  1. MUST READ AND COMPLY Environmental Policy Offroad Flag Guideline Two Way Radio Guideline Off road Driving Etiquette's Emergency details for all off-roaders Off Road Driving - Roles & Responsibilities First time with Carnity Off-road Club: Please share your vehicle details - Make, Model, Color, and Year. Do you have any prior off-road experience? If yes, pls share details. Confirm your vehicle has front and rear tow hooks/eyelets. Advise if you don’t have a programmable radio and safety flag. MUST WATCH: NEWBIE VIDEO BRIEFING Drive Details Level: Newbie and above (NO ABSOLUTE NEWBIES) Meeting time: 8:00 AM Meeting Point: https://goo.gl/maps/cTHmtYxAqW878k5W8 Action Plan: While many drivers aspiring to master off-roading in the UAE are looking to learn how to perform long climbs, side-sloping and dune bashing in general, the way most off-roaders drive worldwide is in the context of overlanding, often for days in a row, to cover long distances where no roads exist. Particularly in the deserts of Northern Africa, where sand is present (but only covers about 20% of the Sahara, for example), dunes are often driven along rather than across, endurance driving is more important than short-term showing off, and dunes are looked at with awe and respect, instead of being gutted and defiled. This drive aims to transmit a little of the passion for overlanding that will come in handy to those who will, one day, choose to cross long distances off-road. At the same time, since we will cross mixed terrains with mainly sandy surfaces, and we'll have to manage some crossings of dunes and bowls, we'll also practice the Newbie skills that are necessary to complete this and any other drive at this level (straight up and down crossings, side-sloping, and some ascents and descents). Covering 100Km is the main goal of the day, while having the opportunity to visit some beautiful areas, with pristine dunes, rock formations, a couple of natural lakes, farms and some local fauna. Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn. Approximate finish time: 12:30 PM P.S. Only join if you have a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive. LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE: This drive is limited to 12 cars only. RSVP will close on Saturday at noon. If the RSVP is full, you can add your name to the waitlist. Once anyone drops, you will be moved to the RSVP list. RSVP will close a day prior to preparing a convoy list. Latecomers will be returned back - Without any exceptions. Members without RSVP will be returned back - Without any exceptions. Please withdraw your RSVP, if you aren't joining, so your spot can be taken by others. Repeated no-show members after RSVP will have their account suspended for a month. Please RSVP on below calendar
  2. Dear Desertnauts a straightforward, yet not obvious, drive: 3 technical areas, each with different shape of dunes and vegetation, three large sabkhas, very wide, likely muddy, where high seed is of the essence, and a final stretch of clean dunes, from which the Ghost Roads emerge from the sands. We'll take a break on the second sabkha, where the skeletons of cars and containers riddled with projectile's holes are the remnants of a drones and artillery shooting ground. The meeting point is here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/hmQGeJAvLgvJxNmJ9 The convoy order will be as follows: @Jessica Lambert in Second Lead @Soap at #3 @Abdullah A. at #4 @Krinesh at #5 @Johannes Roux at #5 @Aser at Center @Diego at #7 @Ahmed Farouk at #8 @Giacomo at #9 @Hani crest king at #10 and @Mike M. in Sweep. You should be able to fill up the tank at ADNOC Service Station Al Razeen 128. See you tomorrow in time for an 8:30 AM departure. Have a nice Saturday
  3. Hi @Jessica Lambert. Sorry for seeing your email so late. Sure you are welcome to join. Please sign up in the Manage tab. Thanks a lot.

