auxiliary power in ford edge

I have this problem that when the car is switched off, the garmin GPS which is connected to the auxiliary power does not swithc off, even my mobile if connected via travel chargers in the car seems to be charging. Doesn't that drain the battery power, i mean i expect it to stop powering when i switch off the car.

Was car like this from beginning as few cars are like this (no joke)? If it happened recently then its worth diagnosing the issue with good educated electrician in Ford. This might charge a bit as Ford electrical problems are very tricky to solve and known educated Ford electrician will know this fact.
