  4. Thank you @Gaurav for this amazing opportunity! I've been looking forward to climbing the ranks within @Carnity one step at a time every drive has taught me new invaluable information, which I'm looking forward to teaching and demonstrating to new or pre-existing off-roaders. Since the beginning I've looked up to you, @Frederic, @davie c smooth operator, @Brette, @DP1011, @Islam Soliman , @M.Seidam, @Looper, @Srikumar and many of the other members of Team Carnity who have all individually supported me and instructed me from the beginning to where I am now. I can confidently say I'm looking forward to taking teachings from all of you again in a completely new aspect. @davie c smooth operator Thank you, mate! I'm looking forward to learning more from you as we begin to lead together, your way of tackling situations and keeping a cool mindset has always inspired me to take any situation with the same standard. @Frederic Thank you so much! We have been driving together since I joined this club in 2022 it's been great under your lead understanding that dunes aren't the only thing to experience in the UAE but many scenic routes and locations with amazing landscape. looking forward to driving with you soon! @DP1011 We have supported drives together, and I've supported your drives. I'm happy I could follow in your footsteps and looking forward to having you in my convoy you'll always be welcome to tag along mate! thanks again @Looper Thanks lad! I'm looking forward to figuring out all of my stuck situations, soon we will be taking loops together!😆 Many thanks @Jose Luis Campos!

  6. Congrats @rroker well deserved mate, enjoy the new challenge!
  7. Once again I don’t even know where to start. DCT 2024 brought a different challenge that to 2023 every waypoint felt like it had a different story for our organizers which alone made the event legendary. Massive Thank you to @Gaurav, @Frederic, @Srikumar, @Sohini, @Ale Vallecchi, @J-P L, @Simon D, @Rob S for making this event possible, to think you guys managed to plan waypoints, strategize, cater food, support challengers, set up receivers… and well the list goes on, really makes me think you guys are the real desert champions here. Event management of this scale is no easy feat and yet you guys managed it all with such expertise, even down to theme music for each team lead which all in all was great craic (means a good or great time) so seriously amazing work I think I speak for my whole team that we are ready for next year to defend the title 💪💪 To the other fantastic team leads @Looper@Albertorres@Asif Hussain@JeromeFJ@Zed@GauravSoni I’ve driven with most of all of you during my years in @Carnity fantastic work lads, you kept everyone on their feet and truly gave us a competition to remember. In our initial start of the race we ran into almost all of you hitting waypoints which was amazing to see each team coordinate in different innovative ways. We are all desert champions taking our daily drivers so far from home to tackle such challenging terrain. I’m looking forward to competing with everyone here again into 2025. Well Team Desert Flyers. So much to say yet I have no idea how to put it down on paper. @Davie Chase (Smooth Operator) fantastic Team Leader all together to helping outside of the club with any car issues, setting up tshirts, and flyers for our cars; but most importantly giving everyone in the team a voice. Our banter never seems to end which is impressive on its own. Maybe in a way it helps fuel the compassion to offroad with precision and skill, the terrain you had to lead us through blindly was truly remarkable I’m really looking forward to learning how to manage and lead drives with you when I take the massive step forward to marshal. Fantastic work mate @Mark B Gladis is a true jeep adaptation of a Mad Max rig and the factor you could make it wave across the dunes with little to no struggle while also being the first one out of the car whenever there was a refusal is crazy mate well done, always a pleasure to drive with you and carry banter in the perfect moments I look forward to supporting more drives together. @ChrisW (techy guy) well Mark is right your a legend mate, joined the team as a Fewbie yet held all the attributes of an intermediate absolutely crazy, not only are you a team player but a amazing driver, definitely consider joining Team Carnity sometime. You went above and beyond in making sure team planning went smoothly. And I can’t forget the brilliant jokes during the race which truly calmed the atmosphere of the race. Keep it up lad 💪 @Gary F well we truly brought the banter home I can’t even talk because I got crested too 😂 (it must run in the family) amazing driving especially considering the circumstances of being stuck in conferences all over the globe, soon we will be a father son duo planning, leading and supporting drives 💪 fantastic event again cheers to everyone that made it happen 🍻 Let’s bring it home again team! regards, Ben (junior)
  8. Welcome @Stuart G hope to see you out on the sand soon mate
  9. Absolutely agree with you @Davie Chase amazing driving from everyone today, no refusals that needed the hand of a trusty shovel nor ropes and winches, which is always a great thing to see. We started the day with amazing 20-degree weather and worked our way through the desert until we hit a blistering 35 degrees which I ensure you my brother and I felt without the roof lol. @Hani crest king great use of communication when handling the refusals in the back, was good to hear some contribution as I was watching over. Hope you got to a fuel station to feed the tamed monster known as a GMC Tierra Great driving @Glenn W and @Giacomo 2nd lead skills were top-notch as Davie previously mentioned! @Talal H @Jeevan Koshy amazing driving no complaints from my side keep it up! @Davie Chase Fantastic lead from the Smooth Operator!! always will enjoy your drives. only a matter of time until we can share lead lol overall mate keep it up! Supporting your drives is always great fun with whatever pace or situation there is we find some fun to cram in. Hope to see everyone very soon. GO TEAM DESERT FLYERS

  15. @Emanuel Big congratulations mate! Welcome to the team, looking forward to working alongside you in the desert, hope to catch up again soon
  16. Thank you @Simon D I enjoyed the fast-paced nature of the drive hitting off all the key dunes in Tawi Nizwa. I think drives like these are always important not only for the support team but for all attendees, it allows us to practice and sharpen skills that are often left untouched, nevertheless this drive had everything from paced dunes to problem solving recoveries, I hope for everyone involved learned something new about different terrain landscapes and how we can repair pop-outs alongside torn tires. @Imteeaz Great seeing you again mate, thanks for the amazing support. @Mahesh_ @Andrew John Melvill @RiadJL it was great catching up with everyone I hope to see you on the next one. Enjoy the rest of your week.
  17. No problem! and yes, I do feather the throttle depending on what I'm doing. sometimes feathering my torquey RPM in 1st gear helps me climb at a slower pace (that's better for small climbs or sand walls) typically on high climbs I would feather 2nd gear around 3000-5000 RPM before considering changing to first. The computer does automatically cut engine power which is why there is a sudden pause in the throttle after changing gears, the extreme heat does affect the CPU's processing speed. Lift and Coast has helped a bunch within gear changing in my experience though. however, do experiment and find the technique that works best for you
