  2. Upto fewbie level just pull the air bag fuse. The traction and ESP from fewbie + onwards.
  3. Hi @Alex Sidorov just before the drive starts, you remove the fuse and put it back once done with the drive. The large yellow fuse just lifts up but stays in the slot, it will not come out, just lift it up fully and after the drive push it back down. When you do this, the annoying beep will start once you begin driving but will cut off after 1 minute or when you touch 20kmph. Just remember 3 things before the drive, deflate, put up your flag and remove fuse. After the drive, inflate, remove flag and put fuse back. 1st pic is the fuse in place, 2nd pic it is out.
  4. @varunmehndiratta we meet at 7 and have a quick briefing before we start the drive. Try and reach a bit early to deflate and put up your flag so you are ready by 7.

  9. @Alex Sidorov it should be fine for a newbie drive, however I would suggest removing the lower fascia of the front bumper as you can never be too careful in the desert. As much as the leads keep every car in mind during the drive, there are times when if you make a small mistake you may end up with the lower fascia scraping the sand. It is made in a way that it can be removed and put back pretty easily. There are a few videos on YouTube showing how to do it and no additional tools are required. As far as the paint is concerned, I wouldnt say nothing will happen as the chances of stone chips flying into you from the car in front are higher in the desert than on tarmac. It does not happen very often but I would not say it never will.
  10. @ZakWarah The selec terrain system is pretty good and does exactly what it's supposed to. On the other hand all the safety features the JGC come with are brilliant on tarmac but can be a real pain in the sand. When you use the sand mode, although the system shows traction is off, it is not off 100% and if it senses extra wheel spin it will overwrite the select terrain system and kick in. The only way to completely kill the traction ESC and ABS would be to install a kill switch. Also note that the transmission on the JGC is adaptive and if you have been driving on tarmac only it recognizes your driving style and you would notice the upshifts happen very fast. The more you start driving in the desert the more the DTCM will learn and it does get better over time with the upshifting. For this in particular, there is no work around, you give it time to learn or you use the manual or paddle shift. Whenever you go off-road, please remember to pull the airbag fuse. It is very sensitive and can just go off if the sensors detect a 90 degree tilt which is very often when riding dunes.

  12. @Satish Mungse this drive is for newbies and above only. As you have not yet done an absolute newbie drive, please remove your RSVP from this drive and sign up for an absolute newbie drive first. @Dodi Syahdar I see you have RSVP for this drive and also for the afternoon drive. Please choose any 1 drive for now and you can put your name on the waitlist for a second drive. This would give other drivers a chance to rsvp for atleast 1 drive over the weekend. On Wednesday, if there are still spots available after everyone has got at least 1 drive, you can be added to the convoy for a second drive.
  13. Thank you to each one of you for the well wishes. Its been quite a journey and I for 1one have enjoyed every bit of it. Look forward to being able to share all what I have learnt with the new off roaders. @Gaurav @Rahimdad @Srikumar @Emmanuel @Frederic @Asif Hussain thank you for all the support and advice through this journey. Its been one hell of a ride with learning the art of off roading from scratch to taming the JGC or Black Stallion as Sri named it. Rahim bhai, the intent was never to prove you wrong with the JGC, every bit of advice you shared helped and I just tried to work on all the areas you told me the JGC falls short on. There are still a few drawbacks and it will never be the perfect off road vehicle for all the automated controls that come with it. IF I am able to handle it well today, a lot of credit for that goes to you. Please tell your wife that those late nights didn't go in vain. @Ale Vallecchi @Wrangeld @Jeepie @Vanessa8580 @Chaitanya D @Desert Dweller @Foxtrot Oscar @sertac @Shamil @Tbone @Lorenzo Candelpergher @Janarthan @Pancho @Luca Palanca Falsini @Mehmet Volga @Anish S @Yousef Alimadadi @Nivin you guys as part of the advisor group have also been a big support and thank you all for the help and advice when needed. Looking forward to what comes with this new level and hopefully live upto the expectations. See you in the sand.
