@JC_E @Enrico - Mountain @Piotr. @Ahmed Farouk @Zsolt @Danie @Hani crest king Evening guys - looking forward to seeing you all in the morning and having an adventure... @_luke_ tried explaining his original plan to me, but I think he was deep in to Suntory time... ...so I've drawn some crayon lines on a map and let's see if it works...I can't promise much other than some shared adventure...and if it all goes wrong we'll call Luke to come get us 😉 Let's aim to meet at 06.30 and be on the move by 06.45 or so...Channel 10 (446.231-25)...convoy order per below...6 points -
Wasn’t sure which section of the forum to post this on but here we are. I have spent the last 6 months working on this. It started with a collection of notes written in many notebooks over many years and I decided to combine it into one document. Knowledge is meant to be shared. And before anyone asks, yes I used AI for editing but all is from my own brain and experience. I also have 20+ years of notes on restoring classic cars and planning to do the same with it soon. Feel free to download, to use, to share. If anyone learned something new, say hi! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wulT8I2P2FRKoixpPqMWU936CaBvq04q/view?usp=drivesdk5 points

Hi All, Thank you very much @Looperagain, for such a wonderful drive, it was really very different experience in wet sand. I learned a lot driving with you for the second time. Thank you very much @Zulfikhar Naiyar for your support and our chat during the breaks made me more confident and to understand every move I made. In-fact It was feeling like I have been evaluated while you were on my tail. . Thanks to @Andrei S for all the support and being patience thought the drive. Congratulations to @Rachid for your promotion you deserve it. Looking forward to drive with you all whenever possible.4 points -

Thank you @Frederic It was such a useful training session and had great fun throughout.. Really enjoyed supporting @Ishak and @Giacomo (both newbies). It also shows their skills in deliberately getting stuck and making it look like they actually need support!! Appreciate everyone who joined and made the training so much fun. The little Sweihan drive was fantastic. Absolutely loved it!! Now waiting for an IM drive from you Fred. 😎4 points -

@ChrisW thanks for leading today’s trip! It was great to drive the route in the opposite direction (west). @JC_E, @Zsolt and @Hani crest king thanks for your excellent support. It was a pleasure driving and chatting with you all. See you soon in the sand! Piotr4 points -

And a big thank you to you as well @ChrisW, for jumping in at short notice while Luke is slacking off 😀 to make sure we could still enjoy a great Sunday morning in the dunes. Always great fun going out with you.4 points -

Thank you for taking the convoy this morning @ChrisW, Ill have to wait till Wednesday night to meet the Aussie legend @_luke_. Today was a good mix with alot of fun with the baja bits. Although my driving is improving it was still me who had to get a tug or two, the first not giving enough gas to climb a hill following a dip, and the second getting plomped on a bushel - someone had to provide the entertainment . Thank you @JC_E for the pull, the wildebeest is not as light as you thought hey.4 points -

Temperature outside was 19° when I reached the meeting point. It was also slightly foggy. The ground seemed wet from the dew or rain from last night. It ended up being a muddy drive. The convoy moved swiftly. In the middle we made some changes to the convoy order, so that everyone is stacked up perfectly. Annoyingly someone on a Porche Cayan interjected himself into the convoy one dune before Big Red and after a while gotten himself stuck. @Andrei S, @Zulfikhar Naiyar & @Rachid recovered him. I would have left him to struggle a bit longer before helping. They should face the consequences of stupidity. I wouldn’t have made them feel help is at hand because that will give them false confidence of doing it again. I couldn't drive very slowly, because my car was making some noise in low RPM and was not getting the power in the low end. So the drive was a bit faster for few than they would have liked. I tried to keep it to the minimum possible. @Shiju Raju: You were a perfect second lead today. Keeping adequate distance. @Rory Noone: Congratulations on your first drive with Carnity. You did very well, and you passed the Carnity test with flying colors thrown at you by Andrie. Your hesitation from the start of the drive was gone by the break time and I could see you doing quite well. @Mohammad Javed: It was our second drive together and I see you as a confident driver. @Harish M: After we upped your convoy order a bit you did fantastic. Your hesitation was gone and you could navigate all the twists and turns I offered confidently. @Rachid: You are ready to take on the next level. A big thank you to @Zulfikhar Naiyar at the center forward and @Andrei S at the sweep for all the support. I would appreciate all yours' feedback on the drive. See you all in the next one. Till then take care.4 points -

