  3. Yes of course, provided they are used to it. As it will be long bumpy ride unless the passenger also has been on the drive regularly, they could have upset tummy
  4. Additional fule won’t be necessary, but fill up before reaching the meeting point.
  5. It would be a slightly long drive. In the first part we will be driving what used to be some tall dunes in Faqa, we will find out how they are going to be. In the next part we will have a Baja-esq drive towards Qudra and will take a break before crossing a Sabkha. After we cross Sabkha we will find ourselves negotiating some technical terrain followed by some nice fast medium size dunes. Next we will cross another Sabkha to reach so called Little Sweihan. This area will be tall and technical and quite difficult area to navigate that will need our 100% undivided attention. in total expect to drive for approximately 80 km. We will be wading through the dunes in ch2 in the following convoy order: @Rk ram, @Ahmed Farouk, @Frans M, @Cesar Chacon, @Shahid Mehmood, @nithish468, @Sandeep Nayar, @azad, @khlief, @ChrisW, @Mahmut, @W a q a r, @Andrei S, @Mehmet Volga
  6. @Julian Patterson this is a fewbie plus drive so you would not be eligible to participate in the drive.
  7. DRIVE PLAN We will meet at a slightly distant place to start to drive, but we save ourselves the hardship of driving though all the bushes. From our favorite playground at Faqa'a we will go towards Little Swihan and end our Drive at Solar Park ~ 10:00 am or so. 11. DRIVE PLAN Last time around it was a blast there. We climbed and climbed dunes. Let's do it again this Sunday. While I named that drive Nahel to Sweihan, but we looped back to where we started. This time the drive title is Nahel Loop - so will we go to Sweihan ? let's find out... When we are finished with the drive in the Nahel Area, we will take track to head towards Sweihan and end the drive there. 13. @Ahmed Farouk & @Zak_ due to a medical condition with my pet that need to attend I would like to call off the drive this Sunday. I would encourage you to join some other drive this weekend instead. Apologies for the inconvenience. i would be removing you from that drive and cancel the drive Callander post.
  14. Congratulations @Benje_Junior on reaching Advisor level. Great stucks await you on Advisor only Drives in this level.
  15. @Gautam Banka, @Ahmed Farouk, @Shahid Mehmood, @Zak_, @Abhilash Kottakkal Unless camping this is 2:30 min drive from Dubai to reach + nearest fuel station is about 68km away at ADNOC Al Faya (891). Please let me know if we change the meeting time to 7:30 am or 8:00 am. If your car has 60l fuel tank I would suggest to extra carry fuel ~20l. Do let me know if you are camping. Do let me know if you want to have a slightly later time irrespective. I have added a poll ...
  16. Congratulations @davie c smooth operator on becoming the Carnity Marshal. Well deserved.
  17. DRIVE PLAN This would be the first time I would be driving in this area, hence the exploration drive. It is further away than most of our drives, almost near the area where DCT was held, so I would recommend that members arrive the previous evening and camp at the spot however reaching there in the morning is possible as well. If I would camp, I would be on a light camping setup and will update the camping spot on Saturday. 18. The first time I reached Ghafteen bowl with @M.Seidam, I knew I had to camp. It took some time but finally we did it. (PS: 2nd lead, CF and Sweep from that drive are leads now). we start a bit late because I was trying to score a power bank and there was a traffic jam on E66. I narrowly escaped being part of an accident when there was a pileup just behind me. I counted 2 patrols 1 lc300 and a defender before moving and narrowly escaped a patrol hitting me when the driver took to the curb side beside me. Later, I also had to take detour to get some ice for my cool box. @Jon L was on a full camping set up while I & @Abhilash Kottakkal were on a quick setup mode. (I am yet to begin with my full camping gear.) With extra time I set up and dismantled the projector screen and with some more time left I decorated my jeep with lights for the night. @Jon L’s TRX bbq set up was great and the servings from him and @Abhilash Kottakkal were mouth watering. We had some lovely discussions and the night ended when it did. The temps were chillier than I expected, as usual we were short on wood so scavenged some in the bowl that kept going. The next day started at about 6:30. I put my wake up alarm at 6:00 without any plans for getting up before 7:00 am. The sun had risen but did not reach the bowl. We packed and started at about 7:30. During our talk last evening Nagra hill came up so that’s what we did in the morning and finally ending the drive at 10:00 dot as planned. Thank you @Jon L and @Abhilash Kottakkal for joining the drive and coming. Till next time…
