  1. Nope. It's only to show you're an offroader.
  2. @Barry thank you for your kind words. This forum was always about cars, how to maintain them, trouble shooting and tips and tricks. Off roading is my passion and I wanted to bring it to Carnity. Really happy that you appreciate it so much. However technically I'm not as good, and off roading is only a very small part of this community. Frankly I do not have the courage for track races or drifting, always been a distant admirer. I love the flavour you bring to the forum and love the fact that we share mural respect for each other's talents.
  3. @luwaimn I do remember the guy at the Dragon Mart radio shop saying they were going to bring the Motorola as the Crony. Please do share the model number for the Crony set along with the price.
  4. Thanks @Barry but I'm no where as great a contributor as yourself. I have loads of respect for you and love reading your advises and posts over and over, but I can like it only once. I'd much rather like to keep a track of my contributions and work towards earning my status rather than having a lifetime status. Hope I can some day be one tenth as helpful and knowledgeable as you @Barry.
  5. Somehow I already have my edit button. Maybe @Carnity can have a look as to why you don't have one.
  6. Excellent write up. I enjoyed reading it word by word. Seems like my stock Pathy has the intake from the fender as you mentioned though lot of bends and curves. Will truly consider the CAI after this thread.
  7. @syedyaseer yes, the tow points need to be checked as shown in the diagram. It's ok for tomorrow not to have a flag and radio. See you tomorrow. @O.Farahat you can join the all level drive in the morning.
  8. They should be fine, I got my set from them also and they have their tires unwrapped due to the chaos. Enjoy, great choice.
  9. @syedyaseer looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. Please make sure your front and rear tow hooks are in good shape, if you can please get a flag and glass clamp to hold it in place and if possible get a 2 way radio UHF. As for the petrol we always advise to have a full tank, but if it's showing 450 kilometres to go than you should be good for this drive.
  10. until

@Vimalkv thank you for your call this morning, it was a pleasure speaking to you. You're most welcome to join, but please make sure you get a rear tow hook fixed. Besides if you can most important items would be a flag and radio as discussed. Looking forward to seeing you on Friday.
  11. Try the Toby shop in Dragon Mart. Apparently Toby is a good brand and they sell all kinds of light bars at reasonable price. They also have a shop in Deira market opposite Hyatt Recency near Naif Road.
  12. Absolutely brilliant. I saw some people on the edge for an intermediate level afternoon drive. Great initiative.
  13. Excellent post @Javier M. Surely this will help put so many Jeep owners.
  14. Only been to the desert alone 3-4 times without any incident. But I did try to avoid taking chances and the thrill is not quite there, just a fear. I have always enjoyed the company of like minded people for over 10 years and it is much more fun.
  15. @Magellan welcome to the club. The drive will be around the Fossil Rock area for the newbies, big red is far off for newbies to manage from this area. @Javier M depending on the convoy size this drive will be split between newbie and Fewbie. 2 convoys. You will have the choice to join either one.
  16. Great topic. I try to use trusted brands for oil change also as per my car specs, but don't actually know the differences. Maybe you can explain @Glanz Lube.
  17. @Emmanuel I'm you biggest fan and with this thread you have won my heart and sure to win many more. Rightfully no shame and good to learn from such videos. @WiLfY spot on, sometimes we should leave little extra space in such situations as we cannot be sure how the car in front will react. Once we drive together in a few drives we pick up on drive habits and judgement gets better.
  18. Without a proper lift bigger tire size will also cause rubbing issues which lead to other damages in the long run. My advise is to first try out your current setup and try to make the educated changes as needed.
  19. @syedyaseer much appreciate your enthusiasm and excitement, but the trick is to keep calm. Collectively as a club experience we have 100 years between us, but we still get stuck. It's part of the game, no fun without stucks. So only pressure is how to get stuck and not the other way around. If you don't get stuck, no Aloo Parathas for you.
