  1. Great drive indeed, and a very nice way to start the season, for a few of us (incl me) who had a long summer break. Nahel was a perfect place to restart, with a nice variety of terrains, medium size open dunes to start, bigger bowls and long climbs to push a bit those powerful engines, and a few technical portions in-between. In addition, beautiful desert views, that are always rewarding. Excellent drive from all of you, and the few obvious mistakes that happened were a good opportunity to illustrate situations that can become risky... and to practice recoveries. @Emanuel was fully experiencing his supporting new role, which he did with dedication and efficiency. @Luke K P, good to have you back, thank you for the 2nd lead, nicely executed. @Jon L you made a beautiful use of that mighty truck, following the smooth lines of @Luke K P, well done for your 2nd FB drive. Still both of you scared me a bit on that ridge, do not overestimate the capabilities of your vehicles. @Michael asir, congratulations for your first FB drive. You showed great control in the climbs and the bowls. reasonable in your expectations to climb, and taking action to steer down at the time needed. Well done. @Tharun Kumar V well driven, with your experience, you know also the capabilities of your car, and adjust your lines accordingly. @Rk ram ... what to say... even IM drivers have their moments... you have the experience, you have a powerful car, you need to keep the focus even if the drive may look "simple". Being stuck with a steep angle at the top of a high bowl, you gave the opportunity to practice a tricky recovery. @Deepak Eswar, all good, continue working on your controls, you had sometimes excessive speed or steering @Aser, excellent driving, accurate and always in control. The summer had no effect on you ! @Emanuel, thanks again for the support, very much needed today @Gaurav Soni, @Mehmet Volga, it was a pleasure to have you in the drive, thank you for joining. You can post your feedback here, and your pictures in the gallery. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and see you soon !

  7. Great drive indeed. Thank you @Emanuel for the relive. A small group of good drivers indeed is one of the best ways to build up a nice drive. We had a bit of everything, big dunes, high climbs, long ridges, switches, technical portions... and beautiful desert views. The sand was quite soft, with even softer patches in some places. I had a few refusals, and a bumper hit due to my lack of appreciation of these softer patches. Apart from that, great conditions, and even the heat was bearable. Well done everyone. Thank you @Emanuel for the 2nd lead and support, @Brette for the Center Forward, @Nizar Shawwa for the Sweep. Have a great weekend and see you soon !

  13. Great drive today, and we managed to reach Al Ajban ! The convoy was compact and motivated, and despite some bushes around, the conditions were excellent today. We started close to where we stopped the drive 2 weeks ago, so we had a nice continuity for the drivers who attended both drives. We had a nice mix of technical and long range dunes, spiced up with higher dunes in the middle, with deep bowls and narrow ridges. a few long ridges also, where it was important to keep the balance of the car. Very well managed every one adapting to the different conditions. @Sandeep Nayar well driven today, don't hesitate to give gas for the climbs, and work on the flow and anticipation. @RiadJL continuously improving with the 392, work on your lines for the long side slopes, as you are still fishtailing from time to time. @Batuhan Kulac easy drive for you today. @Nizar Shawwa, great driving also, thank you for the sweep. @Cesar Chacon, big thank you for an excellent 2nd lead, rerouting when needed and following guidance. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, and see you soon

  15. Dear Desert Drivers, @Cesar Chacon @Abhilash Kottakkal @Sandeep Nayar @Batuhan Kulac @RiadJL @Nizar Shawwa Thank you for signing up for the drive tomorrow. Please make sure your car is ready for the desert ride in the hot conditions. Remove unnecessary items from back seats and trunk areas. I will issue the convoy order by the end of the afternoon, please let me know before that if you changed your plans.
  16. Thank you @RiadJL for raising the point. @Batuhan Kulac Indeed there is a left turn, and as it is in a slight curve, there is a continuous line at that exact point. So technically it is not "legal". To avoid possible confusion, or situation at risk, I have adjusted the meeting point a bit ahead on E14. Still there is a left turn and still you have to be cautious, but it is legal.
  17. DRIVE DESCRIPTION The intent of the drive is to cross from Faqa to Al Ajban, in continuation of the drive on 15th June. We will follow the direction of the dune alignments, from East to West, passing from one line to the other to find nice tracks. Expect a bit of exploration, and allow for some rerouting as we might have to bypass a few fenced areas. 19. Dear Desert Drivers, thank you for joining the drive today. When I reached the meeting point at 5:35 the dust of @DP1011 Deepack's convoy had already settled. At 6:00 we started the briefing while the last participant just arrived (he knows). and 10 min later we were on the go. It was already hot and humid, and it was going to be only worse during the drive. After a warm-up in the tall dunes of Sweihan, we continued in the direction of Nagrah, from one ridge to the other. Surprisingly a lot of convoys were around but we managed to keep the pace and move together. The tall dune on the way was apparently on the road map of each of the convoys. After a quick stop on the top to enjoy the view we continued to reach Nagrah itself. A tall climb with a switch on the ridge and a combination of 2 bowls was the adrenaline shot of the day. Smoothly done by the Jeep squad, while the X-terra was unfortunately not in the mood to climb. Another climb with a with a high crossing, and we continued in the open dunes. crossed a sabkha and a strange rock formation on the sand, and reached the next dunes cordon, where the Ghafeteen bowl is hidden. It was actually quite well hidden, with the usual access/ exit points being barred with steep slip faces. The bowl itself was not in the best conditions, with hidden pockets and very soft slopes. Once exited, the remaining portion was slightly technical, and I could see with refusals and stucks that we were all getting tired, from the difficult conditions of the day, time to reach the exit ! Well done all of you @Alexanderrr, perfect 2nd lead enjoying his new ride, @Rk ram @Julien Recan @Cristian for their first IM drive, and @Mark B, excellent support (thanks for pulling me and ram) and sweep.

  22. I'm proposing this drive from my usual starting point in Sweihan. We can decide during the week if we want to go the Nagrah - Nahel route or in the direction of Old Lady - Al Ain Airport. Open to suggestions. You know it will be hot, so please join only if you know your car can handle the heat, thank you.
