ANNOUNCEMENT SAFETY RECALL FOR CERTAIN 2008 - 2011 FERRARI 458 ITALIA, 458 SPIDER, CALIFORNIA AND FF VEHICLES IN THE UAE In coordination with the Ministry of Economy - Consumer Protection Department and in line with the commitment of the Ministry of Economy to conduct an ongoing review of all products in the UAE to provide the consumer with the required protection, Al Tayer Motors, the local importer - dealer of Ferrari vehicles, and Premier Motors the official dealer of Ferrari vehicles in Abu Dhabi, announce a safety recall campaign for certain 2008 - 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia, 458 Spider, California, and FF vehicles, manufactured in Italy, for replacing the passenger side airbag module. Ferrari S.p.A. has decided to implement this campaign, due to a non-conformity in the manufacturing process of the passenger side airbag module. The module may have been manufactured using propellant which may deteriorate over time, which may cause the airbag to fail to deploy correctly as required by applicable safety standards. In the event of a collision necessitating deployment of the airbag, this nonconformity may result in the failure of the inflation device and incorrect deployment of the passenger side airbag, increasing the risk of injury. A total of 223 vehicles are estimated to be affected in the UAE. Al Tayer Motors and Premier Motors will contact the affected customers to inform them about this recall and to replace the passenger side airbag module. The service will be free of charge to customers and every effort will be made to minimise any inconvenience caused during the short time required for the work to be carried out. Ferrari S.p_A. has launched this campaign due to a non-conformity in the manufacturing process of the passenger side airbag module, which is manufactured and supplied to Ferrari by Takata. Takata declared that the module may have been manufactured using propellant which may deteriorate over time. This may cause the airbag to fail to deploy correctly as required by applicable safety standards. In the event of a collision necessitating deployment of the airbag, this non-conformity may result in the failure of the inflation device and incorrect deployment of the passenger side airbag, increasing the risk of injury. A total of 228 vehicles are estimated to be affected in the UAE. ANNOUNCEMENT Safety Recall Campaign for certain 2016 Model Year Ferrari vehicles in the UAE In coordination with the Competition Consumer Protection Department in the Ministry of Economy and in line with its commitment to conduct an on-going review of all products in the UAE and provide the consumer with the required protection, Al Tayer Motors, the local importer- dealer of Ferrari vehicles in the UAE, and Premier Motors, the official dealer for Ferrari vehicles in Abu Dhabi, announce a safety recall campaign for certain 2016 model year 488 GTB and 488 Spider vehicles, manufac tured in Italy, to update the Instrument Panel Node software (NQS). Ferrari S.p.A. has launched this campaign to update a software bug in the algorithm employed to calculate the wear percentage of the carbon-ceramic brake discs that may cause it to work incorrectly. The software update must be carried out to ensure the estimated wear level of the brake discs is correct and corresponding co the actual wear thereof. A discrepancy between estimated and actual wear may lead to the critical wear threshold of the brake discs being reached without the driver being informed, a consequent possible damage to the discs themselves, and an increased risk of accident. Currently, Ferrari is unaware of any accidents or complaints arising from chis defect. A total of 25 vehicles are estimated to be affected in the UAE. Al Tayer Motors and Premier Motors will contact the affected customers to infonn them about this recall. The software update will be done free of charge and every effort will be made to minimise any inconvenience caused during the short time required for the work to be carried out.
