Well, to be honest, Emanuel asked us few times to take newbies for short spin but we were hoping to fix that strangers pop-out in 10 minutes. Things got real ugly when we realized that they have already moved the car quite a lot on a popped out tire to remove the seam from both sides and rubber lost its shape. We finally left them with our tools to let them figure out on how to pick the spare wheel lock as fixing the popped tire was FUBAR. For the testosterone, we have seen and detest those who can piss further contest so many times that we like to enjoy the Friday without any 6 days politics or usual rivalries or peer pressure on who can spend most on cars and mods / gears/gadgets etc. @Julien V and @Frederic Nuyttens please post your pictures in gallery section always, as after every drive we create an album for that drive and images in the gallery are stored on a permanent basis. https://carnity.com/gallery/category/94-absolute-newbie-offroad-drive-pink-rock-02-nov-2018

In that case my personal vote: 400 hp any day as it will be definitely more fun in driving, cornering and quick acceleration while overtaking from 80-120 km even at highway speed. Also saving 10k dhs will fill the gap of fuel mileage (if any) for the next 5 years, lol. Another valid point for 400 is - it has already lost its first-year depreciation than the 300 one which will hurt you less in the long run.

Totally agree with Barry, on ask yourself if you wish to have 400 hp than 300, trust me more hp is super fun at a lot of times. However, knowing your 200 km daily I will advise you to research on "real" fuel mileage of both cars and go with whichever is cheaper if that is a concern for your overall financial equation. If you don't care the fuel consumption or paid by the company - hell yes to 400 hp ANYDAY. And yes 10K driven is nothing if its still under warranty with the Arabian Automobiles.

Albert and Ramesh were amazing offroad legends that I have come across in UAE and always ready to help and support the offroad enthusiasm at any time, also Idris, Yahya & James were amazing offroaders. Glad to hear about them after a very long time, last I remember from 2006 when Ramesh used to have a black wrangler. Maybe someday when I have a few free months to practice and little spare cash will see to fulfill the rally dream.

Rallying used to be my all time dream be it on bike, cars or 4x4 than short races. Any clue how much it cost to enter Dakar as a privateer....? (Still dreaming)

BMW trouble-free lifespan is 3-5 years. If you are lucky and get a clean car that has been maintained to the perfection then 6-7 years, must be the case of Sertac X5. I know friend's and family whose Bimmers are failing within warranty but it doesn't hurt as it comes back with free new parts and only cost the downtime in AGMC. Bottom line, buy BMW which is in warranty or ready for gambling.

How can we not talk about SLS63 in most pretty faces in the car world?

Maybe worth complaining to them about this issue if you have spend money for the latest version (than cracked or pirated copy).

Indeed like every other Pajero said, I do agree 2-3 inch lift is good and sufficient for offroading. Also, Ren13 comment is for extreme cornering like roundabout at 80 and above, he is an ex-corvette guy lol. For normal road user and if you are driving the same 4x4 from some time, you will not feel much difference in cornering tbh. For Pajero most important offroad mod is the reinforcing the rear bumper with a solid metal plate to avoid scooping the sand which results in breaking the rear bumper within a couple of drives. Old Man EMU VS Ironman is a tough call but can be decided based on the product you put your hands on. Old Man EMU being quite old and offer a reasonable mix of comfort for road + firmness for offroad as oppose to Ironman that is more oriented towards offroad means you will lose road comfort more unless you choose their adjustable shocks (if they have), which will be eventually more expensive.

@Barry you are not the only one Ferrari fan here, I do share the same passion for F40 and slightly more for F50 GT from where it all started from my school days. I do use to have centerfold wallpaper stuck in my room for these beauties. To everyone surprise, until today I ask my brother to buy me a real Ferrari on my every birthday when he insists on a gift. Very nice topic @Barry I have just two PET Hates When someone behind you come close with a supersonic speed + gives you instant flash as if we can't see such huge FUGLY car + Don't wait to see if the car in front can steer right or not (no free lane) + After coming in front brake intentionally. When the car in front of you is slower by 20-30 kmph than road limit and still adamant to drive on the fast lane. I usually go close and wait for few seconds for a person to realize, but some AH don't even realize for minutes and then don't even react with tiny blip unless you flash them full beam x 10 times like a donkey.
