  1. I’ve been waiting four weeks for @Gilbert Khalilto have a smile this big plastered on his face (in Dubai) and for him to say he “truly” loved the drive 😂🤔 Today, the radio crackled to life and I heard it, and I couldn’t agree more. Much like him, I can say with the utmost confidence, the rest of us too went home with smiles that big only to perhaps crash into our respective sacks. Firstly, @Islam Soliman, WELCOME BACK! What a grand re-appearance. And I know we’re going to be seeing a ton of new drives on the roster soon (especially your heavyweight LWB editions ;)) @Warren Flay, I almost always expect you to be SL on any drive I have with you, and it’s such a pleasure to have you in that seat. You set an excellent pace for the convoy. @Davie Chase, watching you in the rear view mirror today in your sweep role taking some of the lines you did, showed such wisdom and forced me to ask myself - “why didn’t I do that?” @imranaasghar81, thanks for flying the checkered flag. It’s a beautiful thing to chase down the middle. I am still seeing flashes of your air time 🚀 @Naim Aoun- what a splendid first FB+! @Daniel Rodas- I’ve never heard a Pajero sound this good. Mitsubishi needs to take notes. @Daniel Yang- my forever Y61 wingman. Thank you all in the front for giving us lovely churned up slopes to fishtail in @Fabien Monleau- following your beautiful car on a stunning track is the icing on the cake @Adhir Saxena- composed as always! See you all out on the sands again soon 🐵
  2. I think @Islam Soliman is going to be chucking us into long stretches of soft sand technical dunes 😈😎
  3. @Sharat Nambiar, as mentioned by @Thomas Varghese above - here is the post detailing the drive release notifications and how to get into the WhatsApp Group. Link: https://carnity.com/forums/topic/15190-carnity-drive-notification
  4. Just the bend in those flags at standstill tells you how gusty it would have been out there 💨
  5. Everybody fears a roll-over. Some members here have experienced one, and seen one too. But they are not as common as you are led to believe. In my 36 off-road drives with Carnity so far, I haven't seen one or even been exposed to a situation which may have potentially become one. I've felt challenged but I've never felt afraid. This is not to say, that it can't happen. The marshals and the center-forwards (depending on where you are in the convoy), will always take the most reasonable line. You are also permitted to not attempt anything that you're not comfortable with. We don't shame anyone around here - because this isn't a race and we're not staging the next production of Mad Max Secondly, in most cases, a roll-over or any slope-side accident is caused when drivers continue to fight against the most powerful of natural forces - gravity. If you learn to read how your car behaves, its weight, its dynamics, how much or how little throttle you need, what the sand is telling you, and ultimately how all of it combined is reacting to the gravitational force, you will master the art of driving your car at the limit - but safely. I regularly drive on track at the Autodrome in addition to the off-road drives. And I have insurance covers to protect me and my passengers first. The vehicle is secondary. As expensive as it may be, it's replaceable. But if a comprehensive cover gives you the peace of mind, do go for it. But think of it just as the name suggests - "cover". Don't let the fear of a roll-over prevent you from taking calculated challenges to push how much better you can be. And don't let the learning of all those drives send your confidence into overdrive that you fight gravity, and risk it all. See you on the sands soon
  6. Congratulations @Patrick van der Loo! You’re going to learn the most on this level. Enjoy it
  7. You’ll rarely run out of juice on a drive if your radio was charged even half way through. In most cases, if it’s a great drive, the convoy just gets really silent and you have to force people to respond 😂😂 You can always get a cigarette socket lighter for your radio.
