Dear @Mbk, welcome to @Carnity. I see your name in the wait list, and I see you have just joined the club. You will see that we have a grading for the level of the drive, with a progression scale from one level to the other. This allows to have an homogeneous group for each drive, to ensure enjoyment and safety for each driver. Even if you have previous experience on your own or with another club, you shall first attend a Newbie drive, where the club rules can be explained, and your level assessed. Then if relevant, you can apply to recognize your previous experience. https://carnity.com/forums/topic/16479-off-road-club-grading-structure-v30/ https://carnity.com/forums/topic/15974-transfer-your-previous-off-road-experience/ My drive on Saturday is Intermediate Level, so you cannot join directly. I will have to remove your name from the waitlist. There are 2 Newbie drives on 29th Jan. They are full already, but if you wish so, you can add your name to the waitlist to these drives. https://carnity.com/calendar/event/1708-morning-newbie-desert-drive-faqa-dubai-29-jan-2023/ https://carnity.com/calendar/event/1710-afternoon-newbie-desert-drive-murquab-dubai-29-jan-2023/ Thank you for your understanding

Dear Desert Drivers, Looking at the weather forecast, it looks like Al Ain area is less exposed to rain than Dubai, and for now Saturday morning looks dry and even partially sunny. I will keep watching, but we can expect nice conditions for the drive ! The plan is to explore the Southern part of Sweihan, between Sweihan and Yahar. From the meeting point move East in direction to the Old Lady Dune, then turn South, cross the road, continue in direction of Al Ain Airport, then looping back and exit close to Yahar. Big dunes and nice bowls on the way ! As usual, alternatives are possible to adjust to the conditions, and how we progress. We have 5 drivers in wait list, including 3 for a 1st drive. Please check check your schedule and in case you cannot attend, remove your RSVP early enough to allow them to join. I will issue the final list by the end of the afternoon tomorrow

Thank you all for joining the drive today in Faqa. The start was a bit slow I must admit, was it the cold morning temperature? the clouds? the many bushes grown in the area? we had a few stucks, one popout, it was a bit difficult to find the rhythm. And this technical area was not easy. Then finally the sun came out of the clouds, and we reached more open areas, and we could fully enjoy. Practicing the ridge riding was fun, and all of you did very well, improving the control of your car from one ridge to the other. By 11:00, everyone was fully awake, and asking for more. we extended for one last ridge, and the last run, looping back to the starting point was smooth and continuous, everyone remaining concentrated, and enjoying the scenery. @Stan well done for your first Fewbie drive, you are ready for more, @Bashar Beasha well done also, continue to practice, and enjoy the capabilities of the Super Safari, @Yaseen87 very good control of the Pajero, @Paul Zietsmanmaneuvering the long truck in the technical portions is not easy, but in the 2nd half of the drive, you were handling it like a normal car ! X-terra team @Krishna R, @Abdul Basit Khan, nice to see you after a long time, @Zulfikhar Naiyar, well done, always in control , @Humayun Ghias good to see you back ! @Frans M thank you for the 2nd Lead, you were attentive to my moves, and always ready to hold the convoy or to adjust the route as per the instructions. @Rob S, always a pleasure and a comfort for me as a lead to have you in the drive. you have always a good eye on the other drivers, and never hesitate to take the shovel out ! And welcome to the FJ Team, you will not be disappointed ! @Rajiv Sam thank you for the good support also. @Chris Wingthanks for the sweep and for watching the back of the convoy. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and see you soon !

Dear Desert Drivers, Time for the last preparation for tomorrow. Make sure your car is ready for going off-road, especially for those who didn't drive in the desert since a long time. Fill the tank tonight or on the way tomorrow morning. Make sure that your recovery gear is in place, secured in the trunk. Check your flag and flag mount if required. Make sure your radio is charged, with the 10 Carnity frequencies already programmed. The meeting is at 6:45 am at https://goo.gl/maps/WbWFK5iwurzey1dF8 From Dubai, drive down the E66, and turn right before Al Faqa. Dear Desert Drivers, Next weekend is a bit special as we have the annual migration for the Liwa Crossing, that is mobilizing a lot of Leads and Support. This is the reason why we have less drives..... and a huge waiting list. Still I will try to accommodate as many drivers as I can, counting on the Support and experienced drivers who will also join. I will confirm the final convoy list in the early afternoon tomorrow (Friday). If we have a longer convoy, I might tune down a bit the level of the drive, and will ask you to strictly adhere to the convoy discipline to be sure that we keep moving, and to preserve maximum enjoyment. In the meantime, kindly consider your schedule, and remove your name from the attendance in case you have changed your plans. I would really like to avoid last minute drop outs that would prevent another driver to attend. Stay tuned for the next update tomorrow !
