  1. Well that was an exciting adventure! We started off heading into the night, eastwards straight into some absolutely huge dunes. No warm ups allowed! The convoy was climbing, criss crossing, surfing through the big dunes. The excitement and adrenaline was leading to the back end of vehicles getting a little loose with fish tailing so we all relaxed in the bottom of yet another daunting large bowl for a pep talk from @M.Seidam about how we should tackle this amazing terrain. The stand out thing for me was the lack of vegetation, and the doc's ability to pick amazing lines and switch crossings in the pitch black. The convoy had great faith committing to double switch's and huge climbs. Towards the end of the drive we moved into east nahel where we hit some technical dunes.... And ventured into a BLACK area on my GPS called Freddie's follies, as I had seen many a stuck in that area and try to avoid during the day. Again our convoy tackled everything with ease. Truely an excellent way to kick start the weekend. Great driving everyone and looking forward to seeing you in the sand again soon.

  3. For those interested, insta360 X5 has now been released. https://www.techradar.com/cameras/360-cameras/insta360s-new-x5-improves-on-the-x4-where-it-matters-most-and-it-blows-other-360-degree-cameras-out-of-the-water
  4. @Mike M. we also use the term 'bush bashing' in australia... when trying to navigate through terrain with no defined paths, ie just waypoints to hit whilst hiking/skiing or during orienteering.... Sorry that image was the best chatgpt could conjure up
  5. Congrats @Sandeep N , looking forward to going on a drive at this level with you!
  6. Great fun today guys. We started around 08:15 after our briefing and discussion about the fence with no gaps. @Ale Vallecchi had scouted the length of the fence and decided for go for an explore. First 30 minutes had us warming up doing some smaller ridges, and looping around a caravan of camels, and the herder in his very ugly Suzuki Vitara. 😂 On our way to head westward we had @Myrko's defender get stuck on some plants at what seemed like a very steep sideways angle. The very low centre of gravity kept it planted, and some rope work defused the situation so that we could continue west towards a waypoint named 'valley of grass' And we certainly found grass,.. lots of it, and some very very bumpy climbs due to the plants roots. Next up we had some nice clean ridges to practise on as we entered the Al marmoon nature reserve. We did a couple of.sabkha crossings and spotted many more camels... Ale guided us close to an oryx farm, and we took a few moments to drive around and get some snaps of the up close and personal.. 📸📸 We then entered the triangle of little sweihan... Where we found even more grass. I nominate a name change to 'North sweihan forest' 😅 we had 1 or 2 refusals and a popout, but didn't hold us up for too long! Here we said goodbye to amr and Yury while they headed North to solar park, we continued around the military installation towards the Ghantoot royal guard base... Connecting up some more long dunes with some ridge riding in between. Thanks to everyone driving very strong, we covered a lot of ground and lots of different terrain... Great way to spend a Sunday morning! See you all again soon
