  1. Hey @Frederic, seems like I’m not able to sign up for the drive for some reason, I am a part of the off road club.
  2. Do not buy fake rims! Trust me it’s not worth the hassle and additional damages it can cause alongside the risks to your safety.
  3. Hey @Gaurav, any chance that we could extend the convoy for the waitlisted members? Would love to take part on this drive
  4. Thanks a lot @Gaurav @Srikumar It was a fun first drive with Carnity 😄
  5. Hello Gaurav. I have a Toyota Tundra TRD PRO, Green, 2020 I have driven quite a few times in the desert and have been a passenger for all of the drives that my father @Harshal has taken part in with Carnity (29 drives in total upto fewbie plus) I have front and rear tow points and flag + radio. see you on saturday.
  6. Same happened to me, I wasn’t able to register for new drives or send any messages on any thread. I eventually saw that for some reason I wasn’t a member of the offroad club, after rejoining everything’s back to normal.
  7. I learnt about how hot the compressor got in certain areas the hard way aswell 😂 I sprayed some WD-40 in the valve connector and it works very well, it was quite hard to use before but now it’s smooth as butter.
  8. Id say 35” are plenty, yea they do look a little small especially on my truck, but they do the job quite well. In the end its upto you. I stopped myself from going with 37” because I never really needed them and it will end up with less stress on the components. (I wouldve probably regeared the truck if I went with 37” so an added expense) The tires I have recommended are quite aggressive so you will have increased road noise and less comfort. You might want a less agressive tire if you drive daily. Beadgrip and beadlocks are different, I went with beadgrip, but with beadlock you can run generally lower psi and have less worry about popouts.
  9. Usually the most common type you’ll see on modified trucks are 315, 35” and 37” however they are usually paired with 17” rims or 18” which is more rare than 17, this is because you can fit a larger sidewall tire with smaller rims. As for tire types and brands, I have a purely offroad focused car, so I have experience with Cooper AT3 XLT, and BFG KO2. These have worked great for me with a slight reduction in drive comfort which isnt a concern of mine anyway. I can vouch for these two, however other members of the club will be able to give more options based on their knowledge. If you want to look rims, I would suggest Method as they have beadgrip technology, I usually run 11 psi, (and have went down to 5 when stuck) and never had a popout even on intense drives, but again, there are many different brands to choose from. (You should also look into the details such as what kind of offset you want to have.) But if you do decide to go for big tires make sure they wont rub against your fenders/fender liners, remember bigger tires add more weight, and will put a bit more stress on your truck. There are many factors which will determine the ideal tire and rim types/size for you such as whether you daily drive your truck and what your specific needs are. I have just suggested a few things based on my own experience. Tires and rims are quite a vast topic and you have alot of options to choose from .
  10. I got a ViAir compressor (ViAir 440p) about 4 years ago, I have used it regularly ever since and IMO the quality is one of the best I’ve ever seen when it comes to compressors, works every time, and fills up my 315’s quite quickly. Would recommend.
  11. No questions were asked, atleast for me, for any of the mods except as I mentioned, the supercharger, everything else passed without any issues or concerns. I’m not sure about any pre approval but I don’t think anyone has gotten pre approval for lift kits and bigger tires and exhaust. Regarding your paint job, if you plan change the colour of the vehicle then you need to request for vehicle colour change, you can do that on the Dubai police app.
  12. Honestly a lot of times it will also depend on the cops and their mood, I have heard that Sharjah is quite strict, I’ve been on many trips to Sharjah and all the other Emirates in the truck, luckily nothing yet. But whenever I pass cops it always makes me slightly nervous 😂
  13. Not really, as long as you pass the car through RTA every year you will be fine, my truck is quite loud especially when you step on it, (it’s almost straight piped). However if you decide to floor it or be obnoxiously loud next to cops then they might give you a fine. As to the other mods, it really depends on what you do, and where you pass the car, my truck has a ton of mods which people say can result in RTA failing my car or getting fines, but I have never had a fine for any mods, and my car has always passed except for the supercharger which needed special approval, but apart from that I didn’t have any issues and I don’t think you will have any either. Let me know if you have any other questions 👍
