Hi @Patrick .. really appreciate the feedback and @Carnity is always open to learn and adapt best practices to always keep the drives and experience better every time of everyone in the @Carnity family .. rest assured that # 1 to 100 priorities for all of us are SAFETY & FUN and hitting the right BALANCE is our ultimate North Star . What you see today in the grading structure is a model that matured over several years with 100s of good (and bad) experiences and feedback gathered from all members throughout all drives and then was subjected to thorough analysis debate between marshals and crew to conclude on what fits best to get us to that North Star. For example, sometime back we adopted that Upgrade Drives for some levels, however the experience proved it brings more bad than good accordingly it was dropped. Every decision and specially promotion goes through a rigorous system to ensure skills, safety, comms, attitude, team work, … etc are assessed by different leads and support members (all of whom are volunteers by the way) and we do our best to ensure fairness and no bias. However, like everything in life, it’s impossible to achieve 100% and there is always room for improvement.. more importantly we all appreciate one size will never fit all so as we always say in the briefings we expect everyone to raise their tolerance, & patience and focus more on having fun while enjoying the company, adventure, and nature.

du vs Etisalat Network for Remote Offroading
Islam Soliman replied to Patrick's topic in General Discussions
I don’t recommend relying on network connection for maps and navigation specially if you are venturing on unfamiliar remote areas.. ensure you have offline maps downloaded and test it before stepping 🛞 on the sand For voice, all will fail at a point in time and you should rely on your off-roading skills and experience and teamwork.. the very reason we always advise against venturing solo or without the right experience, support team, and appropriate tools -
Specially in red color 😉

Dear @Jesper Weltström @lucas amat @george charbel@Ben Lee @James Lovell @Usman Basit @Juzer Gandhi @Misha Puskar it was pleasure driving with all of you this morning and you all did a great job crossing Lisaili to Qudra lakes demonstrating great driving skills, patience, and team work. Together we experienced different types of terrain ranging from baby tight dunes, bushy and bumpy grounds, med size long ranges, small bowls, finally closing with the lavish green lakes. From staring crossings, long range sidies, arches, and even basic crest crossing and you all did very well with great coordination communications We also experienced the magic of self recovery using controlled gas and steering, shoveling, and rope towing recovery techniques.. With all of the above you covered on the itinerary you covered over 54KM in around 3hrs.. a great indication of how well you all did, Bravo everyone 🙌🙌🙌 a huge shout out to the outstanding support of @Davie Chase and @Fabien Monleau and the excellent second lead by @James Lovell @Misha Puskar I wish you speedy recovery and hope to see you soon on the sand along with the rest of the team @babaski I hope everything is ok with you, we didn’t hear anything from you and you didn’t show up this morning. For future please rsvp out by Thursday if your plan changes or at least notify on the forum that you won’t be joining..
