We rolled out just after sunrise— @Luke K P @ChrisW @Beide Worku @Alexanderrr @Jessica Lambert—heading straight toward a horizon stacked with massive, inviting dunes. The kind of morning where the sand feels alive and the air carries that quiet promise of a good session. The warm-up didn’t last long. Jess’s car suddenly refused to put out any power, a frustrating issue that forced her to bow out early. Never a fun moment, but were able to find a relatively flat way out, then waved goodbye, and the rest of us regrouped and pushed on. Once we were back in formation, the dunes opened up beautifully. We started attacking a series of bowls, each one bigger and more playful than the last. Chris had a flashing CEL at one point—one of those “just jeep things” moments—but it seemed to sort itself out enough for him to continue. Throughout the morning we kept crossing paths with an FJ Cruiser group. taking turns on the big bowls, sharing lines, and watching each other carve up the faces. The highlight of the drive was the flow. We found a stretch where multiple bowls linked together, letting us switch in and out of lines and stitch long, smooth sequences into a single continuous action. It felt like surfing the desert—effortless, fast, and deeply satisfying. Eventually, we caught a burning smell from under Beide’s car and spotted splatter of grease where it shouldn’t be. That was our cue. No point pushing a (maybe?) mechanical issue after such a solid run. We made the call to exit while spirits were still high and the cars (mostly) intact. All in all, an excellent drive—clean lines, good teamwork, and a morning full of those moments that remind you why you wake up early for this. Hopefully the footage does it justice. See you all again soon!

We had a great FB+ drive for first night of Ramadan. Minimal cross tracks, big dunes, quiet area. Really nice high ridge riding from @Suneedh Wrangler and @Nabeel Abdul Rahman on your FB+ debut! Even with the couple of refusals we had, most importantly was that all of them were safe refusals, with easy quick recoveries. Thanks @ChrisW for talking through the recoveries to make sure they were done gently. We covered 50km of terrain, looking forward to seeing you guys on the next one!

Maintenance Routine of your 4x4s
_luke_ replied to Suneedh Wrangler's topic in Off-Road Club's Discussions
Nice topic. I under car pressure wash maybe once a month or two. Remove sand from cabin with a handheld air blower. Replace oil every 5k at agency. New OEM paper air filter after 10k. Wheel Alignment one a month. Retighten beadlocks bolts at random when I remember. Listen while driving on road and head back to agency to check out weird clunks etc. I have found no off-road garage or car shop in Abu Dhabi that can do even basic service or repair work on the Pajero or the Ranger, so go back to agency. Absolute horrific mechanic work in this side of UAE 😫😫😫😫 -

@Sebastian Nohse anecdotal stories of people using the ICON pro is that it can cause damage to the inside of the tyre, when running low pressures and getting impacts from the pins. my opinion: after trying; normal wheels, method beadgrips and beadlocks.. either keep the stock wheels. or go for beadlocks. If your are considering beadlocks, drop me a message on instagram and i will you my personal recommendations as the ranger has limited options available if you dont want any rubbing issues due to unusual offset requirements etc. I initially wrote this post, but now i'm firmly in the beadlock camp.
