  1. Good, you are very intelligent in reading between the lines after 3 consecutive attempt to toast your Rav4.
  2. OMG, that seriously looks like a nasty accident and car toasted so bad......! I think it looks more bad than a petrol vehicle damage when catches the fire or it's just me being a petrol-head all the time.
  3. It was nice meeting and driving with you too, and you responded very well in such a tricky area. Looking forward to seeing you more often.
  4. After immense interest, big smiles and enthusiasm I have seen on few people faces during last drive, I think some of our drivers are ready now for more challenging terrain. Area 53 is an extension of bidayer area but with medium - big dunes with sharp rise and fall. Truly perfect for rushing your adrenaline and hone your desert driving controls. This area requires precise control as one moment you climb up with full throttle and second moment you crawl at low rev before hitting the gas again for sideways climb. This drive is not meant for newbie - fewbie level, and drivers should have at least 8-10 drives experience in an easy - intermediate level. When: 15 June 2017, Thursday Meeting time: 11 PM, convoy will move sharp at 11:15 PM Where: Bidayer shops GPS Coordinate: https://goo.gl/maps/b4LPnVr5wBB2 Level of drive: Intermediate - Expert - Advance Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 10 inches of ground clearance Plan: Night drive from Bidayer to Iftar Bowl and enjoy suhoor together. What to bring along: Evening snacks, food for suhoor - whatever you like with little extra to share, water, liquids, smiles, stories, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Approximate finish time: 5 AM, 16 June 2017, Friday List your name and mobile number in this drive thread and RSVP the below calendar:

  7. It was indeed once in a year opportunity to witness thousand's of fellow offroaders in UAE in one single place, was the main highlight of this drive. We started drive on time, and as decided we quickly covered the first 10 kms on the track next to the fence. Then we had a quick brief for the slightly challenging drive ahead and even more challenging last couple of hundred meters next to Iftar bowl due to too much traffic and cross tracks. We managed to reached almost next to Iftar bowl and then detour for easier route to circle the bowl from the other side so that all the cars can make it next to the main area. After little struggle and few refusals we made it to the Iftar bowl where we witnessed more than 10-15 off-road clubs join together with several hundreds of their member and cordoned the area for their cars. After little search, we find the sweet spot right in front of Iftar bowl towards little right and spread the Iftar food and setup the live cooking station. Rahimdad and family were really prepared with tons of food, dessert, tea and snacks that helped all of us in first and second seating. As the time came to break the fast, we all sat together and ate almost anything available on the table till the point that everyone was so stuff that no one was able to move an inch from their position. With so many different cuisines and style of food, we still end this seating with yummy live tea that energized everyone and gave us the much needed kick to get started for Iftar bowl long hill climb. Although by now Iftar bowl hill climb was as busy as Dubai-Sharjah traffic but still plenty of people kept trying to climb from the front face. As we were enjoying the tea, someone place 4 rounds of nice fireworks on top of Iftar bowl that everyone enjoyed at the end of Iftar. Now it's time to go on top of Iftar bowl and after few attempt 4 of our cars made to the top of Iftar bowl and we enjoyed the awesome view and breeze. While coming down we heard that Rav4 hit the nose down on sharp crest and broken it's radiator from two sides. We moved half of our cars to support Saleem and and other half packed up the Iftar spread and joined all of us next to Saleem's car. We spend almost 3-4 hours there and opened the second round of eating at 11 PM and by grace of god, we still had enough food for all. After couple of round of M-Seal application, Saleem managed to fix the Rav4 and tested its leak in desert to be perfectly fine and holding the radiator pressure as it supposed to. Finally closer to the midnight, we all exited safely and inflated all our cars at adnoc near madam round about. Now is the time for the best driver prize based on all drivers vote. Although it was a close call of 2 votes for Ahmed and Basel, but in end Rahimdad break that tie by voting for Basel as a best driver to hold the second lead position with great respect and command. Overall it was fun filled drive, ended with a Rav4 fixing challenge for the second time in a row tells that AWD cars with low clearance and weaker tow hook should look out for simpler newbie level drive than an Intermediate level to avoid extra toll.