Hi All, Thank you @Looper for a fantastic drive to Big Red. The wet sand made it a completely different desert, and you led us through it really smoothly. Thanks @Andrei S for the patience and the feedback. Noted on staying calm and listening to instructions during a recovery, lesson learned! Thanks also @Zulfikhar Naiyar and @Rachid for all the help on the dunes, and congrats on the promotion, Rachid! See you all in sand soon3 points -

@ChrisW - thank you for jumping in for @_luke_ (hope you got home without further delays) - and taking us through the dunes in the opposite direction, so we could learn the different techniques of driving with/against the Sun. I really enjoyed the drive yesterday with the various terrains and speeds. Everyone drove really well, good to see the learning, techniques and confidence coming together enabling us to do such enjoyable drives! P.s - @Piotr., we also tested today the importance of having eyes all around 😜👍 Got home almost at 20:00 after the afternoon drive, so clearly had a “from dawn till dusk” drive yesterday 🤪3 points -

Thanks @Frederic118, @Sheho, @Sandeep Padhi, @DP1011, @Hartzel and @khurramm for a wonderful morning in the sand. And for all being ready to go well before briefing time! We started in the lovely Lisaili dunes, learning to control fish tailing on some long range sidies. Then we moved onto the extended secret garden having some fun in the technical dunes and some seriously soft patches. DP and the FB+ boys showing off with some ridge riding! Lastly we entered the secret garden proper for some flowing runs through the clean dunes. With a stop to practise self recovery and shoveling masterclass. Thanks DP for getting crested so well, wheel in the air and all. After that a short drive to the exit point. Lastly well done @Frederic118 for your 1st time as 2nd lead, you did well keeping good distance and comms.3 points -

Thank you @Looper for a great drive this morning! The wet sand and mud gave the desert a whole new character, yet you led the convoy smoothly all the way to Big Red. Thank you for your kind words and for saying I'm ready for the next level. Hearing that from you means a lot. Your drives have taught me so much, from reading the dunes to keeping the right spacing, and I'm excited for what comes next. Thanks as well for letting us help the Porsche. It was valuable recovery practice for me, and I appreciate the lesson behind your comment: rushing to help can give people false confidence. The desert should never be taken lightly, especially without the right car setup, equipment, knowledge and support. A big thank you to @Shiju Raju, @Zulfikhar Naiyar and @Andrei S for their support throughout the morning and to everyone who joined the drive. Also, the drive report with the convoy, map and speed chart is excellent! Looking forward to the next one.3 points -

Thanks @Mark Bfor an awesome morning... Lots of learning - especially getting the hang of taller dunes and ridges - how to get on to them better.. reattempting and choosing lines based on momentum, and using a bit of steering left right to gain traction in heavily used tracks... And what lovely views... Thanks @Danie, @Thomas54675for the support in getting out of the bowl... See you all in the sand soon.3 points -

An early morning start, after fuel and coffee stop I was overtaken by @M.Seidam on to road to faqa, a nice suprise for the day! Good to see you again. Thanks to @Sam Selim for leading us through the sands, some great lines and good tuition for the newbies thrown in too! @JeromeFJ great to see you again too, look forward to joining one of your drives soon @Sergio del Rio our star of the day and first fewbie for you, you drove very well. As I said at the start, it's always better to loop and re attempt as it allows you to have a second go, adjust and get the maximum learning rather than just powering through. You took the advice and executed a perfect loop and re attempt early on, and after that, driving like a seasoned fewbie, well done sir! @jamil abdollah the ranger raptor is one of the best new cars in the desert I think. Good driving and some nice lines, well done. @khurramm was great to meet you. As we said, following you reminded me of the many drives behind @Islam Soliman old GMC Yukon. Very well controlled, but don't be afraid to take a slightly higher line to ensure you get fully on top or the ridge to avoid gravity dragging you down. @M.Seidam thanks for joining us and being are sweep for the morning. See you all again soon!3 points -

