  3. Hi @Mads. This week I will be travelling. No mid-week drive this time. After March 23rd most likely. Thanks for asking.
  4. Dear Desertnauts let's get ready for tomorrow's drive. We'll start just past the exit for Lisaili, opposite a truck stop area, corresponding to the entry point to a set of long-range dunes, between Lisaili's camel practice track and Margham's farms. The dunes are almost clean of shrubs here, with occasional bushes and tufts of grass, until we'll reach the classic Lisaili off-roading area. We'll likely encounter camels, as we move parallel to the pylon track, until we reach an open area, which we'll use to cross the pylons, and to reach the Qudra Lakes actual area. Here we'll face two sets of technical dunes, very close to each other, with some bushes. As soon as we reach the proximity of Love Lake we'll enter a dream-like location, with blinding white sand, and absolutely no bushes: a true miracle. Lots of gazelles populate this area, due to its abundance of water and trees surrounding it. Here we'll roam back and forth, progressing from south to north, and slowly approaching our planned exit, just past Love Lake, close to Qudra's Last Exit. The convoy order will be the following: @Rodas in Second Lead @JC_E at #3 @Shary at #4 @Carl Stanley at #5 @Looper at Center @Pramod B at #7 @Misha Puskar at #8 @Abhishek Chikara at #9 @J-P L at #10 and @Aser in Sweep Looking forward to seeing you a little before 8:00 AM, to allow a prompt departure. Have a nice Saturday evening.
  5. Thanks for joining the drive @MadsTry here for the Gallery: https://carnity.com/gallery/
  6. Dear Desertnauts, thanks a lot for joining this spur of the moment drive. Not much to say, other than let's have fun, in a relaxing drive, with plenty of climbs and descents, trying to beat the rush of sundowners that usually clogs Badayer's tallest star dunes. The convoy order at the moment looks like the following: @Glenn W in Second Lead @Mads at #3 @Jose Luis Campos at #4 @Gautam Banka at Center @JAISROCK at #6 @Alex M at #7 and @Senthil Kumar in Sweep. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow to start at 3:00 PM. Meeting point will be posted shortly (at Badayer Shops).

Drive Details Level: Fewbie and above (all levels) Meeting time: 08:00 AM Meeting Point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/NBkj2dcSeG85oDtB8 Action Plan: From Lisaili's (almost entirely) clean dunes, alongside E66, a straight run toward Qudra's Love Lakes and the Last Exit, just at the end of D63, across a variety of terrains, mostly fast (except a small set of technical dunes), to end the drive at the pristine, blinding white Qudra's Secret Dunes. Fun, fast (as much as possible) and new. One never knows when there may be the need to take an off-road shortcut between highways 😆 What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, face masks, rubber gloves, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn. Approximate finish time: 12:00 PM P.S. Only join if you have a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive.

  10. Hi @Glenn W. Sure, I can take 1 more expert driver. See you tomorrow. But you'll have to Sweep. Thanks
  11. Dear Desertnauts, a quick briefing before tomorrow's drive. In a nutshell, it should be a fun, relatively fast drive, in an almost unspoiled area, so close to Dubai and yet apparently so far away. We'll open the drive, and will close it, zigzagging on white sand, and long cordons of not very tall dunes, providing plenty of opportunity for side-sloping and crisscrossing. In the middle, we'll cross a small sabkha to enter two fields of quite tight dunes, that will slow us down, and force us to switch to a very patient, finesse style of driving. The convoy order is as follows: @khlief in Second Lead @Shary at #3 @Sam Selim at #4 @Nicolò at #5 @Aadi at #6 @Emanuel in the Center @Jose Luis Campos at #8 @Guido Ferriani at #9 @JAISROCK at #10 @Ben Lee at #11 and @lucas amat in Sweep Please fill up your tank at Qudra Last Exit's ADNOC station. See you all tomorrow, with the goal of starting as close to 3:00 PM as possible.
  12. Dear @Alex M, since I have not seen your promotion to Fewbie come through (unfortunately), I'll sign you out from this drive (you'll surely be able to sign up as Fewbie next week). At the same time @Nicolò you will automatically bu signed up for the drive: please conform if OK. Thanks a lot to both.
  13. Dear @Alex M, thanks for signing up for this Friday's drive. I saw that at the moment you are still listed as a Newbie. I would have to sign you out of the drive, which is Fewbie level and above. Sorry for the inconvenience. I hope to see you at the next opportunity. Thanks for understanding.

Drive Details Level: Fewbie and above (all levels) Meeting time: 03:00 PM Meeting Point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/jkoDHivGcprnQqf68 Action Plan: Even though the greater rainfall of the latest few years has caused an explosion of vegetation, which has transformed parts of Dubai's deserts into gardens, there is an area, unexpectedly close to the city and to one of its most visited desert attractions - the Love Lakes - that has remained pristine and almost completely clean of shrubs and grasses. We'll "discover" this dune field, with its white sand, and criss-cross it from top to bottom. To add to the explorative nature of the drive we'll cross into a more complex dune field, mostly technical, just opposite Lisaili. Fun, exotic and new, with the possibility of increase the pace, or enjoy a more finesse style of driving. What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, face masks, rubber gloves, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn. Approximate finish time: 6:30 PM P.S. Only join if you have a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive.

  16. Dear @Abdullah A. and @Aadi, sorry for my late reply. I was travelling back to Dubai and couldn't see your messsges. Unfortunately I am unable to extend the convoy, due to the drive's level and nature of the terrain. Sorry for the inconvenience. Hope to see you another time. Have a nice weekend.
  17. Dear Desertnauts. First of all the meeting place: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Vv7bXHV7dBALSjsg8 This is in Nahil, where we'll start to find immediately the beautiful Nahil Lakes, and will proceed to reach the Pac Man farms, as our first landmark of the drive. We'll progress through long cordons of open dunes toward a couple of tall dunes and deep bowls, before entering a sabkha and switching to a fun stretch of long gentle and wide open dunes, where we can speed. The convoy's order is the following (with higher ranked members each guiding a Fewbie driver): @Jeandre Bezuidenhout in Second Lead @essam ibrahim at #3 @Emanuel at #4 @Stuart G at #5 @Andrew John Melvill at Center @Sam Selim at #7 @Dan S at #8 @Jose Luis Campos at #9 @Abhishek Chikara at #10 @ArSaLaN at #11 and @Alexanderrr in Sweep Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, ready to go at 2:30PM
  18. Dear @Aadi and @Stuart G, sorry for the mistake. The drive is FEWBIE level and above drive, NOT a Fewbie Plus. Thanks for noticing.