  8. You may be right Saleem, but I second with Barry on this as I am a firm believer of sticking to what owner manual says when it comes to all car fluids. Changing this for once or twice might not impact anything now, but it might age the engine faster or behave different few years down the line or prepone the maintenance schedule due to wrong grade of oil.
  9. Everyone, please note meeting point slightly changed to 200 meters ahead after Tawi NIzwa Shops to avoid the evening rush. When: 9 June 2017, Friday Meeting time: 4 PM, convoy will move sharp at 4:15 PM Where: Jabal Arafat Supermarket GPS Coordinate: https://goo.gl/maps/wxKht3VLdZU2
  10. Please check with Rahim bhai or with Shadow (Saleem) Welcome Ahmed, for your first drive with us. Do share little about your off-road experience and RSVP the calendar please. Good to see back after gladiator fighting. RSVP the calendar please.
  11. Call below spare part guys who deals in Jeep and give you car VIN number and they can arrange the same in probably half of the price: https://carnity.com/search/?&q=jeep&type=cms_records5&nodes=83&sortby=relevancy
  12. Well that's a very bold statement that Dubai isn't selling 0w20 engine oil......lol. Call these spare part guys who deals in Honda and check: https://carnity.com/search/?&q=honda&type=cms_records5&nodes=83&sortby=relevancy
  13. Like danny said as it not too bad, because the Japanese cars focus too little on sound proofing unlike German or UK cars - different world altogether. What I meant is, don't spend too much time and money in perfecting after all the basic checks are done.
  14. Mobil 1 and Castrol Edge has 0W20 spec oil, google their dealer and find out how much it is and where is the nearest retailer they have: Mobil 1™ Extended Performance 0W-20 Mobil 1™ Advanced Fuel Economy 0W-20 CASTROL EDGE 0W-20 CASTROL EDGE EXTENDED PERFORMANCE 0W-20 CASTROL GTX MAGNATEC 0W-20
  15. Remote car starter is the thing what Barry is suggesting. While looking for one, look for the one that comes with knocking option on the windscreen. I have seen this lately in Russia, that windscreen will have small circle saying knock-knock and when driver is away and car is parked and someone knock on that sticker it will beep the keychain that driver carries means someone want to reach you. Simply brilliant.
  16. As per the codes, I have an option to check all system in car from dash on board computer and for second time when car started it was showing "Service Advancetrac" that's a Ford stability system. I wasted full day online yesterday to search Amaron or Varta for Mustang but failed as those batteries doesn't come in Mustang size DIN type battery as per few monkeys over the phone. Went to Rask al khor by myself with current battery dimensions and bought similar size Amaron 74 AMP, went home and plugged it in and car started and roared without a hiccup. Drove for an hour with ear to ear smile. What a total waste of time and learning curve to not to trust in-dash battery checker showing battery is good, green eye like saleem said is also waste of time. Thanks Barry for being very helpful on phone and advices for debugging, to doubt more on battery.
  17. Are you serious that Accord need 0w-20.....? Check your owners manual for exact specs. I had Cayenne, Range Rover and ML all of them listed 0w30 -0w40 for UAE climate. 1000 AED for oil change is really too much. My current Ford Mustang get full minor service for 500-600 with fully synthetic oil for 10k kms.
  18. Great good luck then, but do keep a constant eyes while off-roading as Pajero heating is always on borderline and with slight bump in heat AT gets heated up quickly. Btw, habtoor won't fix that as they won't have this available as AT cooler fan never comes here. So you always need to do some work around solution to find and fit other car model fan. I doubt that by taking extra precaution you can void the warranty but you will extend your gearbox life, still worth discussing with dealer and get it in writing that they won't void the warranty before you go this route. Back to original topic now, have you feel any major difference on-road driving after chip tuning? Have you done before and after 0-100 by yourself? Have you record before and after fuel consumption?
