  1. Orale cabron, I've always loved the suspension setup on these Baja Trophy trucks. Would like to see one in the dunes here though.
  2. The rule of thumb is 1 additional HP for every degree drop in temperature but I was talking about the snorkel as some people also claim CAI boost from it. And unlike Sheep the Land Rover Defender comes with a much more cooler looking solution or
  3. I think the Boat Tail Riviera was one of the most snazziest looking cars ever made.
  4. Gaurav is bang on with his post. It's not needed here, the 0.5 hp you gain from CAI with it is lost with the massive restriction of the snorkel. Most here usually prefer form over fuction. All these jeepers with armour plated bodies 2 inch steel bunper. 6 inch lift kits massive knoblly mud tyres and enough lights to light up a stadium only use it to go to the beach on the weekend in the winters.
  5. In my opinion and interactions they really hate being told what to do ans insist they know everything and their way is the right way. Have had many arguments with mechanics where I stood my ground and insisted on what and how something needs to be done. Obviously many weren't gracious enough to eat humble pie later.
  6. Fortunately haven't had such an experience, although it wasn't for the lack of grease monkeys trying to rip me off though. Also to add to Barry. I've met more good mechanics than bad ones Also I can take some pride in saying over the years I've probably stopped more people than I can remember from being ripped off too. But I do have this one good friend who is a glutton for punishment mostly due to being impatient. Be lazy and knowing absolutely nothing about cars also doesnt help. Sometimes he goes in knowing hes getting ripped off but in some weird grand scheme of things in his mind its worth it somehow.
  7. Nope, didn't feel a thing. But remember a few decent tremors some years back. Worst feeling in the world. When The one thing you always take for granted the ground being solid turns into jelly! I remember the last time I felt a tremor was while I was taking a dump in the loo and the only thing I could think of was damn I dont want to be rescued from a pile of rubble with my pants down around my ankles!
  8. I think my total spend in fines since I've been driving cant me more than 4000. One traffic violation in the past 10 years.. So majority of those was in my younger years. Pays to be a cautious driver and drive like a granny on road.
  9. Also his nose is also exactly like Freddie's. Probably thats what gives him that same resonance and timbre
  10. I'm not a die hard Queen fan per say but am from the time when Freddie was alive and when Queen were still in the charts. I loved their videos watching them on Chart Atack with Simon Potter. It's a kind of Magic was one of my favourites videos In fact I clearly remember watching Live Aid, Channel 33 dubai broadcast it live and my elder brother recording it on our VCR! (probably showing my age here!) The famine in Africa was really a big thing it was in the papers and news all the time, so we did our part by watching the concert! Hey I was kid what else could do! lol I also remember the day when gulf news Tabloid had a full page Pic of Freddie Mercury. The head line read Freddy Mercury is dead. So watching this kinda brought back some memories from childhood and early teens. It wasn't just another story but something that I remember experiencing first hand, sorta. P.S : Extreme also did a great set of Queen hits medley at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert and is really worth a watch. I would say my second best live performance after Queen at live aid.
  11. Well I finally caved in and watched it, it was an ok one time watch, holes and all but Rami as freddy made it worth it and also discovering Freddie Mercury reincarnated aka Marc Martel man just close your eyes and is Freddie back from the dead !
  12. As soon as I saw the title of the thread Badain Jaran came to mind, but then opened the thread to see its all about Badain Jaran. I've been fascinated by this desert for over a decade now. I think the boys are doing an episode there in the current season of The Grand Tour. Should be good telly.
  13. Sometimes. My Sheep was named Chuck and my Discovery Big Red. Was never able to come up with names that suited any of the multitudes of range rovers I owned or own.
  14. Oh thats just the Jeeps new adjustable height feature. Unfortunately Jeep engineers didnt read the title of the memo completely where it said the boss wanted Adjustable height suspension. So they just went with adjustable height.
  15. Land Cruiser Pick Up. Fun on the road and off the road and built like a tank, indestructible.
  16. You are still imagining. And unfortunately rav will never be on that list. To even qualify to be on the list you need to be a proper 4x4, with a low ratio transfer case.
  17. I think its going to kick some serious ass in the desert, doesn't even need lockers as all 4 wheels have independent motors So you have "locked diffs" at all speeds and with that much power! And its priced pretty cheap if compared to similar regular luxury vehicles. $65,000, thats mid spec Land Cruiser money With a 600 plus km range pretty good for a fun day of bashing about in the desert, Other than the front end love the styling in and out. I've been following Rivian for a while now and have become somewhat of a fan Can't you see I've already converted ! lol I was just saying thank gof for EFI in the sense that we didn't have to deal with carbs all this time. Even worse offroad. Had an old ass 4x4 when stopped or driven slow at any angle other than level flat for any length of time would sputter and die. The gas would fall out of the bowl
  18. Oh please don't talk about stupid carbs. The other car I am using nowadays is a carb engined 1990 Toyota bloody hell have to wait 10 mins every morning for the stupid thing to warm up, doesn't even have a choke to have to sit there with foot on pedal. Blegh good riddance to bad rubbish! And god bless EFI
  19. Off topic, this dude is on a roll. Just bought the new Ford GT and McLaren Senna and now this! Ah so even the styling BMW ! No wonder
  20. Check out Shmee's YouTube channel he posted the indepth inside and outside tour of the A90. And yeah looks like a generic Toyota. They all look the same now. Twice this week I was trying to get into a white corolla thinking its my rental Yaris. This could be mistaken for any of the new lexus sports lineup. I really hate this trend where manufacturers are trying to make all their cars look the same. Damn Porsche for starting this trend ans damn the rest for following those idiots. And if you think its bad on the outside its worse under the hood and inside. It has a BMW straight six meaning shitty overheating unreliable engines which blow head gaskets if you look at them wrong. All interior switch gear from the old BMW parts bin, including that shitty BMW shifter you get from the 3 series to the 7. All BMW electronis Basically a BMW with a new Toyota body. Toyota seriously shot them selves in the foot collabing with BMW on such an iconic car. The whole appeal of the old Supra was its 2JZ relaible and its undestructible motor which you could tune upto 7-800hp with basically the same internals and even 1000 with slight inner mods. But now you have that stupid inline 6 from a 3 series. Toyota shot themselves in the foot ( did I mention that already? ) by making a BMW in Toyotas clothing. Proving Toyota has lost all creativity when it comes to making new cars. The last attempt was the 86, which was basically a rebadged Subaru. The new Rush SUV is a rebadged Daihatsu. The Land Cruiser and prado are overdue for the next gen but Toyota just added more chrome ans uglier lights and grill ans called it new. Should have just rebadged a BMW M3 as the new Supra and saved themselves the trouble
