Dear Desert Drivers, Thank you for joining the drive today. The first portion was not the best, as finding a way through the cross tracks and the bushes was difficult. Still the small bowls are a good terrain for practice before reaching the high slopes, and the long dune offers always opportunities for sidesloping. Once we crossed the pylon track close to Fossil Rock, no more bushes, and we could navigate between bowls and ridges, with the view of the mountains on the opposite side, until we gradually reached the mighty Faya dune, where we have practiced larger bowls and big slopes, up and down. Excellent level in the group, as we had only minor refusals, and one occasion requiring shoveling. @Mohamad Anwer, it was a great pleasure to have you as second lead, @Nathan L, your lines are precise, excellent control of your car, @Jad Moussalli it was a pleasure to see the Defender in its environment rather that on Downtown Boulevard, it has impressive capabilities @Mike., the white rhino was steady on the ridges and the long climbs, even if it doesn't like the steep ones, @Jaro Tuzinsky you have improved the control especially during the descends, nice drive, keep the focus at all time when you will join FB+ @Zixuan Huang - Charlie thank you for the support, always present when needed, @Patrick van der Loo that Jeep can climb anywhere , @Zulfikhar Naiyar excellent drive and communication, thank you for the sweep. It was a pleasure to have you all for the drive and the nice chats during the breaks, enjoy the rest of the weekend and see you next time !

Dear Desert Drivers, Thank you for signing up for the drive on Saturday morning. This itinerary is very scenic, and offers a nice progression from small to medium and finally high dunes. The drawback is that we might not be alone in the area, but we will find ways to avoid the crowd. I will issue the convoy order tomorrow by the end of the afternoon. Kindly let me know before that in case you changed your plans. Use this time to check the condition of your car if needed, and why not make sure you have your radio already programmed with the 10 Carnity frequencies ! Two Way Radio Guideline Stay tuned !

Dear Desert Drivers, Yes, it was definitely worth it. For an additional 20 min from Dubai, we have enjoyed a beautiful desert environment, and one of the most amazing drives. This short convoy was perfect to explore the area, and we have made the most of it! Starting with a small technical portion, we rapidly reached nice rolling dunes for a smooth warm-up in the pristine morning light. Moving West, we came to a technical area, protecting the access to the hidden Ghafeteen Bowl. We passed through the obstacle to enter inside the large bowl, and we could take turns testing the slopes. Coming out of the bowl, we had probably the most difficult portion of the drive, climbing to the top of the dunes through a series of small bowls. You were excellent, keeping a constant momentum and avoiding the soft pockets. From there, the unlimited view of the dunes from Nahel to Sweihan was giving the dimensions of the space. Driving down, and crossing the sabkha, we reached to the next cordon of dunes, where we continued our progression to the massive Nagrah Dune. Turning around, watching the steep slopes, we could find a way to reach close to the top. Again, taking advantage of the empty slopes, we could take turns and push our cars to the heights. Staying in control at all time, especially on the way down is critical as we have seen. Jaro experienced a small loss of control that resulted in a pop-out. It was fixed with an efficient team work, and it was time to think to exit. The way back to the entry point was just pure driving pleasure, navigating at faster pace through the dunes. We covered 69km, at an average moving speed of 25.3 km/h. Even if we had a few km of tracks, this is very respectable for a Fewbie drive, and shows the great capabilities of our group. @Jaro Tuzinsky, @Nathan L, @Mike., very well driven, excellent representation of the Pajero FB team (and yes Pajero can access higher level), and Jaro, thank you for the 2nd Lead, @Looper, thank you for the support, the only tug was for me, perfectly executed. @Joji varghese thank you for joining, it is always nice to have experienced members in the drive. @Brette thank you for the reassuring sweep, and for the company!

Dear Desert Drivers, Thank you for signing up for the drive next Saturday. I'm sure you will enjoy the Nahel environment. Starting from small to medium size dunes, we will progressively approach the high dunes of Sweihan. We might have some portions of technical areas, and occasionally use sabkhas to link between dunes cordons. I will indicate the convoy order and radio channel tomorrow by the end of the day. Until then, check your car and your gears. We have still a waitlist open, so let me know sufficiently in advance in case you modified your plans. Stay tuned for the next update tomorrow !

Thank you all for joining the drive yesterday. We had a great time exploring this area of Nahel. After the technical warm-up, the first portion of nice rolling dunes was just beautiful. Smooth slopes, gradually building up to a big dune. still some soft sand patches, bumps and pockets were spread around, as a reminder to keep the focus in any conditions. A pop-out of @Jessica Lambert was fixed in record time with an excellent team work. On the way down to the sabkha, @Beide Worku noticed weird noises from the front axle, and wisely asked to exit early. Using sabkha and tracks I took him back to the starting point, and we were ready for the second set, crossing to the E16 Sweihan Rd. Again we started with a nice set of rolling dunes, higher than the first ones, and in a deeper desert environment. We were lucky enough to watch a falcon enjoying his breakfast prey, and of course the more common camels. Again the dunes were building up on our way to the West, until we reached the majestic slopes of Nagrah dune. Circling around the massive dunes, we found some play areas, to get a good feel of height and big slopes, despite the cross tracks and the other turbulent convoys. Time passing we made our way to the exit, through a challenging set of climbs in the soft sand where you all impressively followed your lines, until we reached the exit track. Well done everyone in this terrain apparently not so difficult, but requiring a continuous attention, and for controlling you momentum in the bigger climbs. Big thank you to @Zixuan Huang - Charlie and @Charbel for the support and the few tugs, @Chris Wing, always very reliable 2nd lead, @Imran Kashif, always helping also when a car is stuck. @Salim Akhtar, very well driven, @Jessica Lambert, you are getting used to your new car, in a few drives, you will make the most of it. @Gerrit Bus, always nice to have you, I hope your passengers will remember the good part of it. @Beide Worku, sad you had to exit early, but I see you participated on a drive the day after, so I guess the damage to your car was resolved. Enjoy the rest of the week end and stay tuned, I will program a second edition to continue to enjoy the area !
