  1. Interesting observation...would be good to know feedback/advice from @Lorenzo Candelpergher @Alexander Alcala...in general don't think yesterday drive tested the clearance of JL... stock wheel as a concern, would like to know how much would that have helped...
  2. Thanks @Lorenzo Candelpergher for this awesome drive ..been to Area 53 a few times (at least thought so), it's today that i realized the real fun of it... The whole drive was a medley of adrenaline pumping "Highway to the danger zone" while ascents and beautiful and calm "Take my breath away" while descent. The speed, the elegance and energy with which the convoy went through this beautiful terrain full of awesome bowls, high dunes and tall ridges made it undoubtedly one of the best drives i have been on...Iftar bowl literally felt like a baby dune today @Ahab Shamaa what steroids do you feed into your FJ, the roar of your engine following my vehicle really added to fun... sincerely curious is it the muffler effect or have you boosted/tuned the power? Thanks to @Hisham Masaad @Shaz Shah @Alexander Alcala for holding this long convoy togather was surely a challenging task...with no visibility of what's happening on other end of dune..👍 thanks @Ahab Shamaa for continous feedback and much valued advices through the drive. Really appreciate. Hope to see you all soon for another action filled drive..
  3. Wow what an observation ...today was driving at 13/14 psi for most part of the drive, around 2-3 points higher than my usual. After first hour had a drastic drop in pressure on one of the tyres (perhaps a bit lose valve or something don't know), after inflating kept it at 14psi as was concerned that it may drop again... It stayed however meant was driving at higher than usual. And since one was high, didn't deflate others when they went up in course of drive....
  4. Hi Tareck give it some more drives and try similar drive again you will see the diff....as Richard had mentioned it's the line you take that makes a huge diff plus confidence in car.....plus ofcourse using the existing momentum down the hill to climb the hill... Try some drives driving behind leads and more experienced drivers, the smoothness with which they sail through the dunes is a treat to watch... I hv made same statements you made and i know how with every drive it has improved.. And continuing to work on it 👍👍 perhaps try a newbie drive sometime soon and you will see how easy it will feel vis-a-vis how it was when you started.
  5. Thanks @Wrangeld for the innovative drive...i was contemplating throughout the week about how you are going to go about this drive (as seems to be case with most friends here on forum). Must share that i am really amazed how you managed to find the track through which actually one could drive through without exceeding 2500 rpm... Despite being at end of the convoy facing completely churned up sand i to the major part of drive was in the planned range. And mostly where I exceeded i knew that i missed the most suitable line... thanks a lot for the experience. Idea of 2wd was really next level. Apart from initial series of refusals and stucks mostly convoy did well. We surely had our share of crests however was expected while everyone trying to limit the revs. @Tareck and @Christopher Assal you both were awesome today made my life as sweep super easy. Apart from one crest at the end both of you managed your Patrols super nicely through the churned up sand. Tareck i believe you must have realized (re-realized) today that your vehicle has tremendous power. At certain places i felt you could have sailed through with less revs as well. Again you were really good, just that today's theme was specific so felt at certain areas that you were putting in more gas then required..All an all a great outing for both of you. In general the whole convoy did well. For rest of the drivers i am sure other Seniors can comment better as from sweep couldn't have done a fair assessment of all. thanks again.
  6. Perhaps we define gear level for specific areas .. everyone to drive at a gear level (tiptronics or manual) though varies for individual vehicle still might be interesting way to control ...in any case speed is controlled by lead.
  7. Actually looking forward to explore the concept... I read in one of the threads the plan to climb steep dunes while keeping rpm below 2500... Hmmm interesting 🤔
  8. All the best Tero for your future endeavours.. we'll miss you at the back of the convoy.. Hv fun
  9. Wow same terrain, we all did same things - awesome bowls and steep climbs up the Super and Iftar bowl, yet such contrasting feedbacks across two Convoys... All n all, it was super fun, enjoyed it all thanks @Srikumar@Islam Soliman Feel like that irrespective of part of one convoy would have felt that missed the fun on other side ..and for that credit goes to the leaders of both Convoys. .cheers
  10. Thanks @Islam Soliman for a wonderful drive to start the day. It was a very smooth drive and the whole convoy did really well with only some minor refusals ..thanks all and hope to catch up soon.