Good afternoon @Waqarㅤ@Luis Acostamadiedo@Igor Krezic@Harish M@J-P L@Jessica Arro@Mohammad Javed@Mark J@Rachid@Stephan Guglieri@Simon Thomas@JC_E For the newcomers in our club Luis and Igor, welcome to Carnity Offroad Club! We are planning on an easygoing track that brings us from Murquab southwards until we reach the Solar Park, which could be a good opportunity to take some photos. From there we will head up North with the plan of exiting nearby the well know three trees. Some small pointers for tomorrow: * Try to arrive by 6.45AM so you have time to deflate and set up your offroad flag. * Upon arrival you can deflate to 14psi. If you need any help we will be glad to help. * We will use Carnity Channel 10: 446.231Mhz on the walkie talkies. If you do not have a radio yet we can lend you one for your first drive. Thank you @Looper for another amazing drive! It was great to be back in the sand after almost a year. The route selection was excellent, avoiding cross tracks as much as possible to make the drive smoother. We also had some good climbs, which I really enjoyed. Everyone drove well and maintained the convoy. Thank you to the support team @Andrei S, @Rachid, @Zulfikhar Naiyarfor a great morning drive, and thanks @Looper for your kind feedback on my role as second lead. See you all on another drive!2 points -

Hi All, thanks @Looper for great drive, it’s been a while since my last trip to pink rock and bid red. Great lines great terrain and pace, at some points it provided fewbie taste! So well done everyone! @Harish M great progress in confidence through the drive, nevertheless please stay calm and listen to the instructions if you are being recovered. thanks @Zulfikhar Naiyar and @Rachid for help recovering this guy in Porsche, they had a kid in the car so we could not left them behind. I advised the guy not to alone and play stupid games. Introduced him to Carnity as well. thank you all! See you in sands2 points -

Thanks for the kind words! Really enjoyed my first Fewbie drive, and your advice made a big difference. That loop and reattempt was a great lesson—sometimes going round twice is part of the fun! 😂 Big thanks to @Sam Selim for leading us through some brilliant lines and to @M.Seidam for looking after us at the back. And thanks to everyone in the convoy for the company, support and encouragement! Still plenty to learn, but this was a fantastic way to start. Looking forward to sharing the sand with you all again soon! 🏜️🙌2 points -

It was cool in the morning around 20°C, it did not last too long though. The entire track was busy and was difficult to find any place we could do stunts. All that I could do is find clean dune tops to keep driving at a steady pace. The convoy kept up with the pace though out and we had only few easy refusals throughout. At about 9:20 we reached the fox hole. We restarted at 9:30 with a target to get out by 10:00. But unfortunately we had a pop out and we had to replace the spare tire. Thank you @Mahmut, @Noufal, @Krinesh, @Beide Worku and @Emanuel for joining the drive. Congratulations @Noufal on your first IM Drive. Special thanks to @Mahmut for the excellent second lead and @Emanuel for your support at the back. See you all soon. Till next time have great weekend.2 points -

A couple pics from the back! A fun drive in some familiar terrain that always seems to be so different during the night. Under the bright light of the moon including the occasional flashes of lightning (let's keep it to that and don't even consider other things going on in the region) it as a great view watching the convoy serpenting through the Sharjah desert from behind! Sand, learning opportunities and chai, what else does on need on a Wednesday evening!!2 points -

Thank you @Sam Selim for another Coffee Club night out, with the cooling air it is really enjoyable. Also thank you for allowing me the opportunity to practise giving some support, and for @Pierre-andre Nutte who gave me those chances. The take-away is to keep instructions short and simple, so it is clear to the person receiving them, and helps avoid cognitive overload. It amazes me how quickly our skills improve in the desert. Congratulations @Pierre-andre Nutte on your first FB drive and what a privilege for you as a father to have your son join in your adventure.2 points -

That’s one heck of a bible @Barry! apart from the usefulness I would recommend perhaps splitting this up in portions, like for example weekly chapters. The main reason is most people don’t read long articles anymore these days and all information should be drip fed 😉. Happy to help out setting up something like a Barry’s Blog section or something like that 😄1 point

Good Morning @Frederic118, @Sheho and @Sandeep Padhi thanks for joining this drive. Please be at the Lisaili meeting point in time to be ready for a 07h00 briefing. With a short convoy we should be able to get some good distance covered and truly enjoy the variety of terrain that this area of the desert offers. Convoy order is as follows and I plan on using channel 10 on the radios.1 point -

In the morning we will use https://sandscope.net/gpxapp/ to track the convoy. We will use this instead of Garmin Tread app. You can add it to your phone as a web app. No sign in required. I will create a code in the morning so that we can drive as convoy.1 point -
