  10. After a lot of research and patience, I bought my first Mercedes ever about two years back - Mercedes Benz GL 500, recently crossed 200k kms last month. I have driven my friend ML500 for a week before buying this and I was completely convinced that I needed such amazing, spacious, and powerful daily driver. Thinking for 5.5 engine it consumes way less than any V6 in the market as Mercedes have done some crazy fuel science and I get around 12-14 L/100 gas mileage with a combine in 30% city + 70% highway. With 382 hp there is no shortage of power and as per internet, it can sprint 0-100 in 7.5 seconds for such huge 4x4. This car has some amazing blend of luxury and ruggedness which make me so happy to own it and I hope I can keep her forever if she continues to behave well in long run. I really love her three-row spacious seating that can accommodate 7 pax without any fuss and noise at the far end. The interior's quite a bit more overtly luxurious, with wood trim and glints of metallic trim; its controls are laid out well, and there are fewer of the tiny, inscrutably labeled switches. GL 500 shifts power through a seven-speed automatic to all four wheels, with an electronic all-wheel-drive system that limits wheelspin through anti-lock braking, a system pioneered on the M-Class, which sometimes I hate too much %^%&^&*. For safety, it has standard curtain airbags, stability control, all-wheel drive, a rearview camera, Bluetooth, Adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitors etc. For entertainment it has standard power front seats; a power-fold feature for the third-row seat; a glass sunroof over the rear two rows of seats; a COMAND controller for climate, audio and navigation systems; Bluetooth; and an AM/FM/six-DVD changer, navigation system, 610-watt Harman Kardon Logic 7 audio system with surround sound; and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system with twin 8-inch screens and wireless headsets. Things that needed repair or replacement from time to time Air suspension Oil cooler seal leaking ball joints, boots, bushes, moountings etc. Minor electrical issue with music system - no volume sometime Coolant leak due to some burst Battery, tires, wipers etc - regular consumable
  11. car info: 2006 w211 E350 japan spec with 77k km radiator tank had a leak and have splashed small amount of water into the engine bay.. tank got emptied in a week and got check coolant level error message... changed the tank! in a week i got the error message again but this time it was half there cuz only the cap was bad (because it was used)... replaced it with the org problem: I noticed a small tick tick noise when the car was running 2 days ago i didn't really cared. Today all of a sudden it is really audible and no need to mention, its irritating and annoying along with the sbc humming... the sound cant be heard when making right turns, decelerating or braking to take exits from the highway, and on highways with speed above 90kmph. the speed of the tick-tick sound increases with the car's speed. heres the video at idle and running at city traffic. what is the cause and possible fix!? it sounds expensive to me...

  15. Mercedes pulled the cover off the 2017 SL Roadster the night before the car officially debuted at the LA Auto Show. No word to describe the beauty of this sporty two seater debuts in spring of 2016. Being a Mercedes car enthusiast, I would like to share some of my personal review about this car new look for the front end that includes a revised grille that what Mercedes call it “Unique diamond radiator” I LOVE IT. Output of the V6 in the SL450 is up to 34 hp to 362 from 5500 to 6000 rpm which sound interesting. This helped bring 0-60 down three tenths to 4.9 seconds now. Not bad for V6 kitten.
  16. The Mercedes-Benz F 015 a new autonomous car's, research and its immersive user experience is an innovative perspective into the future of mobility, but the F 015 is just a concept car. It may never see a production line, and its engineers caution that some of its capabilities are many years away from the reality. However this still takes self-driving cars beyond Google’s LiDAR-studded experiments, and reconsiders how the most cutting-edge auto tech could change people's lives. Honestly, some of us just don’t want to give up driving or give up our control to make last minute decision and plan alternate route on fly.
  17. Can't wait to see one in real life, anyone ordering here Mercedes AMG C63 coupe or knows when this beast is hitting the UAE market...... Damn AMG designer to make this so sinful, powerful and I am sure ridiculously expensive. AMG C63 coupe: 4 liter V8 = 469 hp.AMG C 63 S coupe: 4 liter V8 = 503 hp, 0-100 kmph: 3.9 secs.Any heads up or review on this beast is highly appreciated. Thanks.
  18. Hi all, Quick question on the service of the Merc S class (2009) model at 90K interval. Anyone know of any trustworthy, reliable and of course affordable workshop in AbuDhabi that do German cars? Thank you
  19. Hey all, So I'm taking a trip to Muscat, Oman this weekend from Abu Dhabi and was wondering which car to drive. It should be around 700 to 900km the whole trip inclusive of driving around in Muscat. I guess two main points I thought about was comfort and fuel economy. What else? Should I take the Pajero 3.8 LWB (2008) or the Mercedes S class (2009)? 1) Fuel economy is way better in the Mercedes, so this is a winner for the Merc. 2) Comfort: well the Merc is perhaps more comfortable to drive? or is it more comfy to drive on a raised seating of a 4x4? And yes, what route is the shortest? I figure since im driving from Abu dhabi, it is shorter via via Al Ain, Hilly border? or is Dubai better ? Which route is more scenic? Any advice is welcome. Thanks
  20. After intense search I finally give up as I am unable to find that which all engine options are going to be offered on 2016 - 2017 models. It is expected it to feature Mercedes’ comfort-enhancing Air-scarf neck warmers and Air-cap wind baffle, but no engine sizes grrrrr Appreciate if anyone knows that as I need to make up my mind to wait or go ahead with current model based on engine size offering.