  11. TC in JL has a switch works good for ESC, TC off...for ABS i have never disconnected, i know @Ilyaremoves the fuse for that...can share his thoughts
  12. 2 RSVPs and 3 to manage....Bollywood fans can relate to situation 😃 ....just a thought, any possibility this can be translated to a qualifying drive for some of us who have been waiting on boundaries for a while..2 extreme have already been cancelled due to low participation Disclaimer - i am fully aligned with the idea behind the new rules. Just sharing my thoughts as having been on one of the extremes drive, i want to explore the fun more. Carnity team has always surprised us with innovative ideas, so i am sure the plans for qualifying drive will be equally interesting. So please take my suggestion only in positive frame. I have no doubts that team will choose what's best for us as drivers and club as a whole ..Cheers. @Carnity@Luca Palanca Falsini @Gaurav
  13. I have completed more than 6 months with Carnity today and one thing has always stayed - if you want to RSVP a @Ale Vallecchi drive - , you need to have fingers that move fast (faster than the change in terrain his drive offers) - and if your fingers are slow, don't worry @Ale Vallecchi in any case will make the drive better by adding a new zing to it while accommodating all interested.. So the moment I signed up I knew it's going to be fun and so it was - the structured provided challanges for all - expanding the driving skills of newbies and Fewbies while leadership and recovery skills of intermediate peers. Thanks Ale for the wonderful idea and ofcourse this can only be executed due to ever enthusiastic support from @Carnity team and seniors A bit on drive report for convoy 2 from the SL perspective...- on this beautiful weekend morning we started at around 5:25 with @Yousef Alimadadi in the lead and guiding spirit plus enthusiasm of @Vanessa8580 to back us up at sweep. Within first 20 min i knew my role as Second lead is going to be fun today as distance between me and convoy kept on increasing and the need for bridging the gap between @Yousef Alimadadi Challenge Everything spirit and convoy's new fewbie cautiousness was very apparent. We had multiple refusals within first one hour as the convoy struggled with pace and eventually Pierre had his first stuck - a case which ideally could have been self recovered using Blip Blip technique however early high revs had led to too much digging in of vehicle and with heat we gave up after a bit of shoveling. @Alain Canivet-Abikhalil nicely tugged him out using the shiny red rope and terrain ensured Alain used his rope multiple times through the drive, including when he himself got crested on smallest of dune and had to be tugged out. As the convoy rerouted out of the zone, we entered a beautiful tech area with closely placed dunes...convoy having warmed up sailed through it.. From my rear view mirror i could see both @Pierre de Maigret and @Adhir Saxena enjoying the drive. We had a few minor refusals and some rerouting to avoid churned up sand on the way untill a soft sand slope tested Adhir leading to a stuck at softest of steep slope...it was really a sight to see him self recover out of it..we rerouted again as the area was too tricky and were back again to the adventure.. Almost half an hour before exit, Yousef landed in a tricky pocket and few secs that i took to realize that he is trying to find his way out on the other side of dune, I was already on top of the dune and sudden brake meant I was Royally crested....ensuring that mine and Yousef saga of crests isn't jinxed .😃 Overall it was an awesome drive with beautiful oryxs and camels at sight and a nice bunch of enthusiastic drivers led by a superb adrenaline junkie in Yousef and make it all fun Vanessa at lead. Terrain with tech dune some steep slopes a bit of ridge riding offered a good test for Fewbies. Personally the amount of time my shovel was in use through this drive is more than the cumulative sum of its usage over last 6 months..😃 Watching and guiding newbie/Fewbies friends as they moved through some tricky patches provided a feeling of DejaVu as i (and I am sure most peers) went through the same learning cycle with Carnity ..Overall everyone did well and as i could assess very well gained confidence through the course of this drive. I just focussed in my report on couple of drivers as from second lead position it's not fair to assess the rest...i leave it to Vanessa, Kalahari and other seniors to share their thoughts. Thanks all for the fun day and special thanks to Ale, Vanessa and Yousef for leading us through it.
  14. I will be the first one out ..sorry @Foxtrot Oscar permission withdrawn by my lil one ... She needs a chauffer to take her to a bday party 😃 Duty call. 😃
