Good day everyone,
Thank you to @Andrew John Melvill & @Emanuel for leading the drive today, for @J-P L & @Mahesh_ for your support, and everyone that joined me for my first Fewbie drive. It was good to test my new vehicle's capabilities and got some good advice all round. Now I have a better idea what modifications needs to be made to keep with the pace.
Apologies for my refusal on one of the ridges and @Lazy Frog who followed me into a perculiar position. Reflection is the key to experience building and you can see from the attached clips both my Dash view and Rear view. Unfortunately I was only able to upload a GIF file type on here so the quality is not that great.
There are two learning points from my refusal: Firsly, I did not apply sufficient power getting onto the dune; and Secondly, most importantly, I was positioned to far to the right of the leading tracks which led my centre of gravity over the slipface.
Getting to know my vehicle, I was not confident to power back onto the dune and decided early on to make an escape. The escape procedure could also be improved by maintaining my momentum so not to get stuck in the powder soft sand at the bottom. However, I was able to perform a self-recovery with the awesome encouragement from @J-P L.
Thank you to @Lazy Frog for maintaining composure in the face of having a refusal himself.
Hope to see you all again on the sand!
