  3. CONVOY LIST FOR TOMORROW @Rob S @Bjoern @AlexM@Jona@Richard Franks @Zed@DP1011@Looper Good afternoon guys ! We will be using Channel 3 tomorrow: 446.056 Mhz See you all in the morning !
  4. I think on the Rockford systems the amplifier is mounted externally, that could be the reason you cannot find the speaker wiring. You might need an adapter like this: Metra Axxess MITO-02 Radio Replacement Adapter (autosoundcentral.com) This topic has been discussed here: rockford mmcs replacement - Pajero 4WD Club of Victoria Public Forum (pajeroforum.com.au)
  5. Pertaining to the Rockford Subwoofer, i read somewhere that there is a Can Bus cable running towards the back, so that might be a bit of an issue. I would recommend you check a couple of the different Mitsubishi pin layouts and see if the speaker wires are mostly in the same colour coding or not. Looks like this lady had it easy with harness:
  6. Think i found it here: Mitsubishi (2012-2018) Outlander, Lancer, Pajero Sport and others Base Head Unit pinout diagram @ pinoutguide.com Others can be found here: Genuine Mitsubishi Car audio Head Units pinouts diagrams @ pinoutguide.com
  7. I found this somewhere on the web: So take a AA battery and attach the + and - to the following wires: * Pins A and D * Pins B and E * Pins I and M * Pins J and N It could be that the Mitsubishi radios have the ground wire attached to the metal mounting frame of the radio. In any case the ground wire can easily be made yourself by connecting a wire from the car frame and using this as your ground. any location where you have something bolted to the frame of the car would usually do (make sure there is no paint layer in between).
  8. Your image for both connectors didn’t show in your topic. Can you send them again ? Usually these are the universal colour schemes for aftermarket radios: Yellow - Permanent 12V Red- 12V when the ignition is on Blue - Remote 12V output for amplifier Black - Ground - Speakers will be like this: White and White/Black Green and Green/black Grey and Grey/Black Purple and Purple/Black
  9. Hi @hclima thats indeed a difficult one, are you located in Dubai ? Because I’ve seen people installing those “Tesla Style” aftermarket radios in Dragon Mart, and they seem to get the full functionality. An easy trick to identify the speaker wires: 1) first check with a small multimeter if there’s no voltage on that particular wire. Then try to find green, purple, grey, and white wires. These are the usual colours for speakers. 2) Now the trick is to find 1 speaker pair. This would be for example a full white wire and a white/black one. Now take a small AA battery and connect these two wires to the AA battery. You will hear a tiny “plop” sound and that way you identify which wire corresponds with which speaker. I’ll have a look in the meantime if I can find wiring diagram for the Pajero.
  10. Once you have the full premium version, then the World Imagery ESRI comes built in. My original post here with the custom map “hack” allowed for adding ESRI or Google imagery to the light version of Gaia. That’s perhaps the reason you still have both. Same here The subscription models have changed in the meantime and I think on the free models you won’t be able to get any sattelite imagery (not sure). High res vs Low Res depends on a couple of factors. Every once in a while they update their maps but if during that time if the imagery is not totally clear due to weather circumstances or other issues you’ll have less detail. I remember @M.Seidam brought this up at one point as his sattelite map suddenly showed a big vague area in his fav area of Qudra where in the past it was crystal clear and detailed. A big advantage of Gaia is the layering, so you can easily swap between maps with the slider to show or reveal another map.
  11. Very good remark, for that main reason I use the “satellite with labels” map as my main map in Gaia. Only in specific terrain where it doesn’t offer enough detail I’d switch to “World Imagery”, which is the same as ESRI. If you want to explore an alternative look into CalTopo which has a very good browser and maps. The mobile app is also good but I still prefer the Gaia one. PS CalTopo has a map called “sentinel weekly” which will show sattelite imagery from only 2-3 days back, which can be interesting to spot construction changes, seismic exploration, flooding, etc…
  12. Hahaha no you won't be spotting these here i am afraid...
  13. Good afternoon guys and thanks for signing up for this drive ! @Richard Franks@DP1011 , Deepak wrangler@Rob S@Bjoern@Jona@Looper@AlexM This drive will offer a good blend of all the skills required as as FB+ driver. I have seen all of you driving before and know that with this convoy we can probably drive to Milkyway Spot in Abu Dhabi I expect to keep a high pace and lots of zig-zagging and cresting to make our way south towards Sweihan. We might come across @Gauravhis Newbie convoy over there, and if we do we will definitely go and say hello. The final exit point would be here: https://goo.gl/maps/MnzP3pRE7DAvpSRH7 This is easily a trip in the region of 150kms, so make sure you are fully fueled up upon arrival. We will stop around noon for a quick lunch so bring some snacks or salad/sandwich. (if you are not fasting). More info later this week with the convoy setup. Peace out !
  14. in that budget perhaps go check out Ford Explorer. Big and roomy and comfortable. Reliability could be less of course. Another option is Chevy Trailblazer.
  15. For 15k these days the only remaining options are: 1. Jeep Cherokee XJ. Fantastic offroad toy but will be like a project car (which can be fun too). 2. Pathfinder R50. Get the 3.5 engine, not the 3.3. Fantastic and fun offroader with spares available. 3. Pajero Gen 2 in 2-Door: Becoming very rare now and will also be needing regular attention. 4. Pajero Gen 3 in 2-Door: good option for this price, but many are not maintained well unfortunately. 2008 Xterra is now currently in the 20k range asking price, which might drop to 15 in summer season. Take into account another 5-6k at least in repairs to get it ready for offroading (bushings, mounts, all fresh fluids, etc...).
