This drive is organized in full compliance with the COVID19 guidelines. We expect every member that joins this drive to go through below information and and strictly follow these guidelines in order not to jeopardize someone's health, and to ensure we can keep organizing these drives safely. MUST READ AND TOTALLY AGREE: COVID19 Precautions MUST READ AND TOTALLY AGREE: BAN POST Two Way Radio Guidelines Every Offroader brings his own radio, programmed to the frequencies described in below advice topic. We will not share spare radios or program your radio on the drive. If you need assistance in programming the radio, post a topic on the Carnity website with your questions and we will help you out. Make sure your radio is fully charged. It will be your only way of communication while driving. Before buying, please carefully read below advice so you are informed properly on which model / cost / shops... No radio = No drive. It is an essential tool and you should make sure you bring it on every drive and learn/practice how to use it. Drive Details Level: Fewbie and Above When: 25 Sep 2020, Friday Meeting time: 5:30 AM (SHARP - Without any exceptions) Action Plan: We will explore a BRAND NEW AREA, where 2 separate convoys will follow roughly the same path, each leaving at opposite ends, and exiting at the other convoy' starting point. The 2 convoys plan to meet halfway through the drive to exchange a symbolic "baton" (like in a relay track race). The "relay" format is a safe way to drive 2 convoys through the same area, to give more drivers the opportunity of visiting this very new desert location. We will practice controlled driving over technical dunes, side sloping, principles of ridge riding and crossing (low dunes), at a leisurely pace. Meeting Point: Margham Entry Point - https://goo.gl/maps/4yaM9QsJ52rxvQUT6 Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance. What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), face mask, rubber gloves, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Approximate finish time: 09:30 AM End Point: Lahbab THIS IS A COMPRESSOR ONLY DRIVE. WE WILL STARTING AND ENDING THE DRIVE AT THE SAME POINT, WHICH IS NOT CLOSE TO AN AIR LINE. I want specifically to answer @jodha singh shekhawat to repeat what @Kalahari wrote. You have zero reason to apologise. Popouts are part of the game, and seeing how your pop out brought out the best in our community, with everyone wanting to lend a hand, shows us again what Carnity is about. We enter and exit the desert as a team.

Don't Defy the Drive God's Sometimes things just don't go your way. When that happens, there is no point fighting it, just like there is no point fighting gravity in our drives. It started so well, with everyone raring to go, but a totally innocuous recovery that happened on almost flat ground, that turned into the impossible pop out was clearly a message from the drive gods to watch our step. We tried everything to get the pop out sorted, with the whole team coming up with solutions and suggestions. No matter what we tried, the end result was a change of wheel. Even so it was possible to see that @Ilya Golubinsky and @Jun Zamorashowed as usual that the Jeep is a great tool for all drives. @David Ortells grows well in the FJ and @Jolly Abraham was unstoppable when ever help was needed. @Tero Vallas you are starting to understand so much better how the mighty Prado moves Back on the move again, we made it to Pink Rock without incident, finally able to push the pace and complexity a little. To say Pink Rock was busy is like saying that the Burj Kalifah is quite tall. It was full of convoys and crazies and cross tracks, so with @Kalahari in the lead we moved on. The drive gods clearly had not determined we would reach Big Red. Too many refusals to deal with had eaten into our daylight and we were simply too far to propose driving in the dark all the way there. Everyone was doing really well @Ashok chaturvedi and @jodha singh shekhawat as new Fewbies realised this game gets more exciting as you get promoted. Talking of promotions @Lorenzo Candelpergher did a great job in C.F. and @Shiju Manuel showed why he earned his recent elevation. @Jeepie, as ever kept everythj my tidy at the back. Will this drive go down as one the best ever in the pantheon of Carnity drives. Probably not, but it's one that will be remembered for not quite making it to the moon, but getting important learning instead.

As a part of Carnity taking over every square in of Qudra this morning, I was supporting a fantastic drive led by @Jeepie this morning. Starting a little late due to the fog, we (eventually) entered the South Qudra dunes and enjoyed a route punctuated by wide swooping dunes all the way to the bike track that directs this route. The whole convoy drove amazingly well, keeping up with the level and speed that it soon became clear that the level could be elevated, and challenged we were. Where ever you look in Qudra, there are soft sand traps and our route took us through all the challenges that the area offers. @Veedooshee in second lead was probably the one suffering most from this. That's the disadvantage of being in a LWB vehicle following a SWB lead (and being followed by a trail of SWB cars @Nabil Bishara@Kailas and me). As we expect on a drive like this, we were awarded with some prefect crests, and some side slope Stucks, but nothing that took much time to sort out. A tug here or there @Mehmet Volga and @Kailas were very quickly sorted out which let us continue playing through the dunes for the whole drive. @marks did a great job at sweep as he had to navigate through some quite sticky sand at the end of the convoy, left for him by @Nivin, @Heisem @Mukundan Nair and @Mehmet Volga. Between you, it looks like there was great support for any refusals. Convoy and COVID discipline was also great today. Thank you for the continued support on this. It makes it easier to manage knowing that everyone is taking this seriously. See you soon in the sand.

Pajero. Bash/skid plates. Lift.
Wrangeld replied to Lisa Pemberton's topic in Mitsubishi Pajero Forum in UAE
Actually, I was planning something similar which would have 'wings' either side to protect what is left of the bumper as i cut it out this week. It should reduce road noise as well. You're not going to be hitting the bash plate that much while driving in truth ... but it's essential for when you do. Go with a design that gives the car the stance you want too. -
Good Morning Moonshooters, Here is the convoy numbering for Friday evening's Drive. We will be using Carnity Channel 2. Start time/meeting time is 4.30pm (not 5pm as stated in the topic). Please be sure to get there on time. @siddharth maheshwari I am afraid you have been signed out of this drive as you were not on the original wait list and @Shiju Manuel was signed in to the drive as he was on the waitlist before you. I think that you took advantage of Miguel having signed out of the drive. Hope you will understand that if we have a waitlist from Sunday, they take priority over someone that sees that there is a spot midweek.

Moonshooters Good Morning, @Jun Zamora, @Tero Vallas, @Jeandre Bezuidenhout, @David Ortells, @Lorenzo Candelpergher, @Jolly Abraham, @jodha singh shekhawat, @Ashok chaturvedi, @Miguel Ibarbia, @Ilya Golubinsky ( @Shiju Manuel, @Jeepie, @Kalahari The plan this week is to shoot for the moon. The idea - to start at Nawi farm and see the sun go down high up on the dunes of Big Red or the other dunes nearby and exit with a short night time drive. With such an experienced convoy, we should be able to push both the pace and complexity of the drive to practice side sloping and criss crossing on some of the most inviting dunes ranges in our region (or at least the region in which we are permitted in these covid times - where we cannot enter Adu Dhabi). It's is lunar month moon end, so we will hope to see the last slivers of the moon for this month form up high. More information to follow as well as a some nice additional 'features' planned for this drive. Have a great week. See you soon in the sand.
