Most imports are salvage / flooded / stolen cars in UAE, so don't just buy on that story of first owner and check all service records and carfax history to be 100% sure. Coming to GCC version, it's always best to stick to GCC specs which are made for hot climate. But some manufacturers and some models are same in many regions, so better to get some real person advise on this. I think @Alexander Alcala has bought his Jeep in US/Canada and imported here for his own use, maybe he can advise if US Spec Jeeps are keeping fine in GCC climate. Also if you go this route then be ready for literally zero support from local dealer here, unless you are ready for arm twisting over emails to Jeep Mideast and US. No dealers like to touch and service non-gcc cars here and treat them like a mars-rover. We dont have parts, no wiring diagram, no service manual bla bla bla.

Fabricating own tow point will be extremely risky, than relying on the rated tow hooks from reputed off-road companies. Secondly tow point ideally should be secured with 3 bolts for proper safety than just 2. Xterra inherently has a weak tow points, that doesn't justify that they are good or usable again. Doing it proper job will save repeated hassle and also save you from expensive damage if your tow point fail and hit other car, where you supposed to pay for all the damages due to your tow point failure. Trust me its better to let her drive so she joins too, otherwise wifey drive joining quota last 2-3 drives as a passenger. I learned offroading for my wife and then after 3 drives she got bored and I got the sand bug for life.

For the first drive (ONLY) you can use the spare radio that Marshal may have, from second drive onwards you need to bring your own radio, shovel and safety flag - Mandatory for all.
