  4. That's why it's important to keep the right amount of gap, not too much and not too less. It's a balance that will come as you drive more and more. And if you mention that Chaitanya was this close then he might as well give full gas and exit out. Not an ideal situation to be in but as long as there is no damage all is well that ends well.
  5. @Chaitanya D as a general practice if you see the car in front of you struggling especially on a side slope never overtake it from the top or bottom as you can very easily be dragged and hit the struggling car. Always exit before the struggling car I have personally witnessed such an incident at a Newbie Qudra drive when a car was trying to overtake the struggling car on a side slope, lost the momentum and banged into the car in front. To top it one of the car which was damaged was a Range Rover. And in a more recent Qudra drive we had a similar incident were almost two cars collided.
  6. A comparison of various compressors. Interesting read. 4WD169-036-054-FEATURE-air_2_(1).pdf
  7. Congrats Doc. Love your passion and the fact that you have been doing two drives every week speaks volumes of the love you have for this sport.

  12. Yes, I feel make it direct and turn it on only when offroading. The radiator fan is a clutch fan whose speed is controlled by the engine temperature, whereas what you are referring is for the AT cooler. Two different things.
  13. Better to install it with a On/off switch. Will extend the life of the electric fan and will also reduce the noise while driving on the road.
  14. @Rahimdad so true. Every challenge provides an opportunity to learn. I am sure with the amount of self recoveries, recoveries the learning curve would have been really steep. Well done everyone.
  15. Now that we are just a few hours away from the start of drive, it's a reminder to everyone who are joining with us tomorrow to read the COVID-19 regulations. We need your formal acknowledgement and commitment to comply with them by clicking on the "Totally Agree" emoji button inside the COVID post. PREPARATION FOR THE DRIVE AND WHAT TO EXPECT 1) Please ensure that you reach the meeting point on or before time, i.e., 5:00 AM sharp. 2) The senior members on the drive would be Me and @Vanessa8580. 3) Since most of you would be joining us for the first time, please spend 15 minutes to go through the Absolute Newbie briefing Video. This would help you prepare for your first offroad trip. 4) Once you reach the meeting point, those who have the radios please turn them on. We will be using Carnity Channel 4 tomorrow. (446.08125 Mhz). The instructions to program the radio are provided in the below post 5) All traction controls, ABS and Air bags need to be switched off. If it requires pulling the fuse, please do the needful. Incase of any queries you can always ask the senior members. 6) Deflate to 15 psi. Incase if you have any difficulties you can approach the senior members who would assist you. 7) Feel free to ask questions on the radio or announce if you have a problem. We shall be starting the drive close to Hamari well and will enter the desert through some nice easy tracks and dunes so that you can get familiar with your vehicle. As the convoy's confidence increases I shall be gradually increasing the level of the drive keeping in mind everyone's comfort level. We will be driving for about 3 hours, practice driving in sand, proper steering control, crossing some dunes, and getting you and your vehicle accustomed to off-roading in general. By 08:30 we will be heading out towards the last Exit at Al Qudra, where you can inflate the tyres either with your compressor or from the gas station. See you on the sand tomorrow.
  16. Hi Vijay, welcome. While a radio is very important, it's alright if you don't have it for your first off-road adventure. We have a spare one which would be fully sanitized and offered to you for usage.
  17. Hi @Ashy, it looks from the pictures that the clearance is more than 8 inch. But it would be best if you could measure it at your end once.
  18. As we are getting closer to the weekend, this is a reminder to all the drivers who have so far signed up for this drive to ensure that they have gone through the COVID19 regulations for the drive. We need your formal acknowledgement and commitment to comply with them by clicking on the "Totally Agree" emoji button inside the COVID post. Also, please spend 15 minutes with undivided attention to the Absolute Newbie Briefing Video. This is essential for the safety of you and your vehicle in the desert. @Newton Rozario @Vijaysekhar @Myles Keague @Arun Mathew - Please share your vehicle details - Make, Model, Year. - Do you have any prior off-road experience? - Confirm your vehicle has front and rear tow hooks / eyelets.
  19. Hi @Usman Basit, welcome to the Carnity Offroad Club and appreciate that you have shared the pictures. From the pictures it seems like that the front bumper (considering the black air dam) is having less than 8 inch of ground clearance, which is the minimum requirement. But its better you check it once at your end. Also, please ensure that there are proper tow points at the front and back of the car. Alternatively, you could describe your second car and we can advise accordingly. While its good to have your own gear, for the first offroad drive its not mandatory. There is a topic on where to get all the stuff which I have provided below.
  20. Hi Ashy, welcome to Carnity Off-road Club. Please ensure you have 8-10 inch of ground clearance both at the front and back. If in doubt, please post a picture on this thread and we shall guide you. If you have a two way radio and flag it would be helpful, else it's ok for your first Newbie drive. See you on Friday.
  21. @topgear and @Taha Elghuel this drive is reserved for Absolute Newbies. So please cancel your RSVP on this drive. You can join Frederic (Newbie Solar Park) or Gaurav (Pink Rock) drive. Incase those drives are full, you can mention on the drive threads to put your name on the waitlist so that they can add your name once someone drops out.
  22. Chances of it still climbing a hill is limited unless you have some very precise tuning.
  23. I would say so, if the AT/S is getting phased out and is unavailable.
