went back to go and help out Fernando, and got myself into a pickle when i slid off a dune myself and encountered a popout myself (so 3 popouts in less than 5 minutes apart). @Chacame to my rescue and pulled me out of that ditch and we fixed my popout together. By the time we were finished, Jerome managed to help out Fernando so we were all "popped in" again and good to go. I decided to exit that area as it was giving off the wrong vibes, and decided to take a bit of sabkha and head in a bit further. The next time we entered we found some nice rolling dunes, but as i started to pick up the pace, i came over what looked like an innocent dune and found a massive bush right in front of me. After some digging we managed to get the patrol redirected and able to drive out. My second lead @Gary Falso decided to take a break from the offroading game and parked his sandrunner on a nice looking crest Again we headed out and went back in a bit further and again i got myself in a pickle when i had a nasty nose dive in a hidden depression. A fantastic pull from Gary got it back out, and after some other small refusals and stucks, we exited again. By that time, we were running close to exit time and i felt that this morning somewhat was not in our favor and the best thing to do was get the hell out of there. I picked up the pace and we drove towards the exit in Baja style. I thank you all for joining and for bearing with the refusals, stucks, and shoveling. My signature smooth style drives today turned into a challenging one, but alas we had some good fun and learnings and we got out unharmed. Great support from @Cha, fantastic second lead @Gary Fand a very strong undeterred convoy consisting of @Deepak Eswar, @Mohit Gurnani, @Cristian, @FERNANDO SYRIO, @Zulfikhar Naiyar, @Rk ram, and @JeromeFJwho got back into the game and probably wished for something better Hope too see you all in the sand soon again and we can have a "smoother" drive next time !

Good morning all ! @Gary F@Cristian@Deepak Eswar@FERNANDO SYRIO@Mohit Gurnani@Juan R@Rk ram@Zulfikhar Naiyar@Cha I've just closed the convoy. Please find your convoy positions posted here above. We will be using Channel 4: 446.081 Mhz. Due to the unstable weather conditions, we might have to lower the drive level a bit, as wet sand can be very deceiving and dangerous. So let's take it easy and slowly build up the pace until we are comfortable with the terrain. See you all at 6.30AM !