We'll cross 3 different technical areas, with diverse sand conditions and landscapes, separated by 3 large sabkhas, one of which is an old (we hope 😁) testing ground for military ordinance and drones!! We'll arrive at an old residential development, where the tarmac road grid had been laid out, and has been then half buried by the sand over time (another truly post-apocalyptic scene). Great opportunity to cause-play Mad Max, Fury Road. Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Approximate finish time: 12:30 PM P.S. 5. Dear Desertnauts. Preparing for tomorrow's drive, some info and a consideration. As far as info, the location is a mostly undriven area with three cordons of dunes, squeezed between a mostly flat area and the farms bordering E16 road to Sweihan (from where we'll enter). These cordons are quite tight, with some taller dunes, perhaps quite sharp on top. We'll drive up and down these 3 cordons, until we reach the tip, jammed against another farm area, and then we'll move north-east to cross a flatter area of low and long dunes, to reach another few cordons, closer to the Faqa Road. There is no exit toward Faqa from here, so we'll then double back toward Sweihan, to exit where we'll have entered. The consideration is about the high number of long trucks participating in the convoy. This will be a great opportunity for the truck drivers to test the finesse and control of their driving technique, skillfully using the power of their engine only when needed, and at the same time driving smoothly and gently to preserve relatively clean tracks for the trucks coming behind each one. The convoy order at the moment is: @Steve Farmer in Second Lead @UvinOverland at #3 @Albert_Spa at #4 @Noufal at #5 @Rawad Ahmad at #6 (truck) @Infaz at #7 (truck) @Eddie-Dune-Glider at #8 (truck) @Nabeel Abdul Rahman at #9 (truck), and @Krinesh (truck) in Sweep - please confirm if you are actually joining. See you tomorrow a few minutes before 8:30 AM, so we can leave on time. Find the meeting and deflation point posted on the drive's thread. Have a nice Saturday.
  6. Hi @Krinesh. Do you confirm that you do not want to join the drive? I see you are still in. Thanks for letting me know.

Drive Details Level: Fewbie and above (all levels) Meeting time: 8:30 AM (SHARP - Without any exceptions) Meeting Point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/skZsmBRbnGk7TdK86 Action Plan - The rarely driven side of Sweihan, to its north-west, along the road from E16 road to Al Ain. This is where we plan to go, only after not more than 3 drives, we plan to return here next weekend. We'll find a long set of parallel dunes to drive along, with relatively high but tight slopes, that will require good control and skills to cross. Next to it, across from a more technical area, another cordon, further to the west, with also nice long range dunes and a few taller ones. A new area to explore, and build experience. Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Approximate finish time: 12:30 PM P.S. Only join if you have a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive.

  9. Hi @Piotr1. You drove well today. I suggest you go through the normal Carnity channels of asking on the website and see what the Advisors have to say. The only limitation of having 3 drives completed is that you will have a feedback limited to the leaders who led your drives and the Support Team members who assisted. It's worth the try. Good luck.
  10. Good morning @ash. Checking if you are in the way. Your profile is blocked and cannot call your number. Thanks.
  11. Good morning @Mohammed Osama. I have an extra one, but I have not recharged it. It indicates a full batttery and may last the drive. Also we can see if anybody jas an extra one at the meeting point. You may come and see.if we find one, but it may be at your risk. Will not be able to drive withkit a fully functioning one. Up to you.
  12. Dear Desertnauts about tomorrow's drive, this would be a premiere drive in terms of testing the skills of Newbie drivers who feel ready to make a move toward the next rank. As we have defined the rank of Fewbie Plus for Fewbie members with at least 5 drives at rank, so we have created, even if for just this drive, the Newbie Plus unofficial rank. This means that we'll make sure that all Newbie members can drive as close as possible to the Fewbie level. This will entail an overall faster speed, with which we'll practice side-slopes, ridge-riding, as well as trying switching dunes with criss-crossing maneuvers. The meeting point has been posted, just further along the Sweihan-Al Ain Rd. Be aware that Google Maps will send you from Sweihan along a dirt track, parallel to the highway. You may also reach it, if you prefer, by taking the highway, and making the first U-turn back to Sweihan, to reach the entry gate. The convoy order at the moment is the following: @ash in Second Lead @Taka at #3 @Jabir at #4 @Gunjan Jain at #5 @Piotr1 at #6 @Aser at Center @UvinOverland at #8 @saumik1989 at #9 @Krinesh at #10 and @frederic demolder in Sweep. See you all tomorrow morning just before 8:30, which I would hope to be the actual starting drive. Have a nice Saturday evening. Thanks @Mohammed Osama well noted. I will correct the convoy order. I guess that @Gunjan Jain must have dropped off.
  13. Dear @Mohammed Osama, just checking if you have taken yourself off the drive. Please let me know. Thanks
  14. Dear @Mohammed Osama, thanks for joining. Just a question: have you had a Masterclass with Carnity before? As this is a Newbie drive for members above 5 drives, the only exception is for drivers who have attended a Masterclass. Thanks for letting me know.
  15. Dear @Nicholas Hubbard, dear @Gunjan Jain, feel free to join. Thanks for asking. You can sign up yourselves, or I can add you to the drive.
