  1. With more off roading you will become almost a mechanic or half mechanic I would say 🤣. You will learn to do your oil checks, air filter cleaning , checking your diffs for oil leaks, inspecting and understanding your car in more detail. Halve your service interval times if you are doing weekly off roading or more as Gaurav mentioned, will save you from a lot of surprises on sand. Generally FJC are great cars which give very less trouble if maintained properly. Good luck buddy
  2. Trip report Everyone arrived on time which was good start for a perfect day as it unfolded. We prepped and off to drive as quickly as possible after a debrief. Faqa has some tall long range dunes which are perfect to practice lot of ridge ride and crisscrossing which was the plan for today and you all did great. Some technical areas while we approach the play areas were managed very well by all of you. We gathered some pace on the sabkhas and went ahead to explore more in little Sweihan, which has some nice deep white sand bowls which needed a slightly different approach. Even here everyone performed very well which was great to see. Some refusals ,tugs and a half pop out all fixed in quick time. Some drivers were fighting gravity approaching tall dunes while criss crossing. I would like to mention again here it is not a right way to do it and definitely not safe. Please exit out at that point and attempt again which is always fine. @Anish S did a great 2nd lead and you all were intact following his tracks. Very glad to have you as my 2nd lead, thank you. @Shaaz Sha drove his SWB wrangler to near perfection. How you matched the pace of an IM drive was wonderful to see. @Abu Muhammad driving a monster Sequendra, did amazingly well. The roar of the V8, the attitude and the energy you bring to drives fantastic. @Nabil Bishara was wonderful with his SWB wrangler which is a perfect desert car for all that we did today.well done @Mehmet Volga great to see your ever smiling face, and how you managed the Pajero bought a smile on everyone in the convoy. I know you love the dunes here and hope you enjoyed it. @marks was driving his FJC with gusto, managing the long ridge rides very well. Great driving @Tero Vallas driving his Prado did well too. Driving at the back of the convoy is not easy but you did great. @Jeandre Bezuidenhout surfed the dunes in his blue wrangler Rubicon. Absolutely no issues which is a testament to how well you drive. @Jeepie presence at the back was reassuring that I pushed all of you to drive fast, do a lot of ridge rides , tall slopes and cross crossing. Thank you for your reassuring support Marjan. @Kailas you missed out on a fantastic outing, hope you are all good. Just to reiterate to all of you - Do not fight gravity while criss crossing , and feel your fish tail. - no shame in attempting again, as many times you want. - it is preferable to have bash plates on the front . Well done all of you, it was indeed a great day out in the desert where everyone enjoyed to the max. Happy holidays
  3. Trip report We drove to make a triangle ( Big red to 2nd Dec cafe to Tawi Nazwa). Great to have a short convoy on a cold morning . It helped us to explore more and with fewer refusals or any issues. @Gaurav Soni was excellent as 2nd lead. The way you handle the Pajero was quite impressive and climbing the big red was a piece of cake. Well done buddy @Probir Mukherjee was number 3 in his monster LC V8, very few refusals . How you improvised and learned to play with gears for the climbs was very nice. Hope you had a good time. Bravo @Rizwanm2 was my Sweep cum center forward for this short convoy.we did not need your assistance much but you did great whereever it was needed. Great to see how you have improved driving the X. Well done. @Lucky sAm you missed out on something which happens rarely, a convoy of 4 cars only.😜 Some images uploaded in gallery. Well done all of you. Enjoy your last week of 2020, and for those on holiday - happy holidays.
