  1. Great news @Imteeaz ! Welcome to support team ! Wish you lots of growth and shovel duties
  2. DRIVE REPORT Our morning started with a light drizzle and some clouds looming up ahead. Fortunately we were blessed with a great weather and a fantastic convoy ! @Stumpy Paj@DanielN@Hugo@[email protected]@Imran Asghar@Dinesh Kumar A@Andrei S@Pieter Potgieter@Amr Aydin@Vanessa8580 @Gurcharan Mehta Thank you so much for joining us. This was a relatively new area for me, and even though there was quite a bit of vegetation, there was a good blend of larger dunes and also some technical areas (small tight dunes) as well. Great support from @Imran Asgharand @Vanessa8580 kept us going smoothly with hardly any refusals or stucks. See you all soon in the sands again !

  5. The Pajeros pre-2011 seem to have the upshift issues from what I recalled. Easy to test before buying is to put in 1st gear and just floor it
  6. Hope your get better soon @Ashutosh Garg, @Gurcharan Mehta ive added you to the convoy list in Ashustosh his position (11) See you tomorrow morning !
  7. Hi @taz911 ! You’ve done your homework well so far. I would totally agree on the Pajero to be the best option as per your budget. The 3.8 is more powerful and actually more economical in fuel compared with the 3.5 from what I’ve heard. Another option would be an Xterra but prices are a bit overinflated right now because of the off-road season. They are more powerful but very basic in interior trim and a Pajero is a better daily driver imho. A Pathfinder might also be a decent option, the older boxy model, not the later models with horrendous low bumpers
  8. Drop them off in Al Wathba and drive through the desert.. Nahel is not that far 😁
  9. Good morning all ! I hope you are all looking forward to this drive. The plan is to explore an area which is not often visited by offroaders, and i hope that means we can find some nice virgin dunes. @Stumpy Paj@DanielN@Hugo@[email protected]@Imran Asghar@Dinesh Kumar A@Andrei S@Pieter Potgieter@Ashutosh Garg@Amr Aydin@Vanessa8580 I have appointed each of you a totem animal that will keep you safe on the drive. We will be using Channel 2 - 446.031 Mhz. Please make sure to bring your offroad gears as per your level. If there are any changes in the convoy list or dropouts, we will alter the convoy setup if needed the same morning. See you all soon !
  10. Reviving this topic since i started messing around with my Patrol. I have been looking for the best way to disable the following (in one go): 1. Traction Control 2. ESP 3. ABS Since i have seen kill switches being installed by some so called "reputable" workshops in an absolute horrendous way, i am looking for a clean setup that i can do myself. So far i have been disabling Traction control by using the button on the center console. and the ESP by pushing in the little button on the brake pedal (thanks @Imteeaz for sharing this). It is however a bit annoying that whenever you go to 4Lo or restart the engine you need to do the same procedure. Now the next step is to get the ABS disabled too. There are indeed a couple of fuses in the engine bay which could be removed but i'd rather not do that. After some small research i found there is a small 7.5 Amp mini-fuse in the fusebox underneath the steering wheel. If i remove that i noticed Traction control, ESP, and ABS all disabled in one go ! But weirdly enough speedometer stops working, and the odometer does not count anymore.... so that basically means my offroad miles are not being counted 😆 Next step will be to obtain something like this from Amazon: or this: And inbetween the red wires a small switch. That should hopefully work. If anyone has more experiences or other tricks/hacks please so share them.
  11. Looks like you have put yourself in "manage" If you click on "leave event", and then click on "add to waitlist" it should work. If not Gaurav can add you manually, no worries.
  12. No worries @Marketa Dobesovait's indeed because of the one-drive per weekend restriction. Just add yourself to the waitlist and we will move everyone in the going list. The more people the merrier !
  13. People who have been born and brought up here, must have tons of memories of the UAE landscape and nature. I would like to encourage every member here to help us take a trip down memory lane and post whichever photos you have lying around, or what you have found online. (mention the source). Focus is on Nature (deserts and mountains) and Offroad. Source: These unseen photos of Abu Dhabi transport you to another era (thenationalnews.com)
  14. Hi @ObiWanAkNoobiwelcome to the forum and club ! The Y62 is a very capable offroader, but it's delicate spots are: 1. The front and rear bumper. This is the first thing that will come off after a couple of drives. So either get them trimmed or replaced by a shorter model. 2. big stock rims that do not allow for tyres with a bigger sidewall. A smaller size rim would help. The skid plate or bash plate is a very good addition for offroading and definitely a good investment. Wheels and shocks i would not touch for now, as you are new into offroading and will still need to learn the basics first. With your stock suspension and wheels you will be fine. Once you have done 10-15 drives you will be in a better position to understand what you could/would need. @MMansoor@Lawrence_Chehimi@salah2u @Chaitanya D all drive or have driven Y62 and can advise you further.
