exhaust heat shield came off

yesterday when driving i heard something dropped from the bottom of the car and was getting dragged. when i inspected i noticed that the exhaust heat shield came off. my concern is if i should replace is or do i weld it back on.

is driving without it till the garage a safe bet or do i call a recovery

Remove it completely and keep it in car and then get it welded again, its fine. You dont need to change it unless its damage. Its just a metal heat shield.
