  1. As the sand was quite compact it allowed us to venture a bit deeper into the dunes today, which meant a bit more technical compared with the usual scenic drives. But with such a strong convoy and support, there was no stopping us. @Saniyah hats off for your first offroad drive, hardly one week after obtaining your driver's license. This makes you the youngest Carnity member! I am sure dad is extremely proud of what you accomplished today! Thanks to the smooth second lead @_Herman_, the anchor in the middle @J-P L, and @Danie looking after the back of the convoy, we were in good hands and it was a blessing to have your help. We covered a very respectable 40km today. As mentioned earlier this week, this will be a gentle scenic drive through the beautiful dunes Sharjah, RAK, and UAQ have on offer. A perfect drive to bring your camera and the family as well if they are keen. Some pointers as preparation for tomorrow: 1. Try to arrive by 06.45AM. This way you will have time to deflate, set up your flag, and poor out a coffee or light a cigarette prior to the briefing 2. Bring your Newbie gears: shovel, walkie talkie, offroad flag, compressor, and deflator/pressure gauge. See you all tomorrow morning!

  4. Hey @Saniyah welcome to Carnity! Jeff the FJ has been tried and tested so that's fine. See you on Sunday!
  5. This was indeed a challenging morning, with fog reducing the visibility to less than 10m on the way to the meeting point. Once we finished the briefing, both convoys headed out for a spin in the foggy dunes. Due to the low visibility and the very compact sand, we had very little trouble and kept it easy by making nice loops in the beautiful dunes of Faya. We reached the foxes' den around 1hr and 15mins into the drive and took a break while trying to spot some foxes. My original plan of exiting at the Tilal Sweihan racetrack ADNOC worked out in the end as everyone drove like a champ and we were able to keep a good flow. I was kinda happy seeing @bruno.sousa getting crested and at least we could get some cardio in Thanks to the great support for @ChrisW and @Andrew John Melvill, and with @JC_E polishing my tracks, it was an extremely smooth drive and i actually loved the radio silence and scenic views. Even more so when some camels came to say hello during the drive. Thanks again to @Asif Hussain for taking a second convoy, which resulted in an empty waitlist and everyone having at least a drive this weekend. Much appreciated my friend. If you have some photos from the drive, feel free to post them in our gallery: Newbie - Starting Fresh in Al Fayah - Abu Dhabi - 04 Jan 2026 - Carnity.com See you all soon in the sands!
  6. Hats off @DG707 for driving all the way to Abu Dhabi for your first club drive! Stay tuned for more drives coming up soon, i love driving in Sharjah and RAK during the winter. That will be at least much closer to your doorstep.
