Thule make some good aerodynamic and easy to install storage box. Check their site for something that can fit on Pajero roof rail and then find a distributor here to buy. Less headache and much better looking too.
-
@sertac is your friend still giving away that Thule storage box?

These (Grunter and Michellin) cigg lighter ones are too slow and will heat up after 2 tires and cut-off to make you wait to cool off. I recently saw @Anoop joseph using the Michelin one in Sweihan drive last week, maybe he can share his experience here. Buy a better brand that runs with direct big fat cable from battery so it will inflate faster and longer due to more AMP draw.

Hi @Bernd Stucke welcome to Carnity and its off-road club. Everyone has shared a very good and fair approach on knowing your vehicle first before start modifying it, this advise you seldom get anywhere else. Jeeps have plenty of mods in the market and most of them are purely for looks, appeal and head turning approach. One of the most famous of all is to have BIGGEST POSSIBLE tires with biggest suspension lift to make it look like a monster Jeep. I totally agree they look awesome but they aren't useful for sand desert and inherently risky (prone to roll-over) with such high lift without widening the stance in the same proportion. Mud-Terrain (aggressive tread) oversize (33-37 Inch) beefy looking tires comes with super heavy weight, so unless you intend to do some slow speed mountain crawling or climbing, they are practically useless in the sand. Rather these bigger and heavier tires will slow you down and restrict your long hill climb "substantially". Long hill climb is an every offroader dream and goal to reach on top of the tall dunes and when your head turner jeep can't make it even 50% of the climb, then you will get into power modification (another money pit). Exhaust, headers, filter, chip-tuning, supercharger, re-gearing ratio etc. So bottom line, I was trying to explain here that how one wrong (not required) move can make you link with another expensive mods is like a chain reaction and there is literally no-end to this vicious circle. And even after all the mods and power mods you will be able to squeeze 10-20% power gain with plenty of risky and some borderline illegal (not allowed by RTA) stuff will open another issue of sacrificing the reliability of your Jeep in the long run. We see crazy stupid highly modified 4x4 catching fire in the desert almost every month and you will see there remains too once you start heading in common areas. With gladiator being LWB you will need extra skills, practise and patience to manage this long vehicle in tight spots and knowing its true capabilities and limitations. It's nothing alarming, but just bringing it here, so that you know that before going to the mod-route you have a long way to master this beast and its own set of unique challenges. Hope to see you soon in the sand.

Sorry, can't share the secret not allowed here. Go to Gulf Coast (they don't have) and in the same line you have 20+ shops and I was done in the first few shops. https://goo.gl/maps/WawxtT9GmhPhmVyk7

To stay completely unbiased to safeguard every Carnity member interest, we have restricted brand promotions and sharing of car business details here. As in past many car businesses have motivated Carnity members to promote their brand and products by flooding meaningful discussions. Hence we have decided to stay focused on practical, relevant and unbiased solutions, rather than the solution providers. Thank you for your understanding.

Just last week I replaced all my tires to Yokohama Geolander G015. This is my third set and I'm using them since 2014, and I couldn't be more happier. Earlier it was G012 now it become G015 made in Thailand. They both look and behave same but long term review i can share after an year only. They are awesome in sand and equally good on road. I bought from Sharjah tire market for 1600 for 4 with fitting and vat. So go there and haggle with couple of shops to get a deal. 1600 for 4519 manufacturing 1800 for 1420 manufacturing Also make sure to stand on their head to see balance machine showing 0 | 0 on both sides, as these boys are cheeky at times for last 5 or 10 gm weight and then you will have vibrations on highway cursing geolander.

Snorkel or no snorkel.. ? for Driving in Desert.
Gaurav replied to Rizwan Waheed's topic in Off-Road Club's Discussions
Totally agree with @Alexander Alcala for bigger tire and lifted suspension is must for improving wading height, but don't get confused that same will result wonder in the desert. In sand off-roading power-to-weight is king and bigger tires (usually heavier) tires will make you struggle a lot while hill climb and cross tracks where you need an instant power to spin tires against huge resistance. I have struggled a lot with my Patrol SWB with BF Goodrich tires and when changed to lighter tires it made a HUGE improvement. -
Snorkel or no snorkel.. ? for Driving in Desert.
Gaurav replied to Rizwan Waheed's topic in Off-Road Club's Discussions
Not to the best of my knowledge, or rather it will do opposite as once some wise men said here: Try breathing through a straw while on treadmill. Anybody selling you this as a performance mod, tell him you will do two dyno test and if results aren't supporting then you need your money back including the dyno test spend. You will get your answer instantly. Some company claims for better filtration and long life of engine - such grey and slippery areas to market that you cant prove anyways. If its for looks, then def go ahead and buy a stick-on 100 usd fake snorkel than the real one. Let your Pajero breath how they were supposed to breath unless you intend to do water wading like Fredy mentioned.
