MUST READ AND COMPLY Environmental Policy Offroad Flag Guideline Two Way Radio Guideline Off road Driving Etiquette's Emergency details for all off-roaders Off Road Driving - Roles & Responsibilities Drive Details Level: Fewbie and above Meeting time: 3:30 PM Meeting Point: TBC Action Plan: An impromptu drive to enjoy the stormy weather in the desert. Just looking to visit Badayer at one of the few times when sunsetters should surely not be crowding the slopes of the many star dunes, and to experience the smoother sand, the winds and the rain on the windshields. Great opportunity for pictures, stories, and most of all, good fun and adventure. Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn. Approximate finish time: 6:30 PM P.S. Only join if you have a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive. LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE: This drive is limited to 12 cars only. RSVP will close on Saturday at noon. If the RSVP is full, you can add your name to the waitlist. Once anyone drops, you will be moved to the RSVP list. RSVP will close a day prior to preparing a convoy list. Latecomers will be returned back - Without any exceptions. Members without RSVP will be returned back - Without any exceptions. Please withdraw your RSVP, if you aren't joining, so your spot can be taken by others. A technical area that will present plenty of challenges to more experienced drivers. If the challenges turn out not to be enough, we may cross Faya Truck Rd. to enter proper Faya and continue east toward Sweihan. A simple plan, yet not easy to accomplish, with an exploration flavor especially of the last segment of the track, within a set of cordons that will become increasingly tight and complex. Dear Desertnauts. Thanks a lot for joining the second Drive for Peace" exit. As you have seen from Carnity's announcements page, there is in place e new Safety Protocol in place. Find it here: Keep in mind that the drive has already BEEN CONFIRMED, so please proceed to the meeting point as scheduled, regardless of local alerts, unless you do not feel to join and choose to drop out. In this case, PLEASE POST ON THE THREAD YOUR DECISION TO DROP OUT even at the last minute, so I can receive it and make sure the convoy doesn't wait pointlessly. Other than this, the drive will proceed across the hard-faces from the entry along E14 road (Faqa to Ghantoot), all the way to the E20, in the proximity of Nahil, cross over to Nahil's side, and aim toward Sweihan Farms, just outside Sweihan town. The convoy should line up as follows: @Andrew John Melvill in Second Lead @MarkH at #3 @khurram at #4 @Aser at Center @Sebastian Nohse at #6 @_Piotr_ at #7 and @J-P L in Sweep. See you tomorrow in time for a timely departure. Have a nice and safe Saturday evening.

Dear @Glenn W, @MarkH, @_Piotr_, @Sebastian Nohse, @khurram, @J-P L, @Andrew John Melvill and @Aser, just a note. This drive is confirmed regardless of possible alerts on Sunday morning. All other precautionary measures remain in place during the drive, and of course each member is free to drop off at any time if he so chooses. Thanks for your cooperation.

The drive will be partially an exploration drive (the first part) and partly it will trace back a classic track from Nahil to Sweihan. Just another pleasant exit, to take our minds off the latent stress of hearing booms and shrieking alarms. The only noises will be those of our engines, and perhaps that of the wind on the sand. Dear Desertnauts About tomorrow's drive, we will aim to execute a medium to long-range drive, entering near the farms of Al Ajban, North-West of Sweihan, and exit close to Faqa (on E14 Rd.), for 70+ kilometers. The landscape will be varied, with clean dunes at the beginning, more vegetation around the middle, and an almost "post-industrial" section, dotted with small farms, some abandoned "plants", and other curiosities toward the end. The convoy order will be a "one-on-one" tutoring scheme, with each higher ranked member leading a lower rank driver, as follows: @J-P L in Second Lead @Taka at #3 @Danie at #4 @MarkH at #5 @Bjoern at Center 1 @Stumpy at #7 @Sebastian Nohse at #8 @ChrisW at Center 2 @Eddie-Dune-Glider at #10 @Bravoecho at #11 @Krinesh at #12 @Aser at Center 3, and @Glenn W in Sweep. See you tomorrow at 8:30 at https://maps.app.goo.gl/9iG4Gdu7wnp5mirX6 for a prompt departure. Have a great Saturday evening.

