    Carnity Off-Road Club Drive Description Starting from Tilal Sweihan, we’ll point the convoy west and head into the play ground just south of the ADNOC Expect a few warm up laps in the dunes here, before we aim for a speed crossing to exit in the west. This is a point to point drive, not just a dune bashing play around, we will be making sure we are covering some good distance. 🏁 Drive Details Level 🏁 Fewbie Plus and above Meeting Time 06:30 AM Meeting Point 📍 OPEN IN GOOGLE MAPS Coordinates: 24.436483, 55.194501 Type of Car Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8–10 inches of ground clearance.     Nice write up @Infaz. One other note @Imran Asghar how have you determined that you need a kill switch for ABS? A lot of the trucks these days have specific modes for offroading (specifically sand/mud) that will 'almost' disable all traction controls.. except in instances where a lot of one wheel slipping is detected. In those cases the ABS can often apply brakes to one wheel to allow the other to get traction. (Think fake front diff lock) Assuming you dont have a dedicated factory front locker? Worth investigating what drives modes you have, and what changes they effect on the overall system before trying to trick the computer into disabling ABS etc through shorts. FWIW, many people install kill switch with various levels of success in the ford ranger, whereas i have left it be. I find that engaging certain offroad modes,.. plus long press on traction off.. gives me more than enough offroad performance without having to go down paths of messing with the wiring to put car into disabled modes..

    It should have been a power-packed start to today’s drive, but the weather had other ideas. Instead, we found ourselves crawling through some technical terrain in very soft sand, blinded by thick fog. A wet layer sitting on top of powdery sand made everything slippery and unpredictable, with a few refusals and short breaks needed along the way. Eventually the sun burnt through the fog and the terrain opened up into a really nice rollercoaster section, criss-crossing ridges and taking some loose lines. 😎 We then pushed through a fence section with the difficulty turned up a notch, before finding some nice big sidie climbs and a bit of ridge riding. After that, we stopped for some tyre maintenance and somehow managed to hear @Frederic and @Vanessa8580 on the radio from around 140 km away. Very mysterious. I’m officially claiming that as a CARNITY record for the longest handheld radio transmission. 😂 We finished with one last spin, finally getting up onto a ridge I’d already had a few attempts at earlier in the drive. We took the win and headed out at 10:00. Great driving from everyone in some genuinely challenging conditions. We’ll be moving at a strong, flowing pace, hunting down as many ridge lines, big and small, as we can find. We will be practising getting up high.. getting onto ridge lines.. riding them and having as much fun as possible. More ridges. More flow.     Carnity Off-Road Club Drive Description Need a quick mid-week night drive? Happy to drive out to Al Fayah? Interested in having a nice sit down tea/coffee before inflating and heading home? If you answered yes to these questions, have I got the drive for you! We will be doing a short blast (2.5 hours max) around Al Fayah on Wednesday night. Once we all arrive we will have a look at the map, and chart out our route through the dunes, the hit the sand for some fun flowing night riding! We will stop the convoy towards the end of the drive, and make some coffee and tea whilst looking at the sky and chatting (30 minute break).     We got underway right on time and headed straight for Old Lady Dune. No warm-ups allowed. Straight into switches, climbs and some fun lines to wake everyone up properly. Old Lady was pretty tracked out, which made the south-side climb to the top harder than usual. Rather than keep fighting it, we looped around to the north-west and found a cleaner way up onto the main ridge. From there, we were rewarded with some stunning views and spent a good chunk of the morning riding the ridgeline all the way down. Somewhere along the way, we also picked up a random Nissan who apparently decided to join the convoy and became our unofficial second sweep. 😂 Next up were the big Al Saad power bowls, where we spotted a few foxes and had our first bit of excitement with a pop-out. Plenty of hands made quick work of it, and we were soon moving again. Then it was over to the Three Trees sidie wall, where we spent some time experimenting with different faces, lines and approaches before moving on to our final stop — Nagrah. We climbed it from both sides, enjoyed the views, played around with some sidies, then climbed it again because… why not? From there, we jumped onto the trail and made a fast exit. Excellent driving from everyone throughout. Fast. Fun. Big dunes. Big lines.     We got an early start, and I immediately set the tone for the evening by getting stuck. Twice. 😅 We spent a fair bit of time looping around the opening section, getting a feel for the terrain and figuring out just how dark things were going to get before pushing on. Apparently we were also a very attractive sight, because the quadwheelers absolutely refused to leave us alone and followed us around for a good chunk of the drive. As the night went on and everyone settled in, we started finding some bigger lines and managed to squeeze in a few properly big sidies toward the end. Then it was time for coffee. Except I forgot the coffee. Thankfully @Alexanderrr came prepared with some Karak, and I managed to salvage the situation with a couple of cans of Nescafé. 😂 A slightly chaotic start, some persistent quadwheelers, big sidies, and improvised coffee.     The weekend is almost here, and I'm getting excited for a Saturday night time session! We're in a deep waning crescent moon right now,.. with moonrise expected around 04:30.. which means it will be dark. DARK DARK. Please remember to bring a torch, and also a camp chair for coffee.
