  1. Small thing to add: Gaia has a desktop version, which is very useful to store, edit, or make new tracks from the comfort of your desktop PC. www.gaiagps.com
  2. in October of last year, I eagerly wanted to gain a bit more confidence to explore the desert in a safe way, after looking for a suitable ride and falling in love with my little ‘ol blue 99. My friend who joined me during the newbie drive that day couldn’t for the love of the world grasp why we would want to toil in sweat and sand on a day off, but i was sold from day one, and the camaraderie and help I got from the start onwards makes every ride REALLY something to look forward too (believe me if I say that nothing else would get me out of bed at 3am....😂). Looking forward to many many more drives to come, karak chai to sip, parathas to eat, and laughs to be had ! A heartful thanks to all people who attended the drives together and the seniors who took me under their wings.
  3. Thanks buddy, you did great today ! No worries about that little blue Pajero of mine, most of it can be fixed with a hammer, duct tape, and some tie wraps 😂
  4. Welcome to the daily fight and road struggles buddy. I consider myself a very patient driver, but sometimes bite into my steering wheel from all the idiots I see on the road and do not seem to grasp the ability to: - stay in their lane - take a roundabout like they should - leave their phone alone for 5 mins - tailgating others and think that’s normal - thinking that their bigger car does NOT mean we should move for them. I gladly take a longer route every day via the E611 that takes me 15 mins longer to reach, but without too much stress.
  5. The 3.0 6G72 SOHC engine which i have in mine is not the same as Gaurav his 3.5 Mivec DOHC beast, which is super rare. Id love to add some horses to my ride too and that was on my bucketlist, but after a head gasket blowout, followed by a complete rebuild I’ve tucked away those plans and decided to spend my time in getting the best out of the car by driving smart and taking peace with what i have. An underpowered car can be a blessing sometimes, and once you’ll see what @Rahimdad does with his 3.3, And @shadow79 with his RAV4 you will be amazed 😉
  6. Keep us posted on what the plans are and how you’re planning to gain 30-40hp.
  7. You probably hear this question from the petrol attendant every single time: "Special or Super, sir ?" In UAE, the octane level of Special is 95, while Super is 98. I've been refueling Special-95 for as long as i can remember. After all, with the higher petrol prices, every Dirham matters. The following claims are made, please help me in debunking or confirming them based on your experiences and opinions: * It is claimed that the Super-98 has more fuel additives, making it less likely to have your injectors clogged up ? Fact or Myth ? * It is claimed that people 'feel' their car is more powerful when running on Super. Fact or Myth ? (supercars vs commuter vehicles...) * Who knows or checks his vehicles manual to verify if the car is recommended to run on 95 or 98 ?
  8. Thanks buddy this makes my day ! 100 points to @Javier M 😂

The good thing is that it triggers us to dig back into the old Tool stuff. Lateralus has been pumping my car stereo last days. Brought back lots of memories 😆

  12. Hey Yas ! Welcome back ! And one serious topic to start off with 😆. I have seen some stuff on Instagram and had a look at some foreign forums a year back for the same reason. From what I’ve seen there is no straight simple swap to one of these engines, and if you find the capable guy to do so, you’re probably looking at a 40k AED job or even much higher. On top of that RTA will not pass this so you won’t be able to register the car anymore. My two cents: you’re currently driving a 3.8 which is a very capable off-roader. What would be the main reason for the upgrade ? Don’t get me wrong i also think it’s super cool to have a beast like that, but you should consider that many people do these engine swaps without upgrading cooling systems, brakes, safety devices, which makes the car a death ride and not suitable for long off-road drives, rather for going on Faya and showing off. The risk of tipping over and serious incidents is much higher too. I guess you don’t want to end up on a YouTube channel called “UAE desert Fails” or something. if anyone could pull it off, it would be @Barry
  13. The part about the Mexican seems correct. Now let your moustache grow and you are spot on !
