my car is raving up w/o no reason

i had recently replaced my 1999 cayman's engine,

just after that the idling has not been consistent

when I come to a stop the needle at times seems to fluctuate the rpm sometimes goes up to the 2 or will go pass 1which causes the car to cut off and will start right back up

I understand this problem. Maybe your throttle body along with some sensors needs to be checked. Why not bring it to my workshop?
