kasim
Before installing the new fuel tank, empty the gas from the old tank first. Look for the drain cock on the fuel tank. Open it and the gas will come out properly. Where is it located, if you ask, it is at the lowest point of the tank. Keep the gas can aside in which you pour the gas. You will need that to put it in the new fuel tank. Now remove the fuel lines connecting to the fuel tank. One will be fuel supply line going towards the engine and second will be fuel tube at the gas fill point. Detach them. Now remove all the nuts connected to the fuel tank which will be connecting rear beams to the tank. You can remove that putting a jack stand. Also remove the metal straps connecting the fuel tank by loosening their nuts first. The fuel tank will automatically drop down. But carry the fuel tank properly so that it doesn’t damage any other auto parts. Now to install the new fuel tank, check for the specification of the fuel tan k for your car in the car manual. Buy the specified fuel tank only. You have to install the new tank the same way to you removed the old tank. You can fill the new tank with the gas you poured out from the old tank. But before pouring it in, make sure the gas is fine and can be used in the new tank. If you see the gas changing color to brown or black, it means you need to change it. If the gas is still transparent, then it’s good to use! But if this is your first DIY, it’s better if you do this under the guidance of an expert, Otherwise you may mess up the whole thing
