  1. @Emmanuel I was trying to say that it was the correct amount of nervousness for me. In order for us newbies to get better, we need to be challenged. You perfectly accomplished that goal in my opinion, as parts of the drive took some (or all) of us out of comfort zone. If it is too easy, we will never get better. Wouldn’t change a thing.
  2. Sorry so late with feedback! Absolutely great time today! Many thank you’s to @Emmanuel and @Yousef Alimadadi for your time and advice on the drive. Have to say that at times it was very challenging for me and my LR3 today. Frankly, I was nervous on quite a few occasions. I know I am a better desert driver today because of the technical details we attempted. I have soooo much more to learn. Have a great week!
  3. Thank you @Chaitanya for the kind comments and disciplined and patient approach for our drive last Friday. Learned a lot!
  4. Hi @anish I look stuck...🙂 thanks for sharing!
  5. Hello @Chaitanya and the rest of the team leads! Thank you for a fantastic drive this morning. It felt good to get stuck a few times and get some assistance in recovery. All of you are class A in my book!
  6. Well going back and looking at @Gaurav post regarding Power-weight ratio per vehicle necessary for dune bashing, I see that my 08 LR3 Rover is a woeful 103hp/ton. Right at borderline. Nice to drive around town, but pretty heavy and underpowered(even with the v8) in the sand.
  7. Good afternoon. Please remove me from the wait list. I got in on another drive this Friday. Thank you. Roger K
  8. Hello Chaitanya, Are you accepting people to a waiting list for this drive? I would be interested in going if someone needs to drop out. I also am on the wait list for the Ghost Road newbie drive as well. Thank you. Roger Kohls
  9. Hello. If anyone drops out I would like to join the drive. Please consider me for the wait list for this Friday drive. Thank you.
  10. Have to say that was such a fun day! I appreciate the time and effort and patience of the team leaders. Awesome experience!
  11. Thank you Srikumar. I will turn off what the case DSC (stability control ) and be super careful
  12. Hello. I have a LR3 and am having no success with getting abs disabled. I can find no fuse or relay in the owners manual or on line forums. I can disable traction control with a button and air bags by pulling a fuse. Land Rover LR3 does have special off road functions, but not sure if this will be acceptable.
  13. Hello all, My vehicle is a 2008 Land Rover LR3 V8 Petrol. My first experience in the desert got me stuck, which prompted me to take a 1 hour class at Galadari. My only other desert driving experience was tagging along with Humayun on a newbie drive with a Frederic as the Marshall. In the USA I grew up in the woods and was accustomed to frequently driving in snow and ice...sand is different I learned. Both tow hooks are in excellent condition. See you all Friday!
