  1. Not much left to mention after all these comprehensive posts above. It was another amazing day for me in AD - i love it because of sound and friendly drivers like you! Again there was no any weak ring in our drive chain; you all were incredible @Zed @Mus_hus78 @Archibald Jurdi @Werno @Anoop K. Nair @Ruan van den Heever @JeromeFJ. Perfectly responded to the high pace we kept with maximum attention but also did great job in the technical part close to the exit. Well done ! 💪💪 Agree with @Mus_hus78 that the terrain was not same with the one we originaly planned at the north Sweihan to Nahel. Unfortunately most of the big dunes were full of cross tracks left by many other convoys, making it a "public offroading zone" which we do not prefer to drive on. Those type of zones are not bad only because their uncomfortable tracks to slide on, but they are also dangerous with too many cars irregularly drifting and causing dense traffic like on the streets. I even saw some single cars driving around without following any convoy! The event @Ruan van den Heever mentioned is a good sample that it is always possible in crowded offroad areas to drop into some risky situations even if you keep maximum and continuous attention all the time. And as we experienced yesterday, many other convoys are not good to show enough attention we expect from them. Good timing and decision by @Ruan van den Heever to stop and going down as the other convoy didn't do anything (though they are assumed to point at least one of the 6 cars already crossed the dune ahead). And also thank you for sharing it here as such posts keep our safety instincts awake especially for experienced drivers who are tended to be overconfident. Safety first! Anyhow @marks made a great job and found us many virgin areas in between such public spots and made our trip better. Thank you very much buddy for your excellent lead! Looking forward to drive with your lead again. Thanks to our excellent supports; @JeromeFJ kept our tail in the line and @Archibald Jurdi was on board whenever needed (though there was not much to do with the great drivers. We can compensate this easy day in our next drive together 😉) It was leaders' day to have pop outs - I and Mark did it to create some opportunity for the convoy to workout. Mine was better with 2 at a time 🙃 Thank you again for your high performance, excellent support and friendships. See you all again on the next!
  2. @Zed @Anoop Nair @Mus_hus78 @Archibald Jurdi @Werno @Ruan van den Heever @JeromeFJ @Adhir Saxena @marks Hi everybody Here is the convoy order for tomorrow; we are using channel#1 on the radıo Mark will take partial lead as per his LL program See you all on the sand!
  3. @Anoop Nair @Mus_hus78 @Archibald Jurdi @Zed @Hasan Wahlan @Werno @Farouq Owdeh @Ruan van den Heever @JeromeFJ @marks Hi everybody! As I am just informed by other Carnity leaders that the area we plan to drive through tomorrow has been ruined by some construction activities. Therefore, we have to change our route and the meeting point accordingly. The links in the drive post and the calendar have been updated already. Here is the new meet point; https://goo.gl/maps/t6ZTVSxZntj18RtL6 Please confirm when you read this message by writing under this post or react somehow. it is a pity that we have lost a very beautiful area but thanks to Carnity team that we have been informed on time. Hope no more surprise on the route we newly planned.

  6. @Warren Flayit's my pleasure driving with such very sound drivers like you... and it was your Pajero showing up on the ridges of high dunes we circled 💪. My fat boy is too restrained to show off but I still love my comrade! He takes me anywhere in the desert and my sons to the school without grumbling @Mus_hus78 this feeling you have is a good resource whipping up your enthusiasm, so it will improve your driving skills. Keep it up and don't worry, we'll back soon with something similar 👍
  7. Another great day in Abu Dhabi! Thanks to @ShereenMK @Josh T. @Warren Flay for their excellent performance and @Brette @Shaaz Sha for their winged support! We found tall dunes to practice hill climbing skills, had chat about tricks to keep optimum pace, to find right track to attack and to make safe turns from the top as well as the nature of forces impacting all such movements. Other than these, we made our regular fewbie class surfing, ridge riding, criss-crossing and numerous side sloping on the long dunes of Nahel. Last part was a bit tricky, as we found a long fence right on our route which is not shown on the maps. We turned around it but this made us a bit delayed. Due to overtime, we had to skip the last cluster of tall dunes just before the exit, hankered after though. But sure we will mess with those for the next time anyway! 💪 Our AD brothers, @Josh T. and @ShereenMK were very calm with their heavy dudes underneath, they found it a piece of cake to pass through the sand waves while @Warren Flay was flying with his super ant just behind them. @Shaaz Sha , the man of the high dunes, shared us his hill climb shows by keeping his wheels right at the top. Appreciated for your contribution buddy! Special thanks to marshall @Brette for joining us today; he monitored the convoy from the back and kept us safe. In the meantime, your GC is still in shape 😎 See you next time friends!
  8. @Josh T. @ShereenMK @Warren Flay @Miguel Codes @Shaaz Sha @Brette Check out that convoy! Not any car is same with another. We have LC, GC, GMC, XT, Wrangler, Pajero... SWB, LWB and a truck in a single line! Also Marshal @Brette and @Shaaz Sha from advisor team as well as experienced fewbies are here! A unique opportunity to exchange experiences, tricks, hints and methods for long hill climbing in different type of vehicles. Let's use it! Here is the convoy order; We will use channel#2 on the radio. See you all in the morning!
