  1. Thanks for the update! That makes complete sense, will try to sign up for the other newbie drive then!
  2. @DP1011I think you were taking some photos/videos when we were going up to pink rock, will you be sharing them with us ? 😃
  3. Hi @Chaitanya D, Two questions: 1. I took one absolute newbie drive on last sunday, am I good to join this one? 2. As this will happen during night time, do we need any extra lights or the stock ones are good to go?
  4. Hey man, I don't know if this is against carnity rules, but I just bought a new one yesterday. I can share mine so you don't have to worry about it! See ya all tomorrow on the dunes!
  5. Hi Ale! Thanks for making sure all of us were notified even if you had to call us! I wish your FJ a speedy recovery so that we can spend some time in the desert with you ✌️
  6. Hahaha, now that you brought it up I can share my wishlist for gifts I want 😎
  7. Hi Carnity! Looking forward to my first ever offroad drive! Mitsubishi Pajero, 3.8 GLS TOP, 2013, Grey No offroad experience It is completely stock so comes with the stock tow hooks on back and front No safety flag or radio, do we need to buy? MUST WATCH: watching PS: Do we have to buy the compressor for the first drive?
  8. Hi @DP1011 thanks for the prompt response! I'll check out the payment plan! Didn't catch what you meant by this statement? Whats WL? I also noticed the newbie drive on the 23rd mentions "All skills seminar", what does it mean?
  9. So, I'm done with all the major mechanicaL work and the 100K service! Can someone help me out, I see two posts for upcoming newbie drives on 23/24 Sep but I can't access the posts. I guess I have to pay the monthly subscription to get access? Or do I have to pay for the drive separately to get access? Other than that, is there a guide for things to prepare before joining the drive on my stock paj? Thanks!
  10. Yeah! Need to get the 100k service done because we dont have any service history which is a bummer! Once its up to the mark, I'll bring her there asap!
  11. Hello Carnity!!!! THE DREAM HAS COME TRUE TODAY! I just drove the pajero back home! Finally bagged a 2013 Pajero 3.8 GLS top @124000kms for 29,500/ with a full pre-purchase inspection with just 1-2 doubtful issues on the transmission & sensors. Thanks to the amazing help and I need to know how to get to the desert now!!!!!! 🚀
  12. I'll definitely consider and see if this can work out. Its just the maintenance cost for the on road SUV + mod cost for the off roader that will through the equation apart. Let's see. Also while we are at it, aren't earlier generations of the ford bronco available here in the UAE? 2nd gen ford bronco 🔥!
  13. I have had my eyes on the XJ for a while(my instagram is full of XJ and Toyota 4 runner videos), if not now I'll obviously do this at a later point in life when I have the luxury to. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening right now. What on road SUV I can get in the given range that is reliable?
  14. @Krishna R Thanks for the detailed response! I love the way you have summarized my thoughts in a single comment. The X and the pathfinders both are great off-roaders but I am still inclining towards the Pajero for all the reasons you mentioned! 👏 Its no easy feat lol, I'm being patient! Wanted to get one before the end of Ramadan but let's see!!! Are there any realistic options for that price? Any ideas? I was even contemplating getting a normal sedan and adding the off-roader later next year instead of getting into something halfway but I really don't want to wait that long
  15. After looking at some ads, these are more expensive in price 35-40K+ and I don't think it will be wise to put in that much knowing the value of the car is going down after off-roading. Maybe I'll wait for another pajero, or make a lower offer as suggested by GauravSoni. All depends on the compression test now 🥲
  16. @GauravSoniI've been actively looking for more than a month, the market is full of agents overpricing these cars and there's like maybe 3-4 proper 3.8s that I got interested in viewing. Then there are 2014+ models that are priced at 40+ which doesn't make sense for my budget and purpose. The moment I put offroad mods the car's price will plummet I looked at a few fj cruisers at the garage, I haven't looked into it at all. I know its a better off-roader compared to a pajero from what I heard and its a toyota so.... should I look into these? Meanwhile I am contemplating getting the engine compression test + will ask for 24-25ish if the compression test goes through. Feeling lost at this point
  17. Yeah, there is nothing installed. And the mechanic mentioned its cracked. the mechanic also mentioned that the car has never been offroad or anything when we saw under the car. 🤔
  18. Update + Next queries for the pros: So I went for a comprehensive test, we found a few issues: Rear diff mounting bushes broken/cracks EGR packing rubber/leak Engine mount broken Engine Wall cover packing (leak, I think) Transmission shift to D didn't go through and both N-D lit up in the dash oil leak (engine) According to the mechanic, most of these are normal issues except the oil leak. He suggested me to get a compression test before closing the deal because it could be a deal breaker or the price should be reduced. What do you guys suggest my next step should be? Is this a deal breaker, should I look for other cars? @Gaurav @GauravSoni @Frederic Edit1: We floored it multiple times on the 1st gear and the shifting didn't happen before 6K RPM Fun fact: the mechanic also recommended getting the xterra, pathfinder or the FJ LOOL feelsbadman
