RSVP IS NOW CLOSED @Ben Lee@Cyril de Masfrand@aston@juoffroad@Ana@Imran Asghar@Alex K@Paul Eldho@Kirill K@Zsolt@Kushal Thakkar@[email protected].@Suneedh Wrangler@Mei ling@Ishak Thank you all for signing up for this drive. Thanks to the great support we will be able to stretch the convoy a little bit. No doubt it will be big fun Some small pointers for tomorrow: 1) Please try to arrive by 6:45, so you have time to deflate, set up your flag, and pour yourself a cup of coffee if you like If you need help with deflating don't be afraid to ask. There will be supporting team members and myself walking around to assist you when needed. 2) We will be using Channel 4 on our walkie talkie. That is 446.081 Mhz. If you have any issues with setting up your radio, have a look at the drive topic here. We can also help out tomorrow if needed. 3) When you arrive, you can start deflating your tires to 14-15psi if you have HT (highway tires). In case of All Terrain (AT) tires you can deflate a bit further down to 12psi. See you all tomorrow morning !

2010 Nissan Xterra Offroad - without VDC
Frederic replied to US25's topic in Nissan Xterra Forum in UAE
We can't recommend workshops here. But i would simply recommend getting the following checked on the first time you take it for maintenance. The Xterra is not a complicated car, so any decent mechanic should be able to verify the following: - Engine oil and filter - when was it last replaced ? - Air filter - Air intake hoses - no cracks or damage ? - Coolant level - Differential front and rear fluids. - Steering fluid level - Brake fluid level - Transmission oil - when was it last replaced ? - Transfer case oil - when was it last replaced ? - suspension, shocks, bushings, balljoints inspection - spark plugs - when were they last replaced ? - injectors - when were they last cleaned ? - Tires - still in acceptable condition for off-roading ? When we purchased our 2008 Xterra, we spent another 10-15k to get the car the way we wanted it (maintenance wise) because there was no service history at all and we did not want to take any risks. -

wind noise and creaks are normal on Xterras What you get in return is power and fun. Did you get the car inspected in a workshop already? This might avoid suprises like 4WD not engaging on the morning of your first drive -

Great idea on getting an Xterra instead of damaging your main car. This is the most commonly used strategy. The kill switch is basically just a small switch that can be installed by an offroad garage that will disable your traction control completely. Which is definitely necessary for offroading in the sand. The rear diff locker is a very nice addition to any offroad vehicle, and will help in self recovery. It is not a must have if you drive in a convoy, as there will always be people to help you, but it's a great feeling to switch it on and being able to slowly crawl out of your stuck situation. Does not always work but will help a lot. Take note to get the rear differential checked, because the rear diff for the Offroad models are different and are very very hard to find. I've heard cases of people looking for months trying to find one. -

Gaia GPS For Beginners - 2024 Update
Frederic replied to Frederic's topic in Off-Road Club's Discussions
Have a look at Backtrack: Maps for Backcountry Adventures. if you are an Iphone user. I am in touch with the developer and he is updating the app based on some of my feedback. There are still pending updates such as showing the track while recording, and many other small things, but with some time and dedication i believe this app can become a serious competitor for Gaia. -

Unless the subscription automatically renewed ? I'm afraid if you do a logout and login, you will be losing the features. For me after the subscription ended the Satellite maps disappeared. -
