  1. For a moment there, you were inbetween a rock and a hard place
  2. @Anoop Nair@Pascal@Andrew McCarthy@Zed@Imran Kashif Great morning out in the sand with this SUPER convoy ! Thanks @Anoop Nair for the very reliable second lead, and @Zed for brushing at the back @Imran Kashif it shows you’ve been driving all summer. Good control ! @Pascal you’re like a Swiss watch: we can always count on you whenever there’s a party in Abu Dhabi Terrain ! @Andrew McCarthy and Nigel: Nigel looked happy today and was in awe of what Andrew is doing with that poor Pajero 😂. And now that we’ve found our new ADNOC, we’ll be going back there very soon !
  3. Hi @Naim Aoun Ideally it should be a low profile, this will help to get it installed underneath the vehicle. The model you posted (big red) would do the job, but if you find a model with a wider footprint that would be even better. JZX has decent models as well. The 12V electric one is..... question mark and might fail just at the time you need it. I would not go that direction.
  4. @Anoop Nair@Pascal@Andrew McCarthy@Zed@Imran Kashif Great to see you guys having signed up for this drive ! I have been out of the sand for a while, but looking forward to getting stuck and to getting my feet sandy again

  7. The weather was definitely in our favor today. Upon arrival @Paul Zietsman and his son were spotting scorpions at the meeting point and it didn’t take long for the rest of the gang to join us. With @Murtaza Bhuria in second lead, who drove effortlessly even though he’d been out for a while, @Lucas behind him, followed by @Paul Zietsman and a very capable sweeper @DP1011 , Deepak wrangler we had a small convoy today and everyone drove great. I was actually glad to have that handful of small stucks so we got to enjoy the beautiful weather As time was running out, we quickly zipped through Murquab, even though this terrain has amazing scenery and dunes but we’ll keep that for the next time. Thanks to all for joining this morning ! See you soon in the sand again!

  9. Very good topic. We have done 5-10 Full Day Drives in the last years, which can be considered light overlanding drives and where we can bring family along. We did coast to coast, sand to mountain, etc.. and these are indeed a good alternative to the shorter "bashing" drives. For me personally, real overlanding is more fun in Oman, but that would require sorting visas, and setting up multiple smaller convoys (you don't want to be on the highway covering long distances with more than 5-6 cars). In Oman you can cover the wadis, and camp in different places. When the season cools down you can definitely expect to see some of those activities emerging.
