khandelwal
This problem is easy as pie. Im going to make it easy before anybody think its complicated. My hood release cable broke, and guess what?...the service station price a heaven to change it. The part comes as a whole known as Dorman Hood Release as an assembly and is called Cable Part #912-006 and about 10 min to replace. All that you need is a new cable assembly, 2 buddies (not necessary, but will help you with to complete the installation, Torx T30 handle, A screwdriver, Deepwell socket set, Wire-Cutters and above all patience. Follow the broken cable under the hood and rest as you proceed you will get the other end to latch it on one side of the hood. As I said it needs bit of patience, so if you want to save some extra bucks, try this out.

khandelwal
John, do you mind sharing any specific reason you think why it broke in first place???? Is it just bad quality or something unusual happened to hood or hood release lever?
