  1. Recently my wife's trail blazer head light low beam conged off, showed to two good electrician and none of them could spot what is wrong. Bulbs are fine, fuses are fine but still power is not going to the holder. On further diagnose found out that there is HDM solid state relay no:46 that could be culprit as it control Headlight Module. Went to Chevrolet dealer in Dubai - liberty automobile today to buy and they don't have that in stock as it's a special relay and it cost 365 Dhs on pre-order. So if anyone has similar trailblazer, I like to pass by and borrow that relay for testing and find out if that's the actual culprit or not? Ours is 2009 model with I6 - 4.2 liter engine - GCC specs.
  2. Amazing el-cheapo idea , as I also don't wanna spend too much on music system considering my offroad driving style might toss these heavy gizmo's in first few months.
  3. Well to best of my knowledge, I guess this how leather age's as all my cars had leather seats and I have witnessed this throughout from Japanese - Germans - US car brands. Only thing for DIY is to keep polishing with meguir leather conditioner once a month, will help reducing the further occurrence as if leather is properly moisturized then these creases will not increase and slight chance it may reduce after regular use.
  4. @wingnut your name has been added to the main list on first page. You and @Mujtaba please provide your real name (full name) and mobile number, as it's important to coordinate through out the drive. I have added mine and Rahimdad's number.
  5. This seems like a genius idea buddy, now I know why in Mustang there is no sub woofer I can see but Shaker speakers are so loud and thumping it can vibrate the car in half volume, and that also has similar 4 speaker setup but really fat speakers you can make out from the enclosure.
  6. Thanks @ameen for more detailed input, anyone knows from where to get these all aluminum performance radiator? @desertdude I have changed that two core OEM with 3 core copper+brass radiator 3-4 years back from dolphin and still has always this borderline heating while pushing. Though this car was not on full time offroad so never bothered to dig deeper in the past.
  7. Ameen your story some what sounds like my swb pajero scenario, no space for sub woofer and amp. Living on driver door and rear speaker since 7 years. If you find some good quality solution please let me know.
  8. Absolutely yes, just to make sure that it's in stock state and you haven't added any body kit (that might be a bit of concern).
  9. Thanks @Rahimdad for adding my name, am looking forward for this drive. Just an additional thought: you can bring any 4x4 car, but just make sure it has front and rear tow hook or at least an eyelit for recovery.
  10. This seems like never ending debate and research for me and my friend who drive for track and pushes the car to extreme and I do same for off-road. We both looking to upgrade the cooling system and tired of researching 100000 pros and cons of both. Can someone more experience here shed some light which one is actually better and why?
  11. If he like to have fun then Panamera GTS any day IMHO. If he has huge budget go with 2017 model.
  12. Thanks @desertdude this aux cooler can fit along with existing tranny cooler or we have to remove the existing one. If I'm going the louver route, will definitely get something that suit along with good body shop work.
  13. Thanks @desertdude for tranny heads up and I think you might be right too, as in one of the instance while climbing fossil rock area from center (beaten up track), gauge started rising but I continue as I was done by 90% hill climb and when I kept continuing the climb, after reaching on top A/T light came up too, which usually never popped in last 6 years. Any ways too 100% check if A/T cooler need change or an upgrade?
  14. I already tried that on my mechanic advise and yes it helped to a great extent that in Liwa it only popped up the gauge once in whole 113 kms offroad. However, it doesn't look very nice to my eyes and that's why I am thinking of hood louver option. Btw my SWB patrol had hood louvers too, but RTA wasn't very strict in those good old days.
  15. Thanks @Rahimdad for suggestion, but I need two and both facing backward to let hot air exit. Above pic seems more like an intake than exhaust. In my engine bay in current place manifold is sitting right under the hood, leaving no space for hot air to exit.
  16. My Pajero on some occasions heat up by 15-20% in off-road while self recovering or doing some extreme hill climb at 5-6k revs and then drop down pretty fast in few minutes. I was thinking of installing hood louvers and someone advise me that I might face some issues with RTA in next car passing by cutting down the hood. Appreciate if anyone have done this mod can share their experience if car got passed in RTA testing in Dubai with the hood louvers installed or not. http://hoodlouvers.com/shop/powder-coated-black-reg-flow-2/
  17. Al Jadaf ship repairing yard has many shops that giveaway or sell scrap wood, which is perfect for barbecue or bonfire. Recently discovered this place who sells it, so no more favour looking faces...! Simply go there and he will load the trunk to your desire and pay him something like 20-30 dhs for whole lot. Guy name: Majid Ali (056 459 6866) Gps coordinate: https://goo.gl/maps/Y4CBjF8A2wT2
  18. Your fine should have come in week's time (max), and more than likely it must have flashed on some other car if you were on 90.
  19. Pre-owned cars are very good thing as explained above you save tons on depreciation. Only con is you need to learn how to avoid buying a lemon or reversed odometer cars, which is quite common in Dubai. As per my personal experience most of the car dealers here directly or indirectly indulge in such reversing kms activity to get extra value of their car. I spotted more than 5 times in al awir with different cars, some were so stupid to not to remove oil change sticker from driver door sill that reads 200K+ and odometer reads 86k. lol.
  20. I even seen a mobile radar hiding behind a white corolla on Maliha road today morning, please be careful guys.
  21. Happy new year to all carnity great members. Have a blast and enjoy responsibly
  22. Yes it could be engine mount, but when you said jerking added with slow acceleration first doubt is transmission bad oil / slipping transmission (failing clutch). See if you can double check the gear oil by some good professional and not only trusting the enoc/eppco guys. Same mechanic can check the engine mounts and also gear mounts (visual inspection). @Barry do you still provide carnity members free diagnosis...?
  23. There are multiple things I doubt here, proper mechanic look can identify the main culprit. Hope your car is serviced regularly and have fresh engine oil, spark plug and working coils. If this is not done, get these done first as a basic maintenance. If after above basic maintenance still have same issue then get the transmission oil check or replaced and see if it helps, as what you are mentioning (jerking) usually happen when auto gearbox is at end of its life. Have you ever changed the transmission oil? What is the current odometer kms of your car? Are you the first owner or second / third? If second or third then we can also suspect that previously failing gearbox has been rebuilt with sub standard parts which are dying now slowly.
  24. May be you need to break it down your questions more properly for us to understand: When you stop on signal car engine get shut off? (Yes / No) When you stop on signal car engine rpm drops and have rough idle? (Yes / No) Is your car having automatic gear or manual? When it shakes you means, when you engage in gear and hit accelerator it starts with jerk? (Yes / No) What you mean by car is not moving and engine is uncontrollable: Please explain more.
