  1. OK I have been silently reading this space and holding my temptation to not to spoil your fun or be harsh on your emotions, but keeping all my good man behavior aside, I strongly think you all need to face the truth to get out from a stage of denial. SORRY, in advance guys. Y62 and Y61 are """"""""DIFFERENT"""""""" Animals all together. Please do not compare sofa with a television, they both have different uses. Y61 in a completely stock state can do over 90% of all off-roading you can ever wish to do, provided you learn the real art of offf-roading. Remaining 10% things reserved for motorsport, dune championship and flying from one dune to another dune contenders - usually shown in insta, fb and youtube videos for stunts or for provoking you to empty all your pockets. Y62 with all the possible off-road mods will be at par or lower with Y61 in a stock state, because Y61 has been designed to do almost everything that a normal offroader want based on decades of research and development along with extensive testing in GCC. Now same goes for any dedicated stock offroaders too like FJC, Xterra, Wrangler etc. Now firstly all you Y62 owners ask yourself if you are among 10% or 90% of offroaders. If you are in 10%, then you have a wrong choice of car, look for rally bred homologated vehicle that you can tow in a trailer every Friday and beat her to death on every dune with extreme modifications. If you are in 90%, then focus on learning the off-roading first and then decide to work on real limitation of your Y61 or Y62. Y62 are inherently heavy, so no matter what version you drive with V8 - 400 hp, you are always struggling to manouver a chariot on small ridges, pockets, bumps and sharp dunes. Please IGNORE the biased reviews, police cars and mod company advertisement if you want the real truth, as none of them selling you any truth, they are just selling you a modified cars or mods to make your heavy beast a looker than a real off-roader. Did you know how many mods any country police car has and all of them are not street legal to catch the bad guys or to reach to difficult places. So stop looking at stars and walking on earth, you will damage your toe or a knee. For finding a real truth, next time you visit any good known desert look around and see what percentage of people driving Y62 with or without extreme modifications and you will get an answer. What will I do, If I am in your place. Keep Y62 for family fun, light offroading, camping, beach trip etc. Get 20K-40K AED bone stock used Xterra or FJC or Y61 or Wrangler and learn off-roading first and then spend a single dime after 3-6 months of offroad driving.
  2. Hi @asifk welcome to Carnity and its off-road club. I really don't know any place outside DM who sells radio. I heard someone mention once Bur dubai mena bazaar but I don't know the exact shop or whereabouts. For DM you can call Noman +971 55 780 7590 and I think he told me last I visited that now they do deliveries as well. Worth checking with him (if I rem correctly). For compressor I highly recommend Bushranger, and have you checked the sale at ACE as they always run some great offers on bushranger compressor as people stopped buying these now because of 1/4 price from DM. I'm using bushranger since over 8 years and still kicking and inflating fine after every week off-road. You can click on Leave Event as admin might remove you from all drives, tomorrow.
  3. Thanks @Chaitanya D for your expert inputs. We have planned and added new briefing pattern on the announcement post above. Hope everyone complies to it for everyone safety and hygiene.
  4. I havent heard of Reese, but they look quite sturdy. Check the rating, that is important and quality of rating printed is with good amount of information and not just 9000000 LB, AMP, PMPO lolol.
  5. Bushranger is reliable and seems rated from your image. Ramy is not a brand, instead a shop that sells thousand brand product. Dig deeper and find out which brand pin is that? Is it rated? Why ACE doesn't have the bushranger pin....?
  6. Hope it's a rated one and not the fake stamp with dummy numbers, because if it break it will be very expensive to pay for the damages.

