@Barry nailed it perfectly with technical explanations. Well done. @anish if you didnt had any A/T issue then normal transmission service is more than enough for your case. The first telltale sign of ageing A/T fluid is jerk while shifting especially from 1st to 2nd gear and then in desert driving A/T light will keep coming quiet frequently. Occasional A/T light occurrence are acceptable when you push your car too much in cross tracks, it really heats up A/T oil on cross tracks. So if you don't have these issues at the moment normal 5 liter OEM fluid is plenty for your transmission service.

@Wael Mounier yesterday was not the first time you and your friend have been reminded politely and verbally. All trip lead remind people politely on every drive, as we do understand that sometimes everyone slips off. But the answer to the question: where is your mask, when replied with "its inside the car with a shrugging and no forgetful looks" do require such warning if we decide to protect other offroaders. It's really not about having more or less of members, as you might perceive but simply about respecting the law of land and safety for everyone is PRIME, not only in words but in actions too (if needed). And btw, while inflating you are still within the drive responsibilities unless you move yourself out of the inflation point, which was not the case as you were surrounded by 8 other cars and risking everyone. @Dagdag Sofiane I'm sorry you feel that way, but it wasn't your first time either. I humbly request all of you to take this as a gentle but last reminder as we ourselves don't like such harsh rules. But in this difficult times when we only have a permission to drive and not socialize yet from Police, we are bound to enforce such rules to the highest degree possible with zero tolerance to not jeopardize other offroaders safety and not to violate any laws.

Really well done. @Jason Johnson it was good to see you and a manual wrangler, now we are seeing one manual wrangler on almost every second absolute newbie drive. Managing manual gear for off-road is totally different than on road where half clutch help you spin tires, but in off-road same will dig you deeper. I am sure with little time and practice you will enjoy the stick just like @Frederic and @Srikumar enjoys it now. Btw, don't forget to get the clutch check as I suspect it's running really low on life. @Muhammed Shabreen it was my first time to sit inside the GX as it's a bit rare combination here in UAE, but I was super impressed with its power and gadget it has almost at par with LC and LX. It's a beautiful and powerful vehicle that need bit of time for you get along. You have done wonderful too after deflating to 15 PSI from 21 and 24 PSI as in off-road "correct" deflation is very important for better flotation. Also learn to switch off the traction aides and SRS before next drive to enjoy it further. And please don't be so hard on yourself just because of last two stucks, you have driven wonderful from 5:30 - 8.30 AM. This can happen to anyone and everyone get stuck sometimes, so take it easy. Simply learn to push more gas next time whenever you are entering a soft patch and your vehicle starts to bog down, that's how we all escape from random soft sand patches all around. @tcarrimjee and @Senthil Kumar you both Patrol brothers made it yesterday like a walk in a park with your powerful beast that was probably waiting to be unleashed. I was very impressed seeing you both flooring the gas pedal at right time and clearing the cross tracks, inclines and slope without a sweat. Patrol Y62 has enough power but as you progress in your off-road journey just be careful of the front and rear bumper that is a bit of concern with this shape patrol. @tcarrimjee wonderful shot taken above of the new Jeep Gladiator, that tells exactly "How to NOT to recover the car". When car is 80% front heavy then recovering that car from back was a recipe for disaster to break the tow rope, tow hook or even chassis of other Jeep. @jodha singh shekhawat thanks for watching the video brief and I'm sure now you know what you will do with a snakebite . Nissan Xterra are one of my favourite 4x4 just because it comes off-road ready in a complete stock state. Please check or change the gear oil and filter with OEM parts and test again, as Pajero gear oil doesn't heat up so fast usually as we have tons of pajero and they are happily pushing them at fewbie and intermediate level every week. Just be careful with front approach angle of Prado when you scale to higher level of drives, to be sensible enough while going down steep hill slowly to not damage or bend the front bumper. Yes please, buy all these fluids and filter from Habtoor - ONLY. They arent expensive and slight up and down with spec or duplicacy (possibility) can cost you fortune and inconvenience in offroad.

We will provide you with the spare radio for the first drive, then you need your own radio from second drive onward. For deflator and gauge you can pick from any tire shop or fuel station. If you can't then deflate with key (time consuming) and come 15 minutes early, please.

Please check your vehicle Engine oil condition and level Coolant level Check your tires Check your spare tire and its lug wrench Remove any unwanted stuff from boot or the backseat Strap or secure loose stuff in your car, as they will bounce while offroading For your first drive, you don't need any off-road gears other than tire pressure gauge and a tire deflator, that you can get from any fuel station or tire shop, easily. Practice at fuel fuel station on how to deflate your tires and if needed we can still show you on the meeting point, if you need our assistance for deflation, please arrive 15 minutes early. We will provide you the spare walkie-talkie radio for your first drive only. From the second drive onward you need to start bringing your own off-road gears: Radio Safety flag Shovel Air compressor - for joining drives that usually doesn't end at fuel station. As per COVID precautions it's maximum 3 in a car. Also you can get shovel from any hardware shop near your house for 15-20 dhs or from Dragon Mart, ACE Hardware or Speedex. You can and should get 10W-40 fully synthetic in Castrol, Shell, Total but you cant get one in Mobil 1 as they have 0W30 in fully synthetic range. 15W40 hard to get as its mostly used in bikes. Your desert warrior oil, seems pretty good with 1000 C reference, although hard to believe it as I have never heard any engine oil that can withstand beyond 250 C (500 F) even from hi-end royal purple, Redline motor racing engine oil. So it could be some marketing jargon and require proper reading of what 1000 C reference shell actually meant. 10W40 from Redline is for 295 AED in Amazon. Remember DO NOT BUY mineral, semi synth and blended products as for high temperature off road use fully synthetic is bare minimum. Little plus minus with spec as per your Pajero owner manual is acceptable.
