Post Drive Report Some drives, it all goes to plan and as a lead, because you know you can rely on your outstanding support (massive thanks @Chaitanya D and @imranaasghar81) and a convoy that responds so well to the challenges that you can keep going and going. To be honest, I was worried that things might not work out because the map for the start point had been misunderstood, we started late and had a lengthy stuck all within the first few throes of the drive. And then, as if by magic everyone was making it through every dip, dune, mound and pocket. Blessed as we were with almost virgin sand: a combination of the wind blowing and a decision to focus at the start in a less travelled area, everyone was able to gain confidence, practice and put into action everything learned in earlier drives (even if that was last week's Absolute Newbie. As mentioned as we arrived at Last Exit, I did not make the drive easy or simple. The response outstanding. Undoubtedly, for some the route was quite a challenge be it the higher climbs, longer descents or complexity of the dune formations. Yet, we got through everything. How does that happen? Perfect convoy discipline. Today was a great example of everyone following the line, the numbering and using the radio in the proper way. [My personal apologies if the jokes were not understood or timley]. Listening to and following instructions. When drivers follow that route, dealing with refusals and stucks takes much less time and when you are patient and wait for advice on how to get through a difficult moment we can get much further. Drivers eager to learn. This hobby really does require a lot of learning by doing. And everyone did a lot today. No fear of the unknown. Everyone took to heart the principle that if someone made it through, then I can do the same. Especially in the technical dunes (no preannouncement or comment about them so there was no need to think about whether we were or were not in that section. We did spend a lot of today's drive practicing a key skill that will serve you all well for the future. That is driving across the face of the dune. Being able to do this, as we did today at low speed is a great capability to develop. Congratulations to all. We made it back to Last Exit. That's a great achievement. You can all be immensely proud of yourselves. See you soon in the sand.

Post Drive Report Alex Raptor @Alex Raptor GauravSoni @Gaurav Soni (N/S) Mario Cornejo @Mario Cornejo varunmehndiratta @varunmehndiratta Hisham Masaad @Hisham Masaad Russ @Russ Ashok Chaturvedi @Ashok chaturvedi Thanks for the great drive this morning. Incident free, free flowing, well paced and losts of varied and different challenges. We navigated a small patch of Qudra dunes that are rarely visited - which is why there are no tracks - so got the chance for a lot of virgin sand driving [or at least I did at the front of the convoy!]. As it often is these days in Quda - soft, soft sand. As it traditionally is on my drives - technical dunes - where everyone did really well. There has been a msssive improvement in the capabilities of the Carnity drivers to handle small technical dunes since we started to lead drives that spent more than a few minutes in them and everyone did really well there today. Covering 44km with the amount of technical we did is no mean feat. Thanks for coming along and playing your part. See you soon in the sand.

Alex Raptor @Alex Raptor GauravSoni @Gaurav Soni Mario Cornejo @Mario Cornejo varunmehndiratta @varunmehndiratta Hisham Masaad @Hisham Masaad I am changing the start point for tomorrow to https://goo.gl/maps/k25SyvHDgbm4KbTp8 It's a short convoy so I will give out the convoy order as we leave. Apologies in advance: I had intended to use this drive to give my Pajero a shakedown, but it's not ready so I'll be driving the Jeep instead. The constraints on that are: I don't drive it that much so it might take a moment to refamilarise myself It's Marjan's car and I cannot take it back broken (again) I am sure we will have fun and have a great drive, what ever. See you soon in the sand.

If all goes well, we will make our way back into Last Exit. If your plans change, please let me know as early as possible, remove your RSVP and open up a space for someone on the wait list. More to come during the week. Looking forward to seeing you on Friday. Se you soon in the sand.

Post Drive Report What a pleasurable drive today. I am sorry to have to break it to you guys, but it's not every drive that has very limited stucks, long periods of radio silence and such amazing, pristine, vigrin sand. Helped by having a shorter convoy than usual, we covered some great ground, nice challenges and even saw a little wildlife I hope that you will all be back in the sand soon. @Mohamad Anwer @salah2u @Usman Basit @Mahesh Khatry @Bernard Kalaani Massive thanks to @Hisham Masaad - impeccable support.

Post Drive Report Was close to simply writing 'what he said'. Thanks everyone for the awesome drive today. For the few fewbies on the drive, because everyone did so well, we were at Fewbie Plus level for the majority of the drive. The ridge riding, criss-crossing and climbing was fantastic. Convoy discipline, particularly on the hills and where we did have problems was incredible - that last point where the route was lost as we were in complex Big Red dunes in particular: You told us that the track had been lost immediately you had any doubt. You did not go looking for it thinking that you could find us. The instruction on how to find the front of the convoy was followed to the 'T' Immediately we got back into the sight the convoy went back into order. I know when people are enjoying the drive: it's usually the point at which someone asks if the radios are working because nothing has been heard for a while. There was a lot of radio silence today. My apology to the WL drivers. In the end, there was a now show which would have left the door open for increasing the numbers in the convoy. The reason we ask for people to let us know early if there is a chance that you will not be there is to avoid situations where we could have added more people to the convoy. Thanks for the support as 2nd lead @Alain Canivet-Abikhalil CF @Watteau and Sweep @Hisham Masaad and each of you for making this such an enjoyable convoy @Larry Cadden @Javier Lucero @Tareck @Will Seivewright and @darren thompson sorry you had to leave early. Hope you sort it our quickly. See you soon in the sand.

The wait is over. Here is the convoy for tomorrow morning. My apologies to the W/L ... as you all have a drive in any case we could not extend for one and not all. We will use Carnity radio channel 6 (please make sure you program the radio tonight) Happy Muharram - let's make it a great one tomorrow.

Thanks in advance on their behalf.

@Ranjan Das @Anoop Nair @TT_Dubai @Sunil Mathew @Zixuan Huang - Charlie Just a quick update - all of you are on W/L and all of you are on 2nd drive. I'm afraid that to be fair to everyone it's an all or no-one decision as far as confirming the W/L. We have a 10 car convoy at the moment and for the terrain that's plenty, so I am afraid that unless we get another drop out during the day, we will not extend the convoy this time. I'll keep you updated on this through the day, and apologize in advance for the potential disappointment. At least all of you have another drive over the weekend.