  9. Finally we have done the first ever Carnity drive on Saturday, thanks to all those who kept on asking on social media. I gather the courage to post a first test-out drive for Saturday and to my surprise we have had full house within first 3 days - 15 cars. After that I kept on getting messages for allowing 1 more car and 1 more car repeatedly. As per the new convoy restriction from safety aspect, we all are supposed to keep the count to max of 15 cars in any single convoy. Irrespective of that, still few people made on meeting point and they just got lucky as few others didn't show up, which gave a chance to balance the equation fairly. As it was an absolute newbie drive without a single absolute newbie, so I decided to bump up the level after first 30 minutes and to my surprise everyone managed very well and we all had plenty of roller coaster dunes, steep drops and side sloping in play area for fewbie and above level members. By 5 PM we have reached the pylon track and started our final climb to Fossil rock to enjoy the breath taking sunset view with a best desert landscape for our selfies. Before 6 PM all cars made on top of fossil rock except one, our dear friend @Alexander Sarte as his trusted Toyota 4runner decided to give up half way up the climb. There was no sign of engine overheating or any other mechanical damage or accident but just it wasn't moving in any gear. We tried shifting to Lo and High but gear wasn't engaging and kept on making grinding noise as soon as we drop in D or any other gear. With sunset almost there, we decided to split the team. @Xaf and @Ale Vallecchi started to help Alex by pushing the 4runner to flat ground as Xaf explained above. On the other side, @Shamil helped me in moving rest of the car from fossil rock drop and we manage to reach the tarmac just before it gets dark. After this test of time, we both rushed inside to coordinate efforts with others to get 4runner out to pylon track. Ale and Xaf did a wonderful job of doing the safest recovery as much as they could do and then stopped for sketching a new route. This approach is very important while doing any extreme recovery that every move you make should be well calculated and not based on emotions, aggression or chances. Once we joined them Ale showed me the path and we went ahead to correct a little and chalk out all options of our success rate to reach out. We analyse all options and gave all option to Alexander to choose: Call your mechanic to inspect or fix on site Call AAA desert recovery to tug vehicle out We tug the vehicle out but in case any of our car get damage due to extreme recovery then Alexander will be responsible for that damage. Although we have same thing written in our roles and responsibilities here, but before carrying out such extreme recover that has 50% success rate, it was important for us to mention this in advance. With Alexandar level headed approach, he decided to leave the car inside, Shamil was kind enough to drop them home and later Alexander came back with his mechanic in the night, which I assume didn't went well. Today afternoon, he got the car out with the help of AAA recovery experts and more we can hear from him, whenever he is free to share more updates. @Xaf I can understand your feeling but I think what Alexander did was the wisest decision to not to take a chance and let professional recovery experts handle the situation. Moving a dead weight of 2 ton vehicle over 2-3 km of dunes is extremely risky and complicated with our limited resources in hand and at night time. Of course such situation is not an every day story, sometime taking back few steps is a very good move, eventually. I hope his 4runner get repaired soon with least amount of downtime and expense.
  10. Please share your previous desert driving experience here and we do take self declaration very positively. Based on your previous experience, trip lead might consider your participation.
  11. Mirror finish reflecting the garage roof.
  12. Not safe distance between white pajero and your patrol, you could have pulled over little earlier when you have seen the white Pajero stopped. Stopped on slightly inclined than on flat ground, which made it difficult to move up again. Pay 100% attention to close vicinity before you stop as you have completely missed the dip on right side where you hit the bumper. You could have reversed out if car had a refusal to climb up than going side ways which is not a part of the track that entire convoy took. If you knew that dip on right and if you still have to go through it, no matter what, could have taken that dip with very slow speed. Irrespective of all above "minor" mistakes, your bumper design, material or angle is not perfect for such use. Research more on the best ways to avoid such damage and get the strong bash plate and skid plate.
  13. Sorry @sheri, @Zed, @Nizam Deen, @Salarios, @tjsingh for tomorrow afternoon newbie drive RSVP limit has been reached and cannot be extended for any car. Please dont come to the meeting point, as unfortunately I'll have to refuse it as we cant increase any single convoy size to more than 15 cars as per new safety rule we have implemented recently. Hope you understand the safety norms, and try to RSVP events more ahead of time, next time.
  14. Thanks for the self declaration, you can join today afternoon drive and we will evaluate you to promote you to fewbie after that.

  18. This goes for everything now in this world of unlimited digital power. WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube universities convince, brainwash and hypnotize people views more than any advertising now. People believe their WhatsApp groups fwd so religiously that they keep on helping spread the rumour over million people in a day. If this all was not enough then FB came with recommendations: - which tires is good? - whole world come fwd to help this guy with best brand tires, sizes, prices and eventually forget to ask if he needs a truck, car, bike, bicycle or a tractor tire. People are busy on one side that they have no time for anything left now, then they are so free that they have all the time to scroll through mindless feeds x 50 times a day.
  19. According to WhatsApp university UNICEF, WHO, HEALTH Ministry graphics says COVID can't stand temperature above 27 degrees. If it's really true, then we all are really very fortunate to be in a hot country and summers almost approaching that everyday by noon we are touching 30+
