Hi @Frederic and @Marek I always had a secret passion about photography but I have never engaged in any kind of lessons. But lately my interest is growing and I believe is related to desert driving. Man, sometimes I spot something and just want to stop and take a shot. However I am a completely amateur guy that spends a lot of time in the "Youtube University".

I think we may have quorum among Carnity members to organize a "drive with a purpose", as @Mike M. sugested once, related to sharing knowledge about photography.

A sunrise or a sunset all level drive, where we can get out our most techie selves, and associate Dune bashing with some discussion about lenses, cameras, gear, composition, light, etc

Just an idea if you find it interesting and doable.

Absolutely and an idea we already executed with @Gauravin the past and a couple of astrophotography sessions as well. As soon as the weather permits we will definitely plan for something ;)

Ps. I have 9.25" telescope, but I prefer to bring it on my ford expedition :) so I'm with 2 hands up for it, just little bit simple road for stargazing!!!

Fantastic shots @Marek which lens are you using ?

Thank @Frederic, I broke couple of expensive lenses and reverted back to stock 55-140mm just because of conditions you work with - sand will kill any piece of high tech, so not worth using anything fancy, especially since daytime lightning conditions in the desert are phenomenal, so you can get away with shooting at aperture f/6.7 with time 1/2000s, while driving... using one hand... and it will still be sharp. Grain reduction using AI-powered lightroom...

my main issue is getting sharp shots  when fully zoomed in. (Sigma 70-300mm with OS). Budget lens on full frame 5d mk2.

The 5D mk2 always struggles a bit with fast autofocus.