  9. Sure @Mus_hus78 you will have opportunity to join one of these in the upcoming weeks. Not immediately next week maybe, but you will 👍 You are right that this topic is critical especially for Pajero drivers. To join two drives at the same time, you would also need two drivers. So no need to have two cars for now
  10. @Niki is right that the new thematic drive concept of Carnity offers amazing options attracting different passions of the drivers. But as @Gaurav said, there will be more of these every week so the drivers will have chance to catch each within the winter period in front. @Warren Flay SD drive concept may evoke to someone lecturing about boring technical issues rather than driving. However our plan indeed is to have a fun bucket of AD dunes sauced with technical tips to improve off roading skills. As mentioned in the drive post, there will be more playtime than usual. But for now; shhhhh ... enjoy the short convoy No worries my friend. We will drive together again soon. There will be plenty of more. Enjoy your Fwb+ adventure 💪

  12. Off-road Skill Development Drive – Long Hill Climbs Every car’s power-to-weight ratio differs, just like every driver's skill, precision and control. With the specific aim of improving this off-road skill, this drive will focus on maximizing climbing ability on long hills, by practicing the correct line of attack, and maintaining momentum (even through the bumps). So, it's time to extract every pony from your car at the right time and the right place to conquer big hills, with targeted guidance and a focus on safety. This drive will have more playtime than usual, focused tall dunes to let you learn the secrets of the successful long hill climb. What you'll learn How big a difference the correct line of attack can make. How to create and maintain momentum before you start your hill climb. Lowering tire pressure slightly to find the right hill climb balance. Experimenting with the right gearing for your vehicle to maximize climb capability. Gauging the correct and safest moment to abort when momentum fails. General Info This drive is organized in full compliance with the COVID19 guidelines. We expect every member that joins this drive to go through below information and and strictly follow these guidelines in order not to jeopardize someone's health, and to ensure we can keep organizing these drives safely. 13. It was an amazing day in a beautiful terrain, compassionate weather and with excellent drivers! My sole and last drive in Abu Dhabi was long ago and I am amazed finding such a hospitality by club friends and giant dunes of AD welcoming me together! Thank you very much to you all for this unforgettable experience! We completed approx 60 km in a very good pace. Even started a bit late due to dense fog in the beginning, we completed a track longer than the planned and were able to finish even before the end time! To do this, you need a "good convoy" rather than some "good individual drivers". And to have a "good convoy" as a whole, each single member needs to be "good" as we had yesterday. There was no any single weak ring in our chain; had no stuck, no rope, no tugs... I did not have to clean sands from my shoes after a very long time. Well done friends! @Naveen Raj even with the weakest engine in our convoy, his good-looking Pajero was always showing up on my mirror and took him up everywhere we climbed! Very good example proving that off-roading is all about "the driver" and not "horse power" which can be bought with money! Excellent performance and excellent second-leading with quick re-routing responded just on time. Very tough and stubborn determination by @John Vanderbleek, as he is fully familiar with all attitudes of his FJ , perfectly followed the track without hesitation. Thanks to him also for his care of me; after inflating, I ate something in the car and was having coffee and cigarette before heading up to my long way back to Dubai. He saw me alone from far, came back to check weather everything is fine. This is something about our club friendship, we are good fellas. Thank you John! @ShereenMK made a good decision by taking his LC. Our track was right up your LC's alley yesterday! Outstanding performance on straight climbs, long side-slopes, continuous climbing with lower speed and bowl circling. That is everything and you made it all - even some flying at that deep bowl Our big guy with his big monster, @Josh T. chewed the giant dunes like a grader! He injected us a lot of energy with his laughter and enthusiastic cheers. Well done bro, keep it up! @Santoso Marjuki knows exactly what means having a Rubicon! The trick is not speed but momentum, as you already showed yesterday in high climbs where acceleration is not possible. And thank you for your special "Rubicon show" in the bowl at the end @Karthikeyan Govindarajan ; it was amazing seeing how you have improved since our last drive many months ago (it was one of your early newbies I think). Now you are driving your rhino just like using your own body parts, caught a perfect combination of a driver and a car to off-road! It was nice to see you again my friend. Well done! @S Jacob showed us the capabilities of a Pajero SWB if whipped by the right hands! As a Pajero driver, I exactly know what it requires to perform such actions and what it tells about its driver performing those Congrats! @Hasan Wahlan it was very nice to see you in action again! Very sound driving and sweeping as always you do. Thanks also for your "closing show" by doing the biggest 8 around us in that bowl. Bravo my friend 💪 ... and my old friend @marks; thank you buddy for excellent support. It was really relaxing to hear your voice on my radio, made us feeling safe. Thank you for your drone shot in the bowl as well. I liked this Abu Dhabi drive! We definitely should organize more of these! Thank you all for your performance, support and friendship. See you soon again!👍
  14. @Naveen Raj @John Vanderbleek @ShereenMK @Josh T. @Santoso Marjuki @Karthikeyan Govindarajan @S Jacob @Hasan Wahlan @marks Good evening friends! thank you for your rsvp! here is the convoy order for tomorrow; we will use channel #2 on the radio there will be another convoy at our meeting point. That one is the newbie convoy of Richard @Wrangeld. Do not mix with them and deflate a bit ahead. see you tomorrow morning
  15. Congrats to our Marshal of extreme drives! Well done @Lorenzo Candelpergher
  16. Thank you very much to you all! It is wonderful stepping up with you friends!
