  1. Hi @Ale Vallecchi thank you for the afternoon drive around qudra secret garden/dunes. Always a a fun time on your drives. Thanks for the basics of reading dunes and tips for other FJ drivers. Good to see other FJ drivers & other guys getting out and learning how to drive their very capable rigs. And nice to see others building their confidence after some time away. Keep at it and you’ll get the most out of it. have a great weekend @Ale Vallecchi @J-P L @Eddie-Raptor @Jerzi @Lazy Frog @Sameer D.
  2. Thanks @Ishak for the fun drive & lead this morning and well done on your first fewbie plus drive. Nice pace, nice switches and climbs! Had a little bit of everything. Thank you @J-P L and @Frans M for your the support and the great David trying to move Goliath moment. We all knew the Jimny could haul that FJ out from the ridge 😉 @Nicolò @vinayak n @Mei Ling @Lala G @Sherry Jacob @Faraz94 @Abhishek Chikara great to see you all this morning, good driving with lots of discipline & control. And when required excellent team work on the stucks, refusals etc. enjoy the rest of the weekend!! See you again soon.
  3. Hi @M.Seidam sorry but I have to pull out from the drive. My car has been in the garage since Tuesday and I thought I was getting back today … but as usual there’s a delay 🤦🏼‍♂️ … so no drives for me this weekend. all the best and have a great night.
  4. Really sorry @Ale Vallecchi I’ve got to drop out at the last minute due to some issues. Have a great drive.
  5. Morning @Ishak finally walked through my door after a a mammoth shift at work. Everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong hence I’m just getting home now. I’m really sorry but I’ll have to pull out of this drive as I’m absolutely exhausted. All the best.
  6. Hey @Luke K P really sorry. Have to drop out of tomorrow’s drive, last minute work issue unfortunately meaning I’m having to work through until the early hours of tomorrow 🤦🏼‍♂️ … have a great drive and I’ll catch you on the next one
  7. Thanks everyone. Looking forward to the higher level drives 💪🏻 😜
  8. Apologies @M.Seidam I’ve managed to oversleep and I won’t make it in time to the starting position. 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ … I’d be very late so I’ll have to drop out. Apologies again.
  9. Apologies @Emanuel taken myself off the drive. Duty calls 🤦🏼‍♂️, Cheers.
  10. Hi @Emanuel hope you don’t mind if I join the drive do you?. I saw the drive was still open so thought I’d take a chance.
  11. Hi @M.Seidam my apologies, works running over and I won’t make the start time. I’ll have to pull out. All the best.
  12. Hi @Ale Vallecchi sorry have to remove myself from the drive. Sorry for the last minute drop out but I’m feeling unwell 🤧 don’t want to risk driving and not paying my full attention to the drive. Thanks.

  14. Hi @Ale Vallecchi I’m going to be 10-15 mins late. Got away from work late unfortunately. I appreciate if this is too much of a delay for you and you need to get away in a timely manner. Let me know. thanks

  16. Hi Seidam. I’m really sorry I’m being held up at work. I won’t be able to make it. sorry for the last minute drop out. All the best guys have fun.
  17. Thanks @Davie Smooth_Operator for putting on the twilight drive and superb lead. Thanks @Mark B for your super sweep and support during my god awful turn into a ditch … I may have shouted a few expletives at myself 😂 … and thanks @ChrisW for adding me to your long line of “winch” customers. First time is FOC I hope 😜 … thanks for the support guys. to everyone else sorry I delayed the drive a little with my excellent driving skills, I blame it on the FJ’s key feature … poor visibility … and my new window tint … just kidding, it was my own fault I should have known better but we all make mistakes. still one happy customer despite ripping off my rear mud guard, denting my beautiful plastic bumper … and the car is shaking like a sh***ng dog … maybe an engine mount issue … I’m sure I’ll be back next weekend to do it all over again. All the best guys have a great week!!!
  18. Hey @Frederic sorry it’s late but I’m gonna have to pull out of this one. Just finished a drive with Davie and drove home. On the way home I noticed something out of the ordinary so I don’t want to risk it. Need to get it checked over before venturing out in the sand again. Hope you understand. Cheers and hope you all have a great drive.
  19. Morning I’ll be a few minutes late due to a small delay at the petrol station 🤦🏼‍♂️
  20. Thanks for adding me to the drive @JeromeFJ. I didn’t get to drive last week due to illness so I’m looking forward to it!!
  21. Good Morning @Looper I’m really sorry, need to pull out of this drive. Woke up with really bad headache and nausea. Quite unexpected. Apologies. Have a great drive.
  22. @Ale Vallecchi thank you for putting on this afternoon drive. It was a great afternoon. @Emanuel thank you for the support and @Mike M. for bringing up the rear. I think learning how to get the best out of your car is going to be very helpful moving forward, check if your car has any issues preventing you from getting the most out of it. Driving in “D” may not be suitable for your car, you may need to use “manual” or “triptronic” gears or a combination of both throughout the drive especially in more testing areas. Ensure you have all traction aids turned off, especially if you turn off your car and start it again (for the newer cars). Ensure correct tyre pressures are met and if needs be lower them for more soft sand, just don’t turn too sharply. Carrying momentum and not trying to power through from a standing start is going to help, keeping fluidity in the drive is a must. For cars with turbos you may have to get on the accelerator earlier for your engine to spool up the turbo, yes engines have got better over the years but there is still a time lag between you putting your foot down and your car getting in the correct powerband. Larger engine displacements with turbos probably manage this better than smaller engines with turbos but it’s all the same. try, try and try again. Never be put off if you fail to do something that others can do. Never panic and listen to instructions. Never get frustrated and try too hard to push through something as that could lead to overshooting, fighting gravity etc. putting yourself and your car at risk. just some friendly advice 🙂 all the best guys, see you soon on the next one.
  23. Thanks @Gaurav for the great lead @Emanuel for the support and @Marek for bringing up the rear. Oh and @J-P L for your eagle eyes. The drive was certainly different from the past couple of drives I’ve had in this area recently and it was nice to take a completely different route to the Iftar bowl & Super bowl. In all honesty the drive wasn’t as smooth as I had hoped but that’s the name of the game, you have to take the rough with the smooth. In all though it was a great morning and it was great to have a play around on the larger dunes flexing the FJ’s muscles 💪. Every drive brings something new, and new skills/techniques to take away. Learning how to handle your respective cars takes time. But once you’ve learned how to handle your car you will get the most of out of your drives. And probably come away with a larger smile on your face. to all, great drive, great patience and I hope to see you all in the sand very soon. All the best for the week ahead.
  24. Myself, @Emanuel & @J-P L drove in this area today with Ale. Your suspension is going to get a great work out. There’s a lot of deep cross tracks in this area. But it’ll be fun all the same. Looking forward to it 👍🏻