Off-roading allows us to get a view of the country that not everyone has, driving through nature, open terrain, and rural areas. Thanks to this privilege, we'll approach this drive with the desire to enjoy the landscape and the company, with a smile on our faces. No hurry, no stress, just pure fun and full relaxation. We'll leave from the dunes north of Al Ajban, to cross large farms, and proceed toward Faqa, through a very mixed terrain, with plenty of life, both animal and human. Just what is needed !! Dear Desrtnauts. First and foremost a quick heads-up: in spite of the international situation across the Gulf, the conditions on the ground in Dubai do not warrant, for the moment, the cancellation of the drive. Therefore, we are still good to go. JUST ONE WARNING: UNTIL AROUND 1 HOUR BEFORE THE DRIVE (7:00 AM), I WILL BE MONITORING ANY POSSIBLE NEW ORDERS ISSUED BY DUBAI POLICE OR ANY OTHER AUTHORITY THAT MAY PROHIBIT MOBILITY AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES. In case, I will personally contact each one of you, if a cancellation becomes necessary. Other than this, please remember a couple of things: kindly have a radio available, and make sure it's fully charged make sure you refuel at Qudra's ADNOC gas station The drive will be preceded by a thorough briefing, when detailed information will be shared about choice of tires, deflation, minimum necessary tools, meaning of momentum, significance of gravity, and about driving skills such as convoy discipline, straight crossings, side sloping and dune switching) and environmental awareness (reading dunes, orientation principles, safety tips. The convoy order will be the following: @Shary in Second Lead @Hartzel at #3 @Yerem Davtyan at #4 @Nikki1007 at #5 @J-P L in the Center @Raj K at #7 @Arravind at #8 @Pramod Sathyaseelan at #0 and @Andrew John Melvill in Sweep. Hoping to see you all tomorrow, I kindly remind you to check the thread before leaving home, in case I have to post about a cancellation (which at the moment seems unlikely). Have a nice Saturday evening.

Dear Desertnauts. A very short briefing before tomorrow's drive. The goal is to zip from December 2nd Cafeteria's entry point, just next to Pink Rock, through the "Tall Dune Next to Big Red", Big Red itself, and all the "star dunes" across the highway, starting from Badayer Shops all the way down to Area 51, climbing every slope, including Iftar and Super Bowl. The goals are no less then 1,000 meters of climbs, as well as an average moving speed of min. 25 Km/h (which will be made challenging due to the several technical areas that separates the various star dunes). The convoy order will be: @Sam Selim in Second Lead @Paul Eldho at #3 @Ash S. at #4 @Hani crest king at Center @Nicolò at #6 @_Herman_ at #7 and @Fabien Monleau in Sweep. See you tomorrow at 2:30 in front of December 2nd Cafeteria. Ramadan Kareem to all.

Dear Desertnauts a short briefing before tomorrow's drive. We'll try to join a few waypoints from Sweihan's farms, moving first in a south-eastern direction across the wide-open cordons leading to the first sabkha crossing, turning south here, to cross a couple of more technical stretches of sand, then skirting Nagra dune (which I'd rather avoid to stay away from the heavy tracks that surely crisscross it in wintertime), before turning gently west, to reach the lower border of "Africa". We'll try to cover as much ground as possible, relying on the convoy's experience to make the right decisions, and move with good speed across the multiple and diverse segments of this drive. The convoy order will be: @Aser in Second Lead @Suneedh Wrangler at #3 @Abdullah A. at #4 @Ash S. at #5 @Yury.bel at #6 @Sam Selim at Center @Danie at #8 @Gautam Banka at #9 @Krinesh at #10 @Diego at #11 @Stumpy at #12 and @Bjoern in Sweep. See you tomorrow morning. Have a nice Saturday evening.
